He’s a social cat who loves being around people and often follows you from room to room. While he’s not the most overtly affectionate, he has a quiet way of lifting your spirits when you need it and be by your side. He understands basic commands like come, go, and no (at least with us!). Some of his favorite things include kneading on soft blankets, being in the presence of people, relaxing on the balcony watching birds and squirrels. He’s naturally funny without even trying, generally friendly, and only gets annoyed from time to time as cats do. He does have a few quirks: he occasionally pees or sprays, and he tends to occasionally groan loudly at night, possibly because he isn’t neutered.

I found my cat, (Chimu) when he was small maybe he had about one month at that time. He is now probably around 1 year and 3-4 months. Chimu is a very affectionate cat he, loves to get chin and head rubs, but does not like when you touch his belly. Chimu has never scratched or attacked any member of my Family and he is well behaved with little kids. Although he doesn’t like to get his nails cut and he has had them long for a while, he never used his nails to attacked or even use his nails when he wants to play he only uses his paws. Unfortunately he never got vaccinated or even checked, but I could tell you that he is in good shape, he rarely vomited 2-3 times the whole year, and never shown signs of poor health. The reason I want to rehome my Chimu is because I am moving very soon, and sadly they don’t allow pets, and cannot take him with me. If anyone is interested please contact me. Im sure he will make your life brighter, as he did to mine.

Goldfinch (aka Chip) is a lover of food and friends. He was born on 4/13/2025. He is skittish of hands and sudden movements, but will happily flop down by the nearest person for pets and affection. He purrs constantly when happy, and can be heard clear across the room. Chip is endlessly playful, but will hog all the toys if you let him. He does not do well alone, and would like to be adopted with one of his siblings (Bluejay and Cardinal) or go to a home with a new friend he can jump on and play with. To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
