Story
Hello, I am Hershey, a sweet and adorable eight-year-old black and white tuxedo DSH girl. I received my name after the Hershey candy bar can you believe that! I was adopted from AWLMC a few years ago and settled right in and life was very good. Unfortunately, my owner became very ill and was unable to care for me so I came back to AWLMC. I am a shy cat who runs when there are loud noises! I will admit little kids scare me as they want to chase me. I love playing with feather toys and toys that move across the floor especially the laser light toy. I am a bit shy when meeting new people and will hide for a while until I am more comfortable. When I am feeling safe, I follow you around, sit next to you and on your lap. If permitted I would love to join you at the dinner table. I love being up high (wait until you see me jump!), and looking out the window from my cat tree (I have one ready to go with me), observing life outside, the birds and squirrels or just curling up in the sun light for a nice cat nap. One of my favorite spots in the house will be the carboard scratching board. I love to scratch it and then lay down for a nap on it. I am also intensely curious about open doors you never know what is inside unless you check it out right? And boxes are another ting of interest. If you want to give me a gentle chin to tail massage, I am your girl. I have the tiniest meow so listen up! I like to sit with you, sleep with you, occupy your lap? Please come see me. You will not be disappointed. I want to go home with you. Please visit our website www.awlmc.org to learn more about this amazing cat and to see other available cats.

Story
Hi there, Im Luckysometimes. Other times my luck seems to run out, but I like my name and Im hoping to get lucky again soon. My first family gave me my name because they felt lucky after buying their dream house and then finding a cute little gray tabby girl kitten (me) hiding under the deck! Unfortunately the three little kids in that house were just too loud and scary, so I spent a lot of time hiding from them. No fun for anybody! My second family included a cat that I just could not get along with, so I came back to AWLMC. I was adopted by an older lady and life was fantastic! We truly loved each other. We watched TV from her couch and I slept on her bed at night. Unfortunately, she fell and broke her hip and could no longer care for me.I am a 5 year old gray and black tabby girl and I am still as cute as ever - and affectionate and playful and an all-round great cat. I really love hanging out with adult humans - but not kids or other cats. I will rub against your legs and when you sit down, I will be right there with you. Sometimes, I climb onto your chest for a petting and snuggle session. You can pick me up for a bit but I prefer to move around on my own. I will play with toys like the wand toy, anything with catnip, electronic toys, and I love scratching posts, especially horizontal cardboard ones.My paws are crossed, and I am hoping to find my true furrever home. Do you feel lucky? Let's roll the dice and see if we have a winning combination!   Please visit our website www.awlmc.org to learn more about this amazing cat and to see other available cats.

Story
Meet Minnieshort forMinerva, after the legendary Professor McGonagall herself. Just like her namesake, Minnie is elegant, intelligent, and quietly magical. This beautiful8-year-old solid gray Domestic Shorthairis being surrendered through no fault of her own; with a busy household that included a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old, Minnie became uncomfortable and stressed. Her family lovingly wants her to have a calmer, happier life where she can truly thrive.Minnie is agentle soulwho forms deep, meaningful bonds with her humans. She may be a bit shy at first, carefully observing her surroundings as she sizes up the situation, but once she feels safe, her playful and affectionate personality emerges. Minnie is happiest in acalm, predictable homeand would do best with a single person or family, possibly witholder childrenwho can respect her space.Minnie loves routine comfortsshe often beats you to bed at night and happily curls up on your lap, purring her heart out while you watch TV or work on your computer. While she allows being picked up, she prefers all four paws on the ground and may gently wiggle free. She does occasionally get thezoomies, announcing them loudly as she races through the house! Minnie is missing her front claws due to a past infection, but she uses the litter box without fail and enjoys a good scratching post.Minnie is patiently waiting for her special person to find hercome meet her and see if this gentle, gray beauty is the missing piece in your home. Story
Zeusis a beautiful 9 YO Gray and White Tabby who when adopted kept his nameZeus. Zeusis described as a loving and affectionate cat who desires to be near his staff no matter where they are in the house (he is not fond of beinglocked in a room and will MEOW until you let him out). He loves to be with you when you're onthe couch, the chair and your bed! So whenyou go to bed make sure you leave plenty of room between you and the headboard- cause that's wherehe will be! He loves to play lasertag as well as Feather wand toys!Zeus lived with another cat in the house as well as a dog and all got along, sometimes the cats could be found cuddling up together. One of his favorite activities is being in his cat tree watching the birds and squirrels. Once he spots them, he crouches down, ears flat and starts a crackling sound as if he is ready to catch the bird/squirrel. His one quirk is that after using the litter box he seems to get the zoomies and races around the house! So, he does use the litter box and he likes a strong scratching post. When You see him, your heart will melt! Please visit our website www.awlmc.org to learn more about this amazing cat and to see other available cats.

Hello, darling. Im Dutchess named because my dad thought I deserved something royal (and he treats me accordingly). Im a three-year-old tuxedo lady with striking yellow-green eyes and a personality to match.Im quite the conversationalist. Meow to me from across the room and I will absolutely answer back. I love sitting up high on my cat tree, surveying my kingdom and watching for birds out the window. A good window view and pleasant company? Thats my perfect day. While I may look regal, Im wonderfully affectionate. I warm up quickly and enjoy naps wherever they happen couch, bed, your lap Im flexible. I even like being picked up and carried like the royalty I am.Ive lived with another cat, Mineola, and we cuddled, played, and quietly judged life together. Im a curious, people-loving girl ready to rule a new home gently, of course. Please visit our website www.awlmc.org to learn more about this amazing cat and to see other available cats.

Story
"Night" in Latin is Noxis thats me! Nox for short -- black like the night sky, except for a white spot on my chest. I was adopted as a kitten and so happy until the human babies came along. Lets just say this 8-year-old boy does not care for little kids. I tolerated the first baby when I was four. But when the second came along a few months ago, it was just too much for me and I showed that I was unhappy. However, I have been the perfect gentleman cat in my foster home which has no children! My foster mom said I am a lively, intelligent, companionable kitty! This is what I hope to find in my new home. First, I love attention, petting and talking with you. If I feel you are ignoring me I will either meow, nudge, or softly tap you with my paw. Windows with a view are an absolute must for my sunbathing and bird watching. While I am not crazy about being picked up and carried around, I love to take naps on your lap. My mom said to warn you that I like to tear and chew on tape, especially shipping tape when attached to a box. So, youll have to keep those out of my reach, or I will swallow the tape! Other than sticky tape, my favorite toys include feathers on a wand, anything with catnip in it, and my treat maze. Well, how about it? Come by so I can try out your lap for napping!
