Story
Meet Pip — one tiny, tiny little man with a heart far bigger than his 4 pounds! To say he’s precious hardly begins to describe him. Pip was found abandoned in a box with his best friend, Squeak — two tiny souls who stuck together through it all. Now this gentle little fellow, with his darling deer face and soulful eyes, is ready to find the loving home he’s always deserved. Because he’s so small, Pip can be a bit shy when he first meets new people, but once he feels safe, he’ll melt right into you and happily curl up in your lap. He’s a quiet, tender- hearted boy who does beautifully with other gentle dogs and adores cuddling up with Squeak in their crate. Pip is potty trained, crate trained, and even manages stairs like a pro! He’d thrive best in a calm, low-to-moderate energy home with someone who understands how to care for a tiny dog. Pip and Squeak don’t have to be adopted together, but it would make both their little hearts so happy if they could stay side by side. Whether he joins your family solo or with his best girl, one thing’s for sure: Pip may be small enough to fit in your arms, but he’ll fill your heart to the brim with love.

Oh, Suzie Q! What a precious little pup she is—shy, sensitive, and so very sweet. One look into her big brown eyes and your heart will simply melt. She’s still building her confidence and will need some patience, guidance, and basic training, but the good news is she feels safe and happy around other dogs, making her a wonderful candidate for a multi-dog home. She’s already spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations, ready to begin her new life. More than anything, Suzie Q dreams of a family all her own, one who will give her the love and care she has always deserved and where her darling personality will blossom. And in return, this sweet little girl promises to be the most devoted companion and faithful friend you could ever hope to meet.

Now meet the second half of this tiny twosome — Miss Squeak, a 4.5-pound bundle of sweetness with a heart full of love. Like her best friend Pip, Squeak was found abandoned in a box, but she’s ready to leave that sad chapter behind and step into the happy life she deserves — one where she can finally be the princess of her own castle. With her dainty face, big brown eyes, and delicate deer-like features, Squeak is as darling as they come. Though shy at first, she quickly warms up and will soon be snuggled in your lap, content to soak up all the love you have to give. She’s housebroken, vaccinated, and well- mannered — a gentle little lady who gets along beautifully with Pip and other kind, well-behaved dogs. Because she’s such a tiny girl, Squeak would do best with someone experienced with small dogs who can keep her safe and loved. While she doesn’t have to be adopted with Pip, it would be a dream come true for them both to stay together. No matter what, Squeak is ready to fill someone’s home — and heart — with pure joy. Could that someone be you? Once you meet her, you’ll wonder how something so small can bring so much love into your life.

Story
Hi there! My name is Sunset and I'm a 10-month-old, spayed, Chihuahua that currently weighs about 11lbs. I'm a sweet and dainty young pup that's still learning about the great big world. I start off on the timid side, but if you give me plenty of love, patience, and treats, I'll be your best friend! I'm hoping for a family that is prepared to let me take my time to adjust to my new home. I promise I'm worth the wait! I'm currently living with my foster sister, so maybe I'll get along with your resident dog. I'd just like a chance to meet him or her, as well as all of the humans in the household, before I officially join your family. For more information, about me, just ask Customer Service about Sunset! ID# A965030 My foster mom thinks I'm swell! Here's how I'm doing in foster care: Sunset is a shy little girl that is looking for a patient family that will give her tons of time to warm up to new people. Once she is used to her new surroundings though, she is affectionate, curious, and wants to play with all the dog toys! She loves to explore once she's ready, and she will ask for pets and snuggles when she's comfortable with you. She has lived with other dogs before and would love a playmate that respects her space. She is crate trained, and we have been working on house training. She's even learned to use the dog door! How to meet me Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing behavior@phs-spca.org You may also submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. You must be 18 or older to submit a profile.  Application: https://phs-spca.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AdoptionProfiles_dog2023_fillin.pdf *The application may not work on mobile devices and iPads. Story
So very pleased to meet you all, my name is Goose! I'm a 2 year old, 11lbs., neutered male Chihuahua mix. I'm a gentle but timid little man that's looking for a home where I can be showered with love, attention, and treats. I start off on the shy side, so I'm hoping for a patient and loving family that has experience with teaching under-socialized pups like me how to trust and love again. I promise I'm worth the wait! And I know with a little help I can be a playful pup just like any other 2 year old. I don't mind the company of mellow dogs that are my size, but I prefer to enjoy relaxing and just hanging out to playing. At least for the moment.    Goose ID# A974680Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by.
