Fawn

American Bulldog

Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This is Fawn. Fawn has been a member of the Paw Paws family for nearly two years. Rescued from a tiny kill shelter up in Georgia as just a pup, it was clear that she was unfamiliar with what a loving home really is. The ranch has taught her that not all humans are bad, but she still has some ways to go before she truly trusts someone fully. For now, owners Michele and Kent hold the only honors. Fawn is very independent, but has shown some interest in toys. On the other hand, she absolutely loves other dogs. What Fawn really needs is a good human or two. These humans must have a metaphorical well of patience. She needs leash training and love training. How else will she ever know what it is to be treated like the angel she is? Dogs like Fawn almost never catch the eye of adopters. She’s shy and scared and doesn’t approach new people. Heck, she hardly even approaches the people she sees every day. She’s gorgeous and has soulful eyes, but she doesn’t often make eye contact long enough for anyone to appreciate them. Can you foster her and teach her what it’s like to be special and cared for? Fosters have the opportunity to choose adoption if a strong bond is made as well! Can you be the loving forever home she so desperately needs?

Story
Salis was dumped and left to fight an uphill battle against a laundry list of health problems six whole months ago. Faced with diagnoses of heart worm positive, erlichia positive, yeast and general skin infections, ear infections, and worms, this old man never let it keep him down. Now he's forced to face yet another battle...standing out among a sea of eager puppies. You see, Salis likes the quiet life. He doesn't have the puppy energy that people are so drawn to. He doesn't come running to meet every new person that walks in and he certainly doesn't go out of his way to fight for attention. Being a senior dog, some might see Salis as a tough sell, but we certainly don't think so. He's bright and loving and just wants some good scratches and a comfy bed to sleep on. It hardly seems fair that the odds have been stacked against him. Can you help us get this handsome fella's face out there by sharing this post? We just know there's a kind-hearted human that can give Salis all the love he deserves...they just have to connect first. Salis is a big boy, but he's low energy so outside of lease weight limits, he'd be a breeze in any sized home! He would do perfectly in a household with or without other dogs, though we don't know how he feels about our feline friends just yet. Now that he's doing so much better, it's time for him to get spoiled away from all these noisy pups around him. If you think you can provide that cozy environment through fostering or adopting, please fill out our application here: https://fs28.formsite.com/mstokesjesupganet/form1/index.html And please feel free to contact us directly in our inbox if you have any questions! ❤ Salis is on Simparca monthly for flea and tick prevention and on Ivermectin monthly for heartworm treatment/prevention. He is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on his vaccines. Paw Paws will continue to treat Salis's heartworms until he is heartworm negative.

Story
Carlos is one of our shyest dogs. He's been with us since 2019! This adorable boy has a hard time trusting humans (an all-too-common hurdle with our rescue dogs). He will need a loving and patient adopter with a quiet home for him to feel secure in. Just because he's an independent fellow doesn't mean he isn't deserving of a warm fluffy bed of his own. If you think you're up to the challenge of letting a good boy know how good he is, please fill out one of our adoption applications under the available pets tab of our webpage. Carlos is on Simparca monthly for flea and tick prevention and on Ivermectin monthly for heartworm prevention. He is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on his vaccines.

Story
Denali had puppies at the ranch TWO YEARS ago. TWO YEARS she's been waiting for someone to give her the love and attention she deserves. In those two years, Denali has fallen into a routine at Paw Paws. She's watched her babies grow, be adopted, even once returned, and then adopted again. It just isn't fair. Denali is a gentle soul. She's timid and quiet. It takes time for her to warm up to her environment and time to trust humans. She takes comfort in her friend Braveheart who just isn't comfortable around everyone either. Can you give her some of your time? Some of your love? A routine that includes peace and security? A special treat just for her every now and then? She's still young. She has so much time to learn to love and learn what it's like to have a home. She's worth so much more than the nine puppies that she gave life to. Can you foster Denali and teach her trust? Can you love her forever with adoption? Please contact us for more information if you are interested or fill out our adoption application here: https://fs28.formsite.com/mstokesjesupganet/form1/index.html It would mean so much to us and to Denali. Two years is just too long to be left waiting.
