Story
Meet sweet Princess Leia, or Leia, for short. We also call her taterbug because she loves baking in the sun like a little potato. She is a snuggly lap dog. So be ready for cuddles and kisses. She needs to be an only dog household. She does not show aggression at all towards people or animals, but she does want to be the dominant one is our household. We have another dog and they are not meshing well. There was a biting incident between the two. For this reason, we feel she would thrive much better as the only dog. She gets along great with our cat, Oliver. We rescued her 7 months ago from the humane society. She was a surrender, with no back story. She had been with the previous family for 5 years. Everyone at the humane society went on about how snuggly she was, and they were right! She is 7 years old. UTD on all shots, microchipped, spayed, and on monthly flea and tick meds. We will be happy to supply all her toys, blankets, clothes and a 6 month supply of flea and tick meds.

Story
Bear is a very sweet pit/mix. He is a little more than 1 year old. He has gotten along well enough with my two dogs (a Goldendoodle and Australian Cattle Dog). He enjoys walks, is great on a leash, is crate trained and he is a social dog. I am fostering currently because he was my adult son's dog and his work responsibilities have changed. He is unable to be home enough to care for Bear. I already have two dogs which is why I am unable to keep Bear. We have grown to love him and would like a home for him where he is able to get the attention he needs and deserves.

Story
Juju is a sweet, gentle girl who is fairly new to our rescue and needs some extra time to come out of her shell. She is very shy around new people and very nervous around new places but once she trusts you (treats help), she will be the most loyal and loving companion. After trying to avoid both of her new foster parents and creating distance at first, she is now climbing up on the couch and slowly becoming open to belly rubs and ear scratches. Juju would do best in a very calm and patient home where she can feel safe and continue on building up her confidence. She needs a kind hearted human who understands that love sometimes takes time but is also willing to help with guiding her to become brave. If you think you are that person, she will be your best friend for life. Her adoption fee is $300 To proceed, please visit our adoption requirements and send in an application via www.dbgsdrescue.org

Story
Meet Griswold! He is estimated to be around 10 months old and came to us from a shelter in Georgia. He was flown to Daytona Beach by Pilots N Paws and was a perfect passenger. He originally went to a foster to adopt home but it was quickly determined that it was not a good match as his prey drive for cats was too intense, so we moved him to a different home. His transition from one place to another was stressful, he was anxious and nervous and it took him a few weeks to finally settle in, so there is a chance that he will go through the same stage when he goes to his forever home. And this is why we need a family who is a 100% committed to him and will not bounce him around. Griswold will need work on crate training and consistent reinforcement to help him adjust comfortably. We have discovered that having another dog in a crate next to him is a comfort zone so another dog in the household is a must. Another thing we learned about him while in foster care is that he always wants to be close to you and will follow you around, no matter what you're doing so if you value your privacy in the bathroom, he is not the dog for you (lol). He is a wonderful walking partner, excellent on a leash, has been around other dogs and he's used to being around a toddler, but as always, due to the herding gene, we suggest that dog and toddler time are always supervised. We are looking for someone who has time and devotion to fit Griswold into their daily routine. He is located in Edgewater, FL and ready for meets and greets. His adoption fee is $300. Adoption requirements and application are located on our website at www.dbgsdrescue.org

Story
I have posted twice now but came to find I do not have access to the other email account. Willow is a purebred beautiful sweet Labrador. Unfortunately due to her size I can't relocate her with our family. She is 2 years old and will be 3 in November. She loves to swim in lakes or the ocean, she loves to play ball, she loves kids and people. She will bark to alert you if a stranger is approaching the house, but like most labradors she is a good natured girl. She is potty trained as well as crate trained and I will provide you with a crate and bowls for her which can be expensive to start. She likes peanut butter cookies as a treat and she is big on bones not stuffed toys. She will just rip them up so don't even bother. The sweetest big lazy girl is looking for a nice family preferably with a yard for her to play. If you already have dogs she will be fine after the warm up period. She is not trained to recall ducks but she is a pretty good swimmer. A family dog looking for her new home.
