Story
Chihuahua Mix Age: 2-3 yrs old Male, neutered 8 lbs Adoption Fee: $150 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) PLEASE NOTE: We do not adopt any of our dogs out to families with children under the age of 13. Clancy was turned into the Hayward Shelter as a stray. The family that found him and planned on keeping him, changed their minds when a child living in the home was nipped. Being a young puppy in need of socialization, he proved too hyper, too much “stranger danger” and a little snappy to qualify for adoption, so the shelter called Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs to take him into foster care. Clancy quickly bonded with the foster humans in the home. There was some initial barking, but after a couple finger sniffs, then licks he was good to go - kisses all around. He needs to develop some manners, and skills training. He isn’t yet leash trained, but prefers to go pee and poop outside. He needs to go to a home with another young, playful, friendly dog that will teach Clancy some dog-on-dog manners. He also needs more exposure to strangers so that there is less barking when meeting new people. We are looking for a stable home with other dogs (Clancy does okay with cats and is afraid of rabbits), with experienced adopters that can continue developing his social skills. Because of his barking, he would not be a good dog in an apartment setting. He needs a house with enclosed back yard. For more information about Clancy, contact nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Long-Haired Chihuahua Mix Age: 3-5 years Male, neutered 11 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) PLEASE NOTE: We do not adopt any of our dogs out to families with children under the age of 13. Here is what Bodhi’s foster family has to say about him: “Meet our foster dog, Bodhi. He's a Heinz 57 of dogs, a little bit of everything. Bodhi is a character, and can be a little quirky. It took him a week before he wanted to have anything to do with us. After that week, he came out of his shell. He is a loving dog, that would be great in a home with 1-2 adults, no children. He would do great being the only dog. He can be a lap guarder, and he does not like to share said lap with other dogs. Bodhi is great on leash walks, and he is getting used to hanging out in the yard while I garden. When we started bringing him outside, he would do his business and then go back inside. Now, he is learning to hang out outside and relax. When Bodhi gets excited, he becomes a bit of mouthy player. (He does not bite down.) Just to add some observations from Bodhi’s previous foster home - he is pretty much a “one person” or “one family” dog. He is not too keen on interacting with strangers (visitors to your home or out in public). Potential adopters should be prepared to give Bodhi time to adjust to a new environment and new owners. He will likely take at least a couple weeks to trust and feel comfortable. It won't happen overnight. For more information about Bodhi, contact nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Story
Chihuahua Age: 1 yr old Female, spayed 9 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Chloe came to us from the Stockton Shelter with significant injuries from being hit by a car. Her pelvis, tail and rear leg hock were all fractured. The pelvis fracture was well aligned and healing on its own. The tail was deem “dead” and needed to be amputated. Her rear hock fracture was repaired by the surgeon, but she will likely have a slight limp on that leg. In addition to her injuries, she was somewhat under socialized for being so young. However, within a couple weeks she warmed up to her foster family. Timidness aside, she is a sweet loving young dog and get along with everyone. She wants to play and bond with other dogs. She needs a forever home with another playful young dog her size. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. Story
Chihuahuas Age: 4 yrs / 1 yr Females, spayed 9 / 7 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Kanga and Roo came to us from the San Mateo SPCA. Kanga wasn’t at risk, and would have been available for adoption at the shelter. However, her surviving puppy (the other one died at the shelter), Roo, was special needs and was still nursing, so we had to take Kanga and the puppy, Roo, together. After separating them for a while once Roo was weaned, we decided to put them back together after Roo recovered from her surgeries. Kanga came from a very bad hoarding situation. She was very underweight (which probably contributed to the poor condition of her two puppies). She is very healthy now, and ready to be adopted. Roo showed signs of congenital birth defects in her legs (not surprising, given her rough start). Three of her legs were “good enough” for mobility, while the 4th leg was pretty messed up. We decided to do a series of surgeries to realign the bones on the worst leg. She is fully recovered and gets around pretty good (although, not sure that she could take long walks - maybe a stroller is in her future?) Kanga can be very shy and cautious when meeting new people, but when she does feel comfortable, she is super sweet and affectionate. Roo, as a puppy, loves everyone. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Kanga & Roo, contact nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Story
