Story
This little guy is Poochie.  He's about a year old and he weighs just under 15 pounds.  His owner went into hospice and the owner's family left Poochie behind in the empty house.  He was discovered about a week later by a neighbor who went in to check on things and she found poor little Poochie all alone without any food or water.   He's now safe with a foster who says he is a friendly boy who is good with all - people, dogs and cats. Poochie is up to date on his vaccinations, and he will be neutered prior to adoption.  Once adopted, he will arrive on our next transport to the NJ area. Personality: friendly Good with: people of all ages (including kids), dogs, and cats Training: unknown at this time Estimated age: about a year old Weight: 15 pounds Medical: vetted, up to date on vaccinations, will be neutered, microchipped Location: Currently located with a foster in Texas, but if adopted, will come to the NJ area on our next transport. Story
Of course this little boy is all smiles...that's how he got his name!  Meet Smiley - we think he's a chi mix who is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 22 pounds.  He's a happy go lucky guy who gets along very well with other dogs and loves people.  He is up to date on his vaccinations and has been neutered. He was a stray who pretended to be a cat.  Just kidding, but that is how he was brought into rescue.  One of our rescue partners routinely leaves food out in her back yard for the stray cats in her neighborhood, and this little guy kept coming by to eat the cat food.  He flashed her his beautiful smile, she brought him inside, and the rest is history.  Now he just needs to find his forever home! He's crate trained, and described as being a loving, playful and funny little boy.  He's currently located with a foster in TX, but if adopted, will come to the NJ area on our next transport. Personality: friendly, playful, affectionate, funny Good with: people of all ages (including kids), and dogs.  Has not been cat tested yet. Training: crate trained Estimated date of birth: March 2024 Weight: 22 pounds Medical: vetted, up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped Location: Currently located with a foster in Texas, but if adopted, will come to the NJ area on our next transport. Story
***OPIE AND PEARL ARE LOCATED AROUND THE FITZWILLIAM, NH IN A FOSTER HOME BUT CAN BE TRANSPORTED BACK DOWN SOUTH TO MARYLAND, NEW JERSEY OR PA*** Opie and Pearl are 2 gorgeous chi/terrier mix pups that are as sweet as can be. Opie is the male and he weighs approximately 16 lbs. Pearl is the female, and she weighs right at 10 lbs. We believe they were born around September 30th, which will put them around 5.5 months old. We do not believe they will get much bigger than they are now as they have already hit their growth spurt. They are siblings, and they do get along wonderfully, but we do not require them to be adopted together. But if you’re looking for 2 pups, these 2 would make a wonderful pair also. One of our volunteers was driving down the road in Texas, by the Mexico border, when these 2 puppies ran out in the road and almost got ran over. They were not street smart. Our volunteer followed the puppies and found the home they belonged to. We found out these 2 puppies (and the momma dog) belonged to a couple who had gotten them for their adult autistic son. The puppies and mom had never seen a veterinarian, and they did not have a fence to secure them, so they would just open the door and let the dogs out to go running the streets and neighborhood. Thankfully, they agreed to surrender the puppies to us, but unfortunately, they would not let us have the mom. The mom weighed around 18 lbs. These pups are very sweet and start wiggling their butts when they become comfortable with you, which doesn’t take long. They love rolling over for tummy rubs and just melt into you. Opie is much more outgoing and is just a little energizer bunny. He loves everyone and everything. He barrels into every room like that room was made specifically for him. The foster describes it as Opie needs to work on his entry; He pounces all over the bed when he announces his arrival. Opie would be perfect for a home that is more a bit more active and wants a dog to go on adventures, play with their children. Don’t be fooled though, Opie loves his cuddles! Pearl is much gentler than Opie. She wants to be next to you and in your lap, curled up and cuddling with you. Pearl loves to be your shadow and be as close to you as you can be. She would prefer someone home more than not. She doesn’t need as much exercise as Opie does, but she does get into her own little mischief. Pearl would be better for someone with slightly older children that are well-behaved and kind. They are both very curious pups and love exploring and learning new things. While they are quite different, they are like ying and yang, their personalities just mesh well, and they get along amazing together and love to cuddle with each other. Both Opie and Pearl do wonderful with other dogs and are currently fostered with 3 other small breed adult dogs. They have met cats and do fine with them. They have toys and enjoy playing with them, but they enjoy mischief a little bit more. When they are in their crate, they think the best game is which one can pull more stuff into the crate from outside of the crate. Pearl and Opie love sleeping on the bed/couch! They are crate trained, and working on full house training. If you’re looking for a smaller dog that doesn’t shed too much, enjoy being held, will be the most loyal companions and follow you everywhere and cuddle when you let them, please look no further than Opie or Pearl. These babies are FIXED (spayed/neutered), current on all 4 series of parvo/distemper vaccinations, current on bordatella, current on annual rabies vaccine, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, current on dewormer, microchipped, fecal test is negative, and have received a clean bill of health from a veterinarian. The adoption fee also includes the transport from Texas (where they came from) to the Northeast. To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org

Story
Abby C. is a sensitive, thoughtful girl (not yet 2 years old) who does best in a calm, predictable environment. She prefers women to men and would thrive in an all-female home or with a very patient, understanding male. Abby is not a good fit for a home with children and needs time and space to adjust to new people and surroundings. But don’t mistake her timidity for lack of energy. She gets excited when she’s with her favorite person and becomes a total goofball, complete with zoomies and tail-chasing.  In boarding,  Abby did well in a group of dogs, though she generally prefers to keep to herself rather than be the center of attention. She would be happy as an only dog or with a canine companion who can match her energy. Abby C. is best suited for someone willing to go slow, earn her trust, and appreciate a dog who forms deep bonds once she feels secure. Story
Meet Taco! Taco is a 9 month old, 20 lb neutered male who is full of fun and personality. This high energy little guy loves to run and play. He is smart and already knows basic commands like sit, stay, and recall. He is a quick learner who is eager to please. Taco loves being with his humans just as much as he loves playing with his toys. He is great with cats, kids, and other dogs, making him a wonderful fit for many types of homes. Here’s what his foster wants you to know: 1. Taco loves meeting new people 2. He barks when he sees a dog, but he's not at all aggressive, just excited and talking 3. He is free to roam and does great.   4. He has learned to sit, wait, down and paw  5. Still training on leash walking.  He does tend to pull a bit.  6. Very quiet, rarely barks inside the house, only if he hears a bark or sees a dog outside.   7.  When visitors come, he will bark but will calm and settle quickly 8. Loves and watches TV intently Taco looks like a Chihuahua and Feist mix and has the cutest little stub tail that adds to his charm. If you are looking for a playful, affectionate pup who is ready for both adventure and cuddle time, Taco might be your perfect match. If you’d like to adopt Taco,  please apply at: www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application (Accessible on a laptop or computer.)    If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG!
