Pluto is a fun friendly young guy, only about 2-3 years old but with some medical issues already at his young age... he has a significant heart murmur and some heart disease, and was blind in one eye due to either an old injury or congenital defect. He's since had his painful eye removed and has recovered well from surgery. He's been started on heart medication (vetmedin) longterm to hopefully keep him alive and well as long as possible, and isn't showing any outward signs of heart disease at this time. Pluto craves human attention and is a fun active pup, loves to shred stuffed toys and go for walks. He loves to play with (spayed!) female dogs (and flirt a bit), can be a little more choosy about male doggy friends, and loudly announces himself when he sees other dogs on walks. This is a sad story, Eddie's owner passed away suddenly. Her father took in her 3 dogs but being a disabled Veteran, he simply could not take care of all 3 dogs. Eddie is very young and lively. The other two dogs are older and very laid back. He reached out to us to see if we could find Eddie a good home and of course we agreed to take him into the rescue. Eddie would thrive in a home with young children as he loves to run and jump and play! He has tons of energy and he's very smart. He's a small dog and we are simply guessing that he has some Chihuahua in him but without a DNA, nobody knows for sure! We do know that he needs a family to call his own and we would love for you to adopt him!

We got a call from a woman whose mother wanted to rehome her 2 Chihuahuas after having them since they were 6 weeks old! We took them in immediately. Their teeth were horrific, they had never had a dental in their entire lives. With small dogs it is crucial to keep up with professional dental cleanings. It can lead to many health problems if you don't. Luckily, they are otherwise very healthy, their bloodwork was perfect, they are heart worm negative and now they have a nice shiny smile! They are both house broken and walk well on a leash. They are also both spayed and microchipped so they are ready for immediate transport. We would love for them to stay together but we also understand that that may not be possible and we think that they will be fine if they are separated.

Our precious little Chihuahua boy is called Timid Timothy and at just 18 months old and 6 pounds soaking wet, this boy has had to grow up fast. Found on May 29 in a hoarding situation where there were 112 chihuahuas, adult and puppies, this boy was living in the worse conditions you can imagine. Despite all of this our boy Timid Timothy has a resilient spirit that was left him a tad 'Timid' but still he hangs close to one of the female momma Chis who has been so depressed and not moving around much. He has stayed by her side as if to comfort her and to reassure her since he is one of the few familiar dogs she has known. He is such a little Angel Guardian and slowly he himself has been craving some love and petting and wagging his tail at his foster momma. He is almost housebroken which is amazing and he is investigating the cats in the home and the big dogs too. Timothy is just the perfect little Chihuahua that will of course shake a little when in a new unfamiliar situation and then once reassured, he is settled and calm. Timothy needs a person with a big heart that needs to be needed. He wants to love someone and find a safe place in life to grow old and make someone's purpose each day a good one to spend with him.
