Story

Rocky is a super duper sweet boy. He loves pets and spending time with people, whether or not they are strangers! He is a lap cat and very personable. Unfortunately, we cannot keep him as he has started spraying and peeing outside the litter box. We had him checked out medically and he is perfectly fine, but we have a young son who is crawling and do not have the ability to try and retrain Rocky. It breaks our hearts that we have to rehome him but we know that the right person can help him break this habit. He loves other cats, but our other cat has been aggressive towards Rocky lately and that could be contributing to the behavior.

Sky is the most sweet gentle cat. He loves treats and pets. He gets a little shy around new people but eventually warms up. I just want to find him a home where he can get the attention he deserves. I am a new mom and it’s been really hard to with the new baby.

She was found under a bush as a kitten. we've had her for about a little over a year now. She gets along with some of our other cats and not with a a few others. But the ones that don't like her beat her up often. She's sweet but timid and takes a long time to warm up to humans.

Affectionate Obi, born in 2023, is also a very skilled couch potato. When he's not perfecting his couch potato skills, he loves to play with his sister Sunny. He and Sunny are bonded littermates so must be adopted together. Obi lives with a human baby and has never been aggressive with the baby.

Kenzie (once short for MacKenzie) is a healthy neutered male cat estimated to be about 4 years old. Kenzie has lots of energy and typically needs 1-2 play sessions a day to get the zoomies out, but is very good at entertaining himself in between times with toys and windows. He is super talkative and very clear in his demands. He loves company, especially when eating, and does not like being left behind, although he is good at adapting to consistent routines. Kenzie is a big cuddler and enjoys snuggling up on or next to a blanket-covered lap. He is good at recognizing when you are busy--such as when you are wearing a headset or sitting with a laptop for teleconferences--and will quietly keep you company until you are free. When Kenzie's routine is upset or he is otherwise disturbed (such as strangers in the house or loud noises) he can get agitated and may swipe or bite. Kenzie doesn't always know his own strength and may play a bit aggressively trying to wrestle or pounce--but he is learning! Kenzie's ideal person will spend lots of time at home, have some familiarity with cat behaviors (such as cues when it's ok to pet the belly!), and have no other pets or children. Attempts to integrate Kenzie with other cats have not been successful. To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Meet Alfredo! He's an incredibly sweet boy who is both chill and playful. He loves attention and basking in the sun. He gets along great with the cat and dog in the home and he always uses the litter box. His long fur requires lots of brushing but luckily being brushed is his most favorite thing. I think he likes being brushed more than he likes food. Alfredo had all of his teeth removed due to severe dental disease but that doesn't stop him from eating anything; he loves canned food, dry food and every type of treat he's come across. Alfredo would do best with someone who will be patient with him while he settles in and who will put in the work to gain his trust. Preferably a home without small children, but he would really like a feline friend. To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
