Story
Straight from the bushes of Victorville comes the Doris Day Litter, a crew of 8 week old Corgi and Norfolk Terrier Mixes with a whole lot of growing up to do! These little adventurers started life in an unexpected place, but their story is just getting started, and their next chapter could be with you. This family of seven includes five girls and two boys who arrived with their mama, Doris Day. With their Corgi and Norfolk Terrier Mix heritage, they may grow into some seriously entertaining companions, ready to turn everyday routines into little adventures. Their social circle can include kids, dogs, and cats, making them a great group to consider for a home with a lively mix of family members and furry friends. Now all that’s missing is a family ready to help one of these youngsters discover the world! We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. Please find our application at lovejoyfoundation.org when you come to an event please bring that filled out in hand with you. You can find our application at Lovejoyfoundation.org. Please note a Petfinder and Adoptapet Inquiry is not applying for the dog. You have to come to the event or send an email inquiry to our records email.

Story
Meet Bo! Bo is a 5-year-old All-American mutt — somewhere between a Corgi and a dachshund, about 30 pounds of pure personality. He’s playful, energetic, and extremely affectionate, and he’s looking for an active person to play with, go on long walks, and maybe hit the dog park together. Bo is a friendly guy, but when he picks you, he is fiercely loyal. He bonds deeply with his person, which means he needs an adopter willing to work with him on feeling secure — he can be protective of the people he loves. His foster parents have seen significant improvement with consistent training and patience, so this is very workable with the right match. Bo would fit best with: •Adults comfortable working with a bonded, loyal dog • A calm, predictable home environment • Someone who loves being active — walks, play, outdoor adventures • Someone ready to commit to ongoing training A few things to know: • In his first weeks home, keep things low-key — no parties or big introductions while he’s settling in. • Bo does well with other dogs in the home. • His protectiveness is tied to his person and responds well to training. He has shown leash aggression, but this is improving with assertive human leadership. Bo is fixed and up to date on vaccines. He does not use pee pads because he knows not to pee or poop inside the house. He is crate-trained. Why he’s worth the wait: Bo is affectionate, playful, funny, cuddly, and happy. He’s had a rough go of it, spending time in a high-kill shelter, and he’s a sensitive soul who just needs someone to commit to him the way he will commit to them.

Story
Howdy, partner! Meet Ritchie, a stout, handsome little fellow with a soft coat, a sturdy build, and a look that might make you think of a Cowboy Corgi! This approximately 2-year-old mystery mix is one of the brave little souls who came to the Jason Heigl Foundation in Oakley, Utah, after being found living as a stray on the streets of Bakersfield, California. Ritchie and his little gang of friends arrived knowing very little about the kindness people could offer, and the big, unfamiliar world was a pretty scary place. Since then, he’s been taking small but meaningful steps toward trusting the humans around him. His journey is still unfolding, but we know there’s a whole lot of potential packed into this handsome, low-riding package! Ritchie is searching for a forever home—or a foster-to-forever family—willing to give him the time and encouragement he needs to discover just how good life can be. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and crate trained, so he’s ready to start learning the joys of home life with someone in his corner. Underneath that rugged little cowboy exterior is a sensitive soul who needs a gentle approach and a little patience. Ritchie does well with other small dogs in our kennels and enjoys getting out into the play yard, where he can explore and have fun. Leashed walks are another way for him to experience the world safely, and the promise of a tasty treat is always a welcome bonus! His crate is his personal safe haven, giving him a cozy place to retreat when he needs some reassurance. Since Ritchie hasn’t yet lived in a home, he’ll need help learning household routines, including consistent potty habits. His new family should also understand that, like many formerly feral dogs, he may take time to feel comfortable with new people and unfamiliar situations. If startled or frightened, he could bolt, making secure fencing, careful supervision, and a leash whenever he’s outdoors essential. With predictable routines, patient guidance, and a calm environment, Ritchie can continue building the confidence he needs to feel truly at home. This little cowboy doesn’t need a ranch, a saddle, or even a pair of spurs—just a kind human willing to give him the greatest gift of all: time. Ritchie may need to take the scenic route to confidence, but every brave step forward will be worth celebrating. A patient adopter or foster-to-forever family who understands his background can help him trade uncertainty for security and gradually discover the pleasures of being someone’s beloved companion. A friendly small-dog buddy could be a welcome addition, too! We believe that with love, structure, consistency, and plenty of delicious treats, this stout and soft-hearted gentleman can grow into the happy, confident dog he was always meant to be. If you have room in your heart for a handsome little cowboy who deserves a fresh start, Ritchie is ready to ride off into his happily-ever-after—one small step at a time. He is available to adopted in Utah. Please visit our website to complete an adoption application for Ritchie: https://jasonheigl.foundation/adopt/dog/ritchie/
