Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, July 12th from 12-3pm unless adopted prior to the event. To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance.   Adoption fee: $700 Meet Unicorn—the tiny, magical marvel who’s about to steal your heart!   This 4 month old Chug (Chihuahua + Pug = 100% pocket-sized perfection) started life in a less-than-magical way— stuck in a cat kennel at a shelter for a week. But once she landed in her foster home, her sparkle started to shine.   Unicorn has been living her best life with her foster sibling Bubble (another DPS pup) and together they’ve formed the cutest dynamic duo. They love playing chase in the yard, sniffing out the very best sticks, and occasionally launching sneak-attack couch pounces on each other (yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds!). When playtime winds down, Unicorn is all about the snuggles. She’s a sweet, gentle soul who gives the softest nuzzles and would happily curl up in your lap all day if she could.   Though she was a little shy at first—preferring to hide between her foster’s legs when Bubble got a bit too rowdy—Unicorn’s confidence has blossomed. She’s playful but not wild, silly but gentle, and has a calm, patient nature that makes her extra lovable. She rarely barks, adores squeaky toys, and is working on her housetraining like a champ.   Unicorn would thrive in a home where she can be someone’s little shadow (or lap warmer!) and would enjoy a canine playmate who’s kind and playful but not overwhelming. She’s the perfect mix of playful puppy and mellow lounger.   Favorite Unicorn move? Leaping off the couch to surprise Bubble mid-bone chew—puppy WWE-style!   Best features? Those big soulful eyes, her gentle kisses, and her heart of gold.   Ready for some puppy magic in your life? Apply for Unicorn at www.dpsrescue.org and let the fairytale begin.    July 12, 2025, 1:48 am

Story
Limiting adoptions to Santa Clara/San Mateo County. Seeking an active adult home with a secure yard. If you want a fun sidekick, with the cutest forehead wrinkles, the longest little legs and a nose for adventure, meet Dot! Dot was the tiniest pup in her litter but she made her presence known! Dot was born under a shed to a very sweet abandoned mama chihuahua mix who did a good job of keeping her little babies safe and warm. When mama and her 2 week old puppies were discovered, we brought them to safety where they were raised in a loving foster home. Dot is a confident girl, who loves to learn, is super motivated for treats and its just hard not to look at her and smile or laugh at her antics. She might be a good candidate for agility as she has lots of energy and likes to explore! Dot is best suited for an active adult home with a yard. She can be vocal on walks and needs slow introductions to new dogs, but LOVES her people!! Dot will need a watchful eye as she likes to adventure. Once the wiggles are out, Dot is a world class snuggler and is super affectionate. Dot is crate trained and potty trained in her foster home but as with any new situation, dogs/puppies will have accidents and there will be adjustment period as they learn their new environment.
