Story
Meet Ogallala, but everyone calls her Olga! This sweet, beautiful girl is a Border Collie Australian Shepherd mix with a gentle and silly heart that will make you smile. When she came to Soul Dog in 2021, she was shy and fearful, but thanks to her long term foster family, she has made amazing progress.Olga has gone from hiding in her favorite corner to relaxing on the sofa with her foster pack, greeting her family at the door, and even asking for affection. One of her favorite pastimes now is shouting out the window at people and dogs passing by. She really loves letting her voice be heard! While she has gained confidence, Olga still has a few fears. Loud noises, sudden banging, or busy sounds like kids playing basketball can startle her. When she is unsure, she may bolt and then settle in a safe spot. With gentle guidance and patience, she is learning that the world can be safe and fun.Olga is looking for a kind, understanding person who can give her love, calm guidance, and the time she needs to feel confident in a new home. Because she is so comfortable in her foster home, a gradual transition to her forever family will help her adjust and thrive.Olga is a sweet, joyful girl who is ready to bring love, smiles, and laughter to her forever home. If you would like to meet her, submit an application at www.souldog.org. For questions, email adopt@souldog.org.

Story
Alder is an extremely sweet, quiet, shy boy. He is the dog version of an introvert. He is gentle and sticks to himself and is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. He doesn't engage much with them thought as he prefers to do his own thing. He has to be the most low maintenance and chill dog I've ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is hesitant with people he doesn't know but never aggressive. Not an ounce of aggression. He was listed as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was smaller and still a younger puppy but now that he is an older puppy (about a year) it's obvious that he is not a pittie but looks more like a border collie. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue/reviews (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Our little beautiful Roxy is something else! She is so intelligent and happy, and wants to be with a family. She adores children, and the seven year old in the house has taught her to fetch and lots of other things. She is gentle and precious, only about 30 pounds at a year, so is smaller, and loves getting attention. She is crate trained and house trained, enjoys other dogs, loves being outside, and walks well on a leash. She is ready for her forever best friend. She enjoys water, tummy rubs, and showing off how smart she can be. She is a bit frightened of cars rushing by and can be a little shy when she first meets you, but when she comes in for scratches, it is such an amazing feeling. Roxy enjoys everything about having a family, and cannot wait to find her forever!

Story
Meet Patunia! ******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you area not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Patunia is an spayed, 2.5 year old female Border Collie mix, currently weighing around 68lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX, and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is found. This big sweetie is the ultimate girl’s girl! She’ll be your biggest cheerleader for the wins and the losses, and will always agree that your girl math is 100% correct, especially if it involves some goodies for her too. Patunia is very affectionate and LOVES to snuggle and get kisses from her people! You’ll always find her near by and she is a huge fan of sleeping in your bed. Patunia is very gentle towards children, and enjoys having them as a cuddle/play mate. She is fearful of men, but adores women and children. She can be independent, but prefers her humans close by. Once Patunia forms an attachment to you, she’ll hug your legs and won’t let go. She is very playful and obsessed with all of the toys! She shares well with the resident dogs and humans too. She does prefer to dine solo however, so feeding away from others is recommended. Patunia is high energy, favoring dogs that can keep up with her. She is very friendly towards other dogs, and is excellent on picking up on their cues, especially when a dog isn’t interested in playing. Patunia is cat friendly with slow introductions. She is very curious about the resident kitties, and will follow them around. She may chase them to get them to play, so supervision is recommended. This good girl is very well trained on a leash, walking gently and calmly, and she is house and crate trained. She is only crated when unsupervised or left home alone for her own safety, as she can chew on random items. She has a little separation anxiety, but having another pup around helps her feel safe. Patunia will thrive in a home with a family or a single woman looking for a best friend! She just needs to have a close bond of friendship and love. She would also benefit from having another dog in the house that will play endlessly and help her feel safe. She would love a spacious back yard to help burn off her energy. We can’t wait for Patunia to find someone who will spoil her endlessly, because she deserves that and more! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? The Brush gang arrived at the Rescue from Brush, CO.  Animal Control had them for some time and could not find their furever families, so they asked for help.  They are a sweet, friendly group of Austrailian Cattledog, Lab and pittbull.   They are a very energetic and happy group that can jump high, so a high fence with a large yard or property will be needed for these pups.   Brush pink flowers is an almost 2 year old and looks mostly Cattledog with her spots, she is spayed, microchipped and current on shots.  She is kennel trained but has not spent time in the house, she has her own kennel at night but shares her yard with her brother. Story
Sue Snue is a 3-year-old mama pup and a stunning blue and red heeler mix with truly unique coloring. She has a soft, soulful presence that draws you in. She is a lower-energy cattle dog who is perfectly happy hanging by your side all day, going for peaceful trail walks, and being a loyal companion.Sue is naturally shy and timid, especially in new environments, but beneath that uncertainty is a remarkably courageous and curious dog. In calm, quiet, and supportive surroundings, she blossoms. She wants to be where her people are and shows a strong desire to explore her world at her own pace.Confidence does not come easily to Sue, but she works hard for it, and her quick progress has been impressive. She is gaining more confidence every day with the help of her foster siblings, who are gently showing her what it means to live as a confident dog, learning to trust, embrace play, and slowly fulfill the potential of her best life. She is very affectionate in the sweetest way, always wanting to be near her humans. When she feels overwhelmed, she seeks comfort and reassurance from her person, often hopping up with pleading eyes asking for protection. Although she’s shy, she trusts people deeply and loves to welcome you home with a smile (a unique trait!), literally baring her teeth in excitement, whether it’s to greet you or because she’s thrilled it’s dinnertime. She is especially fond of exploring the backyard, which has brought her a lot of joy and confidence. She’s learning basic training cues like touch and sit, walks beautifully on leash, rides well in the car, and continues to surprise everyone with how quickly she adapts. Loud noises and busy environments, traffic, city life, garbage trucks, are still scary for her, so a quieter home would suit her best.Sue Snue is learning how to be a dog again, and she’s doing it with bravery, curiosity, and heart. She would make a wonderful, close-knit companion for someone patient and kind who wants a true best friend, and is ready to offer her the forever home she deserves!
