After an elderly owner passed away, the home was found with deceased cats, one surviving cat, and Charlie — who had been left confined in the bathroom with a wire muzzle tied around his mouth. After the scene was cleared by authorities and the landlord, Charlie was placed in temporary care and then transferred to a municipal shelter.
