Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. The happiest walking companion !Mirabel is a 10 yr old, super sweet & happy female tricolor Chihuahua-Min Pin mix.  Since she was rescued, she's like Benjamin Button, it seems like she's aging backwards!  Mirabel loves her walks and is happy to go for a jog with her people.  Very calm and chill around the house, she weighs 12 lbs is friendly with new people and other dogs, and has the cutest, most sweet manners!   She greets her people with her favorite toy in her mouth, she's engaged and intelligent, making her a the very best companion dog.  Mirabel is the youngest acting and looking senior, she can be playful and run around the room.  She's a loyal dog and likes to be wherever her family is just cuddling, sleeping or watching the world around her. She loves to go for walks, two miles is not a problem for her, She's most content to cuddle and snooze in her bed with her fuzzy toys. Going out back to feed the goats is a duty she takes very seriously. (see photos!) Not much of a barker, Mirabel is very well house trained, great on leash, and friendly towards other people and dogs. Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heart worm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and micro chipped.   Adoption fees for dogs: http://www.svpetproject.org/info/adoption Stay up-to-date on what our dogs are up to by following us on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/svpetprojectVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 8, 2023, 9:31 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet super senior! Mister is a 16 year-old, 12 pound Australian Terrier. How do you feel about naps? Mister is a pro napper! At 16, Mister brings us a lifetime of his experiences. While those remain a mystery, we do know that he loves a warm bed, a loving family, and excellent care. While napping is his favorite activity, he also loves backyard sniffaries, walks in his stroller, and evening trots around the culdesac! Don't count this boy out yet, he has lots of love and snuggles ready to give his forever family. BONDED PAIR Welcome to Rose and Remi!! Rose is quiet and sweet. She loves to be at your side and will be your little shadow.  Her favorite things to do is cuddle, sleep, eat yummy soft treats, and layout in the sun. Remi is goofy and spunky (in the cutest way ever!).  He will also be your little shadow and when he gets excited he has this little wiggle dance.  He loves cuddles, sleeping in the sun, zooms, and is very food motivated. Energy Level?  Rose: Low and Remi: Low to Medium House trained?  Both are house trained Describe how they are on a leash?  Both are not super comfortable on a leash yet but they are working on it.  They mostly don't move too much on a leash and need encouragement. Describe how they are with other dogs?  They don't really pay much attention to other dogs on leash while walking.  Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  They have done fine with both dogs and cats when tested. Commands they know?  Working on basic commands. What are their favorite things?  Remi and Rose both love food (Remi more on this one), sleeping in the sun, and cuddles.   What do they need to work on?  Walking on a leash, basic commands, and getting used to you being away from them.  They prefer to be with you, but they both calm down after a few minutes when left. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?   I left them at home for up to 3 hours and after a few minutes of whining, they calmed down and fell asleep. Where do they sleep?  Inside of their pen and on their beds mostly. What is their ideal home?  Their ideal home would be a mellow home.  They would love to be around you most of the time but can handle being left with each other while you go out. A home with adults or respectful children would be ideal. What is their meal schedule and what are they eating?  They eat twice a day.  They like hot water added to 1/3 cup of kibble and wait for the kibble to become soft and cool down. Occasionally I add some super finely chopped-up chicken to encourage them.  Rose is more finicky. Remi is not finicky June 9, 2023, 1:41 pm

Story
Diego  is a good boy, likes to be close to you when you're sitting around and working on the computer.  He's crate trained, and likes hanging out in his crate during the day when you're away from home.  At night, he learned very quickly to sleep on a bed on the floor, without trying to jump on my bed.  He sleeps quietly until you're ready to get up and let him out. Diego gets very excited to go for a walk, and gets vocal when he sees you putting on your shoes.  This is a behavior we're working to extinguish right now. Diego is nervous around new people.  He needs an adopter who will understand from dog stress signs and only let him approach them.  Diego is not a fit for young children in the home, as children can be unpredictable and make him nervous. Diego's adopters should understand that they should not stick their hands in his face unpredictably, he should be only calmly petted, especially by new people.  Once he knows and trusts you, he will roll over for belly rubs.  Diego is an affectionate dog, but it's best that he goes to a calm home where he can feel secure. Diego loves to play fetch!  He's also good with other dogs in the home. Diego can be a little leash reactive, where he barks and pulls towards other dogs.  This is a behavior we're also working on using positive reinforcement. Energy Level? Medium House trained? Mostly Describe how they are on leash? He pulls ahead initially but not hard, and will walk better after a few minutes.  Working on leash manners. Describe how they are with other dogs? Good in the same household. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? Yes, Diego has lived with cats in his previous home. Commands they know? Sit, going into his crate with a visual signal What are their favorite things? Playing fetch What do they need to work on? leash manners, he can benefit from more basic obedience cues. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? Good.  Up to 8 hours in his previous home. Where do they sleep? Crate during the day, on a dog bed on the floor at night. What is their ideal home? Adult only home, with people who are experienced around nervous dogs and understand stress signs.   June 9, 2023, 1:41 pm

Story
Cosmo  has come a long way from his days on the streets and now loves to be around his people. His favorite activities include getting comfy on the couch and going on long walks  Energy Level?  medium  House trained?  Yes Describe how they are on leash?   Cosmo  loves to walk!! He is great on a leash. He does pull ahead and lead the way but not in an over-eager kind of way  Describe how they are with other dogs?   Cosmo  is great with other dogs.  He tends to bark or try to go see other dogs on walks and once he gets to sniff the other dog, he calms down. If he finds a playful dog, he likes, he loves to run around and play Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  Cosmo  didn't seem phased by the resident cat. He liked to play with playful cats Commands they know?   Cosmo  knows go to your bed, go potty What are their favorite things?  Cosmo  loves running around in the yard with the other dogs and curly up next to you to sleep while you work. He loves blankets too. What do they need to work on?  Cosmo  needs to work on not trying to go see every dog he sees on walks and getting more comfortable with new people, but he's getting so much better and more comfortable around people. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?  Cosmo  is fine, left alone.  We have left him for up to 6 hours. Where do they sleep?  He sleeps under the covers on the bed next to his humans if he can jump on the bed. What is their ideal home?  We think  Cosmo  would be best in a home with other dogs.  He seems more comfortable watching and playing with the resident dogs. He does love his humans after he gets used to them, but he would do best having a friend to play with.   He needs a family who will give him time to adjust and get used to them, but after a while, he falls in love with his humans, getting excited and wagging his tail when they come home and wanting to cuddle in bed with his people.  June 9, 2023, 1:41 pm
