Story
Thank you for your interest in adopting. Sunny was found stray 16 months ago in Bessemer with two other dogs. We believe that they had been put out on the highway by there previous owner. She is the last of the three dogs to find her home. Sunny is a wonderful dog for the right person. She spends her day laying in a fenced yard, watching the deer or the mailman drive-by. She does not dig her yard, she has never tried to get out of her chain-link fence, she doesn’t bother anything in the house, She rarely barks and when she does, it’s a very low bark, nothing obnoxious. Sunny does not get along with other dogs. It’s not her fault, she sees them as a threat to her resources, and that’s not unusual for a dog that came from a neglected background. Sunny needs to be the only dog in her home and that home preferably would not include a man. She suitable for a retired lady, someone that doesn’t have kids or grandchildren, or a widow. She bonds with her caregiver. Sunny was adopted last fall, but she did not do well with a man in the house. He said if his wife was single, she would have the best dog in the world. She could also go to a Home where she is put away when there is a maintenance man in the house, when someone comes to visit, or if she’s not comfortable. Sunny needs a dog savvy person. This dog simply needs to live with a woman. She’s a wonderful dog. She doesn’t bother anything in the house or in the yard. She’s full of love and happy tail wags. She could be walked any wear on a leash, and she is not reactive. She loves her walks. Maybe you need a friend to walk with you? Sunny is spayed, heartworm negative, current on vaccines, and receiving parasite prevention. Her fee is sponsored to the Approved Home. If you are seriously interested in adopting this dog and communicating further, please fill out the application online. Applicant should have a fenced yard and no other animals at home. We would be happy to meet at a local park. She is great on a leash on a walk, even if dogs are on the same street. She is totally fine leashed! https://form.jotform.com/212574701956157 Copy and paste the link into your browser.

Story
Thank you for your interest in adopting. Patches came into rescue in the fall of 2022. He had been rehomed by his family and then found stray a couple of weeks later. The people who had Patches did not want him back. He was the unfortunate victim of neglect in his first months of life. Patches weighs 45 pounds and lives in a foster home with other dogs. His foster tells us that when she puts on her shoes, he runs to his crate. Patches would do best with another playful dog in his home and a fenced yard. He loves to play with dogs of various sizes. We cannot guarantee his breed. He has what appears to be a naturally short tail. We have a few pictures where he looks like. He has some boxer in him. He’s a very sweet and submissive dog. He would do well with some one on one attention. He deserves that. Patches is neutered, heartworm, negative, micro, chipped, current on vaccines, and receiving parasite prevention Serious Adopter should fill out the application online Copy and paste the link into your browser. https://form.jotform.com/212574701956157 Patches adoption fee is reduced to $200.

Thank you for your interest in Skeeter. We'd be happy to put you in touch with his foster Mom. Skeet is great with other dogs. He would also do well in a home where he gets the attention. He came into rescue bald and overweight. His owner thought he had allergies and never took him to the Vet. One look at him and we knew he ust needed a flea pill to recover and grow his coat. Skeeter is 8 years old. His health and bloodwork was A+ at the vet. He weighs about 19 pounds and still needs to loose a little more. He does have arthritis sometimes on his front ankle. He is neutered and up to date on everything. Skeeter needs a home with no stairs or someone able to carry him. He cannot do steps with his old man short legs. You can meet Skeeter and decide. $100 adoption fee. Please fill out the application online. Copy and paste the link into your browser. https://form.jotform.com/212574701956157 Thank you.

Story
Thank you for your interest in adopting Sissy is approximately six months old and weighs 10 pounds. We believe she is a Chihuahua mix. Her brother looked like a long-haired Chihuahua mix or a Papillion Chihuahua. We don’t know where this brindle coat that comes from but it is beautiful. Sissy and her brother were rescued from the side of the highway in Chilton County. Sissy is good with other dogs of various ages and sizes. She has barked at the cats that she has seen. She is quite entertaining, she keeps her attention on her person, and she’s a really great find!! Sissy has just started crate training. We believe she will do better in a home where someone is home more often than not so she won’t be crated more than at night. Although she’s sleeping in her foster mom’s bed! A stay at home mom, someone retired, and not an apartment dog because she will bark when she is unsure. She would be an easy second dog. She would do better with another dog in the home since we recently split her up from her brother. Her constant companion. Every adoption includes spay or neuter, age, appropriate vaccines, microchip, multiple dewormings, and Puppy receives parasite prevention. This little dog is a sweetheart. She’s a great find in rescue. To adopt sissy, we will require an application and a vet reference. Adoption fee $350.
