Bruce is a 10-month-old puppy who’s funny, silly, and full of energy. He’s a little wild in a puppy way and absolutely loves being outside—running, exploring, and burning off energy. He would do best with someone who has a backyard and enjoys an active, outdoor lifestyle like hiking or long walks. This isn’t a rushed rehoming. I care deeply about Bruce and am looking for the right fit, not just any home. He deserves someone who can give him space, time, and a lot of love.

I'm a lucky dog and smart, too! I was chosen to go to college with the MSU Companion Animal students at MSU and I graduated! I spent 10 weeks learning great stuff with the students and now I'm ready for a real job - like loving you! I learn quickly, already know commands and I'm house trained. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! I got my baby boy from a breeder near Colorado Springs. He is now 8 years and 7 months. He needs to be re-homed because he is not adjusting well to our now one year old. He never bit her. But he was showing teeth and getting more aggravated. It was clear that our baby was at risk of getting harmed and also since the baby my dog just hasn’t been happy. He’s stressed out and depressed (only when at my house). He deserves a child free and dog free home where he can thrive and love life again. And you have to have a backyard. He’s still high energy. Obi has a zest for life. When he’s outside he is full of so much joy it lights anyone up. He loves to play fetch and keep away. He LOVES people. He warms up fast and loves hanging out with visitors. He’s smart. He’s playful. He’s loving. He’s just the best dog anyone could ask for. Obi will fill your home with energy, excitement, snuggles, and love. I want the rest of his life to be a happy one. He deserves it! And his new owner too.
