Story
Chihuahuas are some of the most beloved breeds in America today. Their small bodies and tender, loving souls bring the kind of affection that so many people are searching for. They don’t need much space or food, yet they give enormous companionship, loyalty, and joy. These little dogs want to be at the center of their person’s world, creating bonds that last a lifetime and leaving a legacy of love that endures even after they are gone.   Grant’s story is one of resilience and hope. He came from a home with too many dogs and not enough care, ending up in a tiny shelter in Tennessee, frightened and unsure of the world. Despite this uncertain past, Grant has a gentle heart and a sweet, affectionate nature that is shining through more every day.   Grant is a handsome 1-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua with the most charming white sock “leggings” that make him truly stand out. He’s a tall little boy with a big heart, and though he can be a bit nervous at first, he is making remarkable progress in just two weeks with us. Like a child a little afraid of the dark, Grant simply needs patience, love, and gentle reassurance. Once he feels safe, he will gladly curl up in your lap, soak up attention, and shower you with affection.   He is good with other dogs, though sometimes a little bossy at first—likely a habit from his uncertain past—but he quickly backs down once he feels secure. Grant is mostly housebroken and does well in a home without a crate. He is a climber and clever little adventurer, so confining him isn’t the best idea. He thrives when allowed to move freely, and he won’t tear anything up.   Grant is a small dog with enormous potential to become a loving, devoted companion for the right person. He is ready to blossom in a home that will give him the patience and affection he deserves, one cozy, comforting day at a time.   To make Grant a part of your life, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Please include your city and state.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 8, 2026, 5:50 pm

Story
Pacino Pepe is a 9 year old White Chihuahua with the biggest and sweetest eyes you have ever seen.  This tiny 5 pound boy has been a loyal partner for years to an older woman with MS and cancer and now she has passed and he is an orphan looking for a new senior home to bright some joy and love to. He lived with his former Mom and was deeply bonded with her as she was fairly isolated and never left the house. This boy is housebroken and pee pad trained but will go outside as well. He will make a fuss if you leave the room and he is not with you. A homebody person that just loves the home environment and  puttering outside in the yard could be the ideal new adopter for Pacino Pepe. He does get along with other dogs but he truly wants to claim his female person immediately and follow her everywhere. The foster family went to church with his mom and reassured her they would fine him a home. He is a very affectionate dog  that is crate trained and housebroken.  He is also comfortable with frequent visitors of various ages as well. If you are interested in Pacino Pepe please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  He has a long and healthy life ahead of him and has recently passed his bloodwork with flying colors and had a dental.  He is of course neutered and heartworm negative and microchipped.

🐾 Meet the Mini Dumbo Sisters! 🐾 Three sisters. Three tiny bodies. Three HUGE personalities — and ears big enough that we’re worried they might fly away! 😂 Meet Pebbles, Dora, and Trixie, three adorable little girls who are approximately 9–10 weeks old and currently weigh right at 3 lbs each. We don’t expect them to get much bigger than 12 lbs once full grown. A Good Samaritan found these three roaming their property in South Texas, with no mom or dad anywhere in sight. We believe they are Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mixes, and whatever their exact mix may be, one thing is certain: they are absolutely precious. These girls are incredibly sweet and will literally crawl toward you when they get excited. Start baby-talking them and their tiny butts start wiggling with happiness! They’re still figuring out this whole “toys” thing, but they’re learning quickly and starting to discover how much fun they can be. 🩷 Pebbles — Tan & White Pebbles is the shy sister of the bunch. She needs someone willing to give her a little extra patience, love, and encouragement while she builds her confidence. Her favorite place in the world is your lap — it’s where she feels safest. Pebbles would do best in a quieter household, ideally with a confident, friendly dog who can help show her that the world isn’t so scary. Once she feels comfortable, we think this little girl is going to blossom into an incredibly loving companion. 🖤 Dora — Black & White Dora is one of the more social and playful sisters. She loves attention, enjoys being around her people, and is happy to hand out tiny puppy kisses. She’s sweet, silly, and ready to find a family who will let her continue learning and growing into the fun little dog she’s meant to be. 🤍 Trixie — White & Black Trixie is also social, playful, and full of puppy charm. Like Dora, she loves people and is always happy to offer up some puppy kisses. She may be tiny, but she has plenty of personality packed into that little body! 🏡 What kind of homes are they looking for? Dora and Trixie would do wonderfully with gentle children of all ages and in moderately active households. Pebbles would prefer a quieter home where she can take things at her own pace. A confident, friendly dog in the home could be a wonderful role model for her. A few things their future families should know: 🚽 House-trained? We hate to break it to you, but… absolutely not! 😂 They’re only 9–10 weeks old and tiny, so potty training will be a work in progress for their new families. 🏠 Crate fans? Not exactly. These girls would much rather be snuggled up with their humans. 🐕 Big dog barks? They can be nervous when a big dog starts barking, but with patience and positive experiences, we expect them to gain confidence. 🐱 Cats? The cats they've encountered are all bigger than they are, so they haven't had any issues with kitties. 👧 Kids? Dora and Trixie should do well with gentle children of all ages. As with any puppy, supervision and teaching children how to interact respectfully with them will be important. These three may be small but mighty, but don’t let those tiny bodies fool you. They are sweet, playful, friendly, fun little girls who love attention, give kisses, and are ready to become someone's very best friend. Pebbles, Dora, and Trixie are looking for the very best homes where they can grow, learn, and be spoiled like the tiny princesses they are. 👑🐾 And seriously… those ears. We warned you about the flying. 🥹✈️ PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW IF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING: The next step to adopt is to fill out an application on our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org These puppies are current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We have mainly adopted only in the Northeast but are expanding to include Midwest and PNW starting in September of 2026 The adoption fee listed ($795) INCLUDES transport from Texas to one or around one of the locations below. Transport goes to or around the following locations every 1, 2 or 3 weeks: Albany, NY - Port Chester, NY area - Anemia, NY Wells, VT and Brattleboro, VT Nashua, NH Willington, CT - Stamford, CT - Dayville, CT Steubenville, OH – Cincinnati, OH – Grove City, OH Grove City, PA and Washington, PA Ridgefield, NJ - Bordentown, NJ - Egg Harbor City, NJ Emmitsburg, MD - Elkton, MD - Hagerstown, MD Falls Church, VA and Glenn Allen, VA Adding new Stops to the PNW: Boise, ID Portland, OR Tumwater, WA – Bothell, WA – Bellingham, WA Missoula, MT – Laurel, MT We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is the best fit for your home. Story
Meet Princessa! Princessa is a 3-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing about 8 pounds. She recently came into our care after her owners were moving and were unable to take her with them. She's a sweet little girl who loves people and makes a great lap dog. She also has a playful side and loves toys, especially playing with a soccer ball! She does well in the car and enjoys being with her people. Princessa would prefer to be the only dog in her new home, where she can have all the attention to herself. She recently had a great vet checkup and is healthy. Princessa has had a litter of puppies in the past and will be spayed while in our care. She's ready to find a family of her own! ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications! 2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. We may not be able to respond to applications that are not completely filled out with the proper information. Side note: on our applications, the more details you provide = the better. 3. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply. However, please note we do prioritize local applications as we try our best to serve our local community first.) 4. Please respect our organization, our volunteers and our process. As a reminder, our organization is a nonprofit. We receive no money from the state. We have no paid employees! This is a polite reminder that we are doing our best to make the right decisions for the animals in our care. Thank you.
