Gizmo has lived an isolated life there, so he may take just a short time to feel comfortable with new things but yummy treats make that happen so much quicker. 18 pounds, a few years old, generally well behaved and housebroken. Gets along great with the dogs in the foster home, doing great learning skills like housebreaking and is generally an easy going sweet boy. Needs a little time to warm up in the beginning but he will quickly be your lap dog with some yummy treats. Meet Ashley, a fun, loving female, about 13 pounds at 1 year old. A delightful mix of dachshund and who knows what else. Gets along great with the dogs in the foster home, loves hanging on her foster daddy's lap, doing great learning skills like housebreaking. Ashley will start off fairly shy but turns into a sweetheart if you just give her a little time-is very food motivated so yummy treats make everything happen much quicker. Snuggle BuddyMEET MAGNOLIA! (Descriptor: Snuggle buddy) This snuggly little puppy is 3 months old (as of May 2024) and approximately weighs 13 pounds. Magnolia and her sister Daisy were found hiding in the grass on the side of a road in Louisiana. Both are safe at Tara's House looking for their forever home. She is quickly settling into her new foster home and is a big fan of chewing as every puppy does, but we are working on breaking this habit. Gets along well with her foster siblings and loves to play with them. Sleeps through the night well in a crate or loose about the house. She loves to snuggle and her soft fur makes it easy to cuddle. She is very treat motivated. Magnolia’s adoption donation fee is $450, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. We want to make sure you know this is not an illusion :P Yep, Elena is 100% pug/dachshund wanna be and probably a beagle is mixed somewhere there. Do we have a DNA test? Nope this is our not so educated guess because we’re stumped by what this gorgeous and unique looking 20lbs, 5-7 months old girl might be. Elena comes to us as a stray found roaming around DC. We have no clue how she avoided being hit by a car but most likely she was zooming her way under cars and in between tires! Zooming is the word of emphasis for this girl. Do not be fooled by her short legs, cause she gives the lab, the dane and the pittie in the house a good exercise either trying to catch them or them catch her. She is so much fun to watch. She forgets she’s a short muzzle dog so her foster mom has to stop the play sessions to bring her into the air-conditioning before this kid passes out. Her background is unknown but she’s been friendly to all the dogs in the foster home and even friendlier to all the humans. She’s excited to be doing anything and everything, as long as she’s part of the action. As a matter of fact she gets so excited she gets bouts of reversed sneezing! She’s great at sleeping through the night in her crate, but once there’s movement around she’ll let the whole house know she’s ready to get out of the crate. As always, we never promote our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly. We do not know how she is with kids, cats or horses. Interested in meeting Elena? People say I remind them of cookies and cream when I give them sweet kisses on the nose or bump up and snuggle with them when they're feeling down. I am a Dachshund-Basset mix and medium sized about 30# full grown. Sitting on people's couches or laps is my favorite pastime as I get to snuggle close to the people I love, which is practically everyone! I LOVE OTHER DOGS TOO!!
