Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Chelsea, AL Meet Dorothy Mae! She is an 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 51 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Dorothy Mae is great with kids, cats, and dogs! She tested positive for heartworms and started the slow kill protocol. She is given heartgard for her heartworm. She was originally found running in a rural area and was never claimed. The current owner is surrendering her because they already have other dogs. She needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Dorothy Mae, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. Story

This is Jinx! A 5 month old aussie puppy who came from a bad beginning and is ready for his fresh start. Jinx is a full australian shepherd…with a tail! And he definitely proves it. Jinx has a high toy and prey drive. He can be nippy and barky when playing chase with other dogs, but has gotten along well with all dogs. He does well with cats too, but will chase them if provoked. He has been introduced to children and gotten along with them, but because of his tendency to nip I would recommend a home with older children. He loves treats, but I would say he is medium food drive as he can get distracted and uninterested easily. He is crate and potty trained. Sleeps in his kennel at night with no problems. He is also used to riding in the car in a crate, but will sometimes wine/bark for the first few minutes in the car. He is very high energy and has a hard time settling outside the crate, but I think this could be worked on as he picks up on skills quickly. He loves to cuddle, but prefers his alone time in his kennel when he gets sleepy. He has shown a good disc drive and has been introduced to water, but was uninterested/did not want to swim. I think he would make a fun disc dog. He is a happy go lucky puppy who always has a smile on his face! She hasn't been tested around cats. She is crate-trained and housebroken. The owner is surrendering her because she snaps at their younger children. They also are unable to provide the training that she needs. Koda loves to cuddle, but can be skiddish. She urinates when meeting new people or because the younger children are playing and yelling. Welcome! This is our brown lab mix, Harper Lynn. We adopted her as a new puppy from our local shelter… as those sweet eyes caught our eyes walking by her. We fully went in with 100% lifetime commitment to her. We started training day 1 and boy is this dog smart! She is potty trained, can sit, lay down, shake, play fetch, speak on command, etc. She is kennel trained and it’s her safe space with a blanket and chew toy (but not too long she’d rather be playing fetch, going for a walk, or just following you around! Lol). She NEEDS a big yard fenced or land to run and play on, as that is how she thrives! She either sleeps in bed or her kennel so indoors at night is ideal for her. She’s AMAZING in the car long or short distance. She is high energy with newness but calm after, as she’s still a pup. As My husband is full time on the road and we have a baby on the way, we just cannot accommodate her as we so wished and tried. Thank you for your time!

Meet Mickey, our adorable mystery dog that’s most likely an Australian Shepherd and/or Catahoula Leopord. We found him abandoned at the Birmingham Airport and have been taking care of him since he was a puppy. Mickey is now about 9 months old. Mickey is an energetic and affectionate dog who loves to play and cuddle. However, due to our busy schedules, we can't give him the training and attention he truly deserves. We're hoping to find a loving home for Mickey with someone who can grow with him and provide him with the care he needs. Mickey has received the following vaccinations in December 2023: DA2PP, Leptospirosis, Lyme, and Canine Influenza. We are unsure if he needs any additional shots at this time. If you're looking for a young, lively companion, Mickey might be the perfect addition to your family!