Chihuahua Mixes Age: < 1 yrs old Males, neutered 10 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Rocco and Milhouse were left in the shelter’s night drop box in a cardboard box. They were very unsocialized (likely they were just backyard puppies that no one wanted). The shelter staff were unable to handle them, and they were deemed “unadoptable” so they contacted us. We originally took the dog with the most issues (Rocco), thinking maybe Milhouse would eventually come around. Rocco remained skittish in his foster home, while Milhouse became more handle-able. We decided to also pull Milhouse into a different foster home to evaluate him. It was decided to reunite the brothers in the same foster home to see if that would help with their insecurities. It did - Rocco started making progress. We have decided to adopt them out together. Both puppies get along with each other and other dogs. They are still somewhat insecure - Rocco is more “alpha” and vocal about his insecurities, while Milhouse is more submissive and needy. Neither dog has shown fear aggression. If you have a chance to grab Rocco, he submits pretty quickly to being held and given attention. They walk on leashes and are doing well with housebreaking. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Rocco and Milhouse, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

We adopted Gatsby from the SPCA when he was a pup. Had him for about 2 years. He is very good at fetch and tug of war. Loves to cuddle and sleep. He does get nervous around new people and needs to warm up to you before making big moves. Usually we use treats and have new people give him treats to build a friendship. He personally loves big squishy beds to sleep on. Overall loved Gatsby but due to living situation we cant keep him.

Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereThis Dog is Available By Appointment Only Sabina is a hidden gem. She's very sweet, loyal, cuddly, on the quiet side, walks great on leash, and is potty trained. She doesn't mind other dogs but prefers to keep to herself and is more of an introvert than a social butterfly. Given her mellow attitude, she may not mind cats, but she has not been exposed to them. She gets nervous in new environments and spooked by loud and unexpected noises, so a home with older children would be best to ensure she's her best self. She's very mellow and spends most of her day relaxing in her bed or cuddling with you on the couch. She's also an excellent overnight guest; she sleeps through the night and rarely moves from her spot. She's not a huge barker; we've only seen her bark when my resident chihuahua starts it, and she joins in. She's great for someone looking for a smaller dog without the giant attitude. We have not been crate-training her, given that she is not destructive when we are gone, although she is used to being in her playpen and can be left in there overnight or while you're out. She prefers to be next to you rather than tucked away. We are working on separation anxiety and possessiveness; she growls when we are petting or cuddling with her, and other dogs get close. She also cries when no humans are in the room, but this has been happening less and less as she gets used to us. We are working on these with her, and she seems to respond well to consistent training, treats, pets, and verbal rewards. Sabina is a flight risk and will run off if she is spooked, so whoever adopts her should do on-leash walks only with her for as long as needed as she gets used to her new environment. Sabina has bloomed so much in her time with us; she went from terrified and distant to sweet and cuddly. She is a prime example of what a little love and a feeling of safety can do. She would be ideal in a home that wants a close companion and can give her a consistent routine in a calm environment. We hope that she goes to someone who is patient and willing to earn her trust. Ideally, someone whose love language is cuddles and affection. Sabina will be sure to return that love a hundredfold. Story
Pomeranian Age: 1-2 yrs old Male, neutered 11 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Fritz was dropped off at the emergency vet by someone who saw him limping. It was determined that he had a fractured left front leg, likely as the result of being hit by a car. No one came to claim him, so the vet splinted the leg and transferred him to the Stockton Shelter. They contacted us to rescue him. The fractured leg needed surgery, which we provided. After the leg was fully healed, the surgeon decided to remove the plates and pins with a second surgery. Fritz is a VERY FRIENDLY, VERY ENERGETIC young dog. He needs LOTS of exercise and playtime. He loves playing with other dogs, but can be fairly aggressive in his play style. We think it would be better for him to have a canine playmate living in the home, but it would have to be a dog that likes rough and energetic play. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Fritz, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com
