Story
Huey is a 4 year old pit/border collie mix (we think?). He is a great dog, but he does not get along with our 2 year old son and has shown anxiety around him. Yesterday he nipped and made contact with our son. We cannot ethically keep him in our home. He is a bit anxious but is such a lovable guy. He is an active boy, loves to run and play as much as possible. He is also a snuggle bug. Loves rubs and attention and will follow you anywhere. He is kennel and house trained and up to date with vaccines. He would do well in a home without young children or cats as he tried to herd our cats and needed to be kept separate. Older kids and teens are fine.

Meet my sweetest boy, Tash! 🐾 I adopted him as a puppy in 2018, and he has been the absolute best companion. Tash loves outdoor adventures—runs, hikes, camping—you name it! He’s always up for playing fetch, and he even learned how to swim in the ocean. 🌊 Tash is a true people dog. He wants to be by your side at all times, whether it’s lounging on the couch or cuddling up to sleep in bed with you. He’s just that loyal and loving, always making sure he’s right where you are. He’s such a good boy, and I’m committed to finding him the best home. If you’re looking for a dog who’s active, affectionate, and always ready to spend quality time with you, Tash is the perfect companion. Story
We rescued Dottie when she was about 4 months old from a less than ideal situation . She had some anxiety but we worked on it and were diligent with training and enrichment opportunities. Dottie is a wonderful girl, she is about 2.5years old and is well trained. She has done agility and obedience training as well as some scent work. She loves to run next to a bike and loves trails and people. She tolerates other dogs and does not go out of her way to meet them, she would do best in a single dog house though she does have some good doggie friends she loves to see. While she is an active girl she doesn’t love the heat and she is happy hanging out at home. We have a new baby and a new cancer diagnosis and the last 9months have been rough for her, she is afraid of the baby and with everything going on she is just not getting enough of anything from us. I worry for our baby as he grows and I worry for her quality of life. With the right person she could shine

Story
Chelsea is 3yo powerhouse of energy and affection. She’s crate trained and settles well but she would love a lifestyle of activity and routine. She knows sit, stay, leave it, excuse me, lay down, back up, down, up, let’s walk and turn around.” She’s looking for an owner that will keep her active and let her snuggle up on the bed. She loves kids and I think she’d do great with a family. She bonds through play, exercise and having a job. Her 1 quirk is that she gets so excited for walks she tends to pull but were working on it :) she can also have some excitement based leash reactivity (not aggressive at all,) but usually if she’s had plenty of exercise and feels close with her person - she’s fine.

Story
I adopted Maisie from the Boulder Humane Society in November, 2021. She was 3-4 months old and had been picked up in New Mexico. She was on medication for anxiety and I was told she should be homed with another older dog and kept away from children. I live in a condo with a small deck area and I am very active outdoors. We walk 3 times a day, hike, ski, etc. She is a good dog if you are active outdoors or have a yard. She loves being outside. She went through training with the High Drive Dog school and did very well and she is good on a leash. She is off leash often and is good with other dogs unless they are aggressive towards her. I have trained her to avoid those dogs. She is very smart and learns quickly. She has good recall when I call her. She has some anxiety during thunderstorms, fireworks and the Vet. I am moving to be near my grandkids and she is not good around children. I use the muzzle but quick, unpredictable moves are an issue for her so I am looking to re-home her.

Story
Forest is a big boy and he knows it.  He is outgoing and confident and doesn't like being left out.  He is interested in playing with other dogs from rough housing, chase, and toys.  He can be a bit mouthy as puppies are and he'll need some work around this.  He will let you know vocally when he feels left out.  He can be crated and will eventually settle down, but only if he thinks he's not missing out on something.   ##2827281##

Story
If you're looking for a sweet, spirited girl with a personality that fills the whole room, look no further. Flora is as loving as they come — and she's got the energy and spunk to match that big heart. Hi, I'm Flora! I am a sweetheart, and I'd love nothing more than to spend my days right by your side. I've got plenty of pep in my step, so I'm happiest when I've got something to do and someone to do it with. When I set my mind to something, watch out — I am one determined girl. I'm smart, I'm persistent, and I will absolutely figure out how to reach a goal once I've decided it's worth reaching. Channel that cleverness into training, games, and adventures, and you'll see just how much I love to work with my people. Speaking of my people — they're my very favorite thing. I want to be with my humans as much as doggedly possible, and I'll happily follow you from room to room. But I'm also a curious, friendly girl at heart. New friends are exciting to me, and I love meeting other pups and seeing what the world has to offer. My sister and I are total snuggle bugs, so I am pretty sure that I'd love to have a resident pup to hang with. I haven't met any cats yet. My perfect family would be: Active & Engaged: Someone who'll match my energy with walks, play, and adventures, and give my clever brain a job to do. I haven't taken walks yet because I am too small, but I am sure they will help! Consistent: I thrive with clear boundaries and positive, patient training — it helps me put all that determination to good use. Around & Involved: I love being with my humans, so a home where I'm not left alone for long stretches is my dream. Give me your time and your heart, and I'll give you a loyal, joyful, determined best friend for life. I can't wait to meet you! ##2827278##

Story
Personality and AffectionDuncan has been with me only a short time, and every day brings something new to enjoy—whether it is a skill he has learned or another part of his personality shining through. He is a handsome, affectionate boy who loves people and will happily be your shadow. He enjoys belly rubs, pets of all kinds, and may even climb into your lap if invited. Energy and Activity NeedsAs a high-energy puppy, Duncan needs plenty of activity and enrichment to keep him happy and out of trouble. Because his enthusiasm may cause him to knock over small children, a home without young children would likely be the best fit. He gets excited when greeting people and may jump up; we are working on this behavior, and his new family should continue reinforcing calm greetings. Potty TrainingDuncan is making excellent progress with potty training. He does not yet signal when he needs to go outside, so when I am not working, I take him out every 10–15 minutes and praise him with pets and a cheerful “good boy” when he finishes outside. While I work from home, he stays in the laundry room behind a gate separating it from the kitchen. He has not had an accident there since his first day and has not needed the pee pad provided. Other PetsDuncan currently lives with two resident dogs and gets along very well with them. He loves to play and would likely thrive with a younger dog whose energy matches his own. He also lives with two cats. Although he is curious about them and may chase the kitten in an attempt to play, he responds to a firm “uh-uh” or “leave it.” Any interactions with cats should be supervised. TrainingWe are currently practicing the following cues:SitOffUh-uhLeave itHow reliably Duncan responds depends on his level of excitement. Consistency and patience will be essential as he continues learning. Crate and Sleep RoutineDuncan sleeps in his crate and has slept through the night. At times, he wakes and whines for a few minutes, but a calm “hush” usually helps him settle back to sleep. Covering the crate with an old sheet at night also seems to help him relax. His typical bedtime is between 9:00 and 9:30 p.m., and he gets up between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. ##2819969##
