Story
I don't know why Care Bear has been in foster so long! He is the greatest! Bear was turned into a kill shelter by a homeless man who could no longer care for him. He was turned in with another dog, but that dog was adopted. Bear was left there. Because Bear is black and has some graying n his face he was overlooked and slated for euthanasia. Bear is about 8.5 yrs old, despite the early graying. He is a lovebug and a 'talker' when you give him pets and rubs. He has all his shots, is neutered and microchipped. He is housebroken and currently lives in a pack of 7! other dogs. Bear is a strong, solidly built guy and tends to pull on the leash during walks, but listens in the house very well. Bear loves to play but is also extremely happy streaming Netflix on the sofa with you. He is gentle taking treats and really is a gentleman. Bear deserves a loving home where he can get the love and affection he deserves. He is just too sweet and loves everyone. He will bark if someone approaches the house, and his bark is BIG, so he is a very good watchdog! If you would like to meet Bear or have any questions, please feel free to ask. If you meet him, you will love him!

Story
What to say about Bree. Bree was pulled from animal services after being there since 11/22//22. Over a year she was held as evidence in a cruelty case along with 24 other dogs seized from that property. She has had a very rough life for only being 4 yrs old. Bree is timid at first around people but does not have a mean bone in her body! She is gentle and so very sweet. Bree is very active, enjoying not being confined in a shelter or breeding cage. At 4, I would guess she was bred every time she came into season. She is now spayed and does not have to worry abut that anymore. Right now she seeks affection from me when I am sitting down but sometimes gets scared when I approach her standing up. You can see by her ears that she has had very rough treatment by people, but still tries to trust. Bree is smart and curious. She is up to date on all shots and microchipped. She sometimes pulls on the leash but not terribly hard. Bree has also taken quite the shine to Bear, another foster dog here. You can see her holding his hand in the last picture! Bree would do well in a home with other dogs to pay with. She has a rough and rowdy play style. While she is safe around kids, older kids that can approach her quietly would be best. It cannot be seen in the pics, but from having do many litters, she does have quite a bit of mammary sagging. If you have any questions or would like to meet Bree please do not hesitate to contact us. If you are interested in possibly adopting her with Bear, that would be amazing. Both are deserving of the very best lives. I forgot to mention that Bree is a water baby and would love a pool to play and splash about in!!

Story
Eisley is 8 years old and extremely high energy. She has severe separation anxiety and is destructive if left alone. She needs an experienced dog owner, who can spend a lot of time with her. She knows basic commands and has never had an accident in the house. She gets along with other dogs, but wants to be the dominant dog in the home. In public and at the dog park she mostly ignores strange dogs. She's also extremely well behaved in public settings.

Story
She's a very sweet but skiddish dog. She needs a lot of love and care as she came from an abused home. Me and my wife can no longer give her what she needs because of work and children. But we want to make sure that she gets what she needs in another home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Resident since April 2018Hello, my name is Amora. I have been told how beautiful I am, and I cannot deny that it's the truth:)  I have been at PRBJ for over 5 years waiting for my forever home.  I know that is a really long time, more than half of my life. I am a great girl just ask anyone at the rescue center. I need time to get to know a person and trust them, but once I do, I will love you forever. I never forget those that love me.  I am a little older now and really would just like a home that I can relax with my human. I am good on the leash, but really don't like going too far...but maybe if I had a great person to walk me and keep me safe, I would enjoy walking.  I DO NOT like other animals (cats, dogs, birds, squirrels, etc), so my ideal home would need to pet free.... although I think I wouldn't mind a fish. I DO NOT like new people, so I would need a home that only has 1-2 ADULTS ONLY with very limited traffic in order to keep me and them safe. Please don't let any of this discourage you from wanting to adopt me. I know the right person is out there and the staff at the center is willing to work with us to ensure I get to the right home. It will take time for you to come in and meet me a few times, but I can guarantee I am worth it.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 1, 2024, 11:12 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Raven has been waiting for a home since 2019!!!!From Raven: My name is Raven, and I was on my own in the woods for so long trying hard to survive. A nice lady rescued me and took me to Judy who made me healthy. That was way back in 2019. Yes, it is true!  I have been waiting since 2019 for a home. Wow!  Can you imagine how happy I would be if I knew the joy of a real home and jumping on the couch to cuddle with my human or just having a backyard of my own in which to play?   Because of my unfortunate background, I am naturally shy with new people, but I warm up and truly would love my own special someone on whom I could bestow my love and devotion. Even though I am a little bit older, there is a bunch of play in me, and I especially like a hard plastic ball.  When you throw balls for me, I may or may not bring it back….depends on my mood. LOL!    Because I am shy and uncertain, it would be lovely to have someone who is home most of the day.l. Honestly, I am just the sweetest girl ever and I know we would love each other so much. It is so hard to see other dogs keep getting picked and here I sit, still waiting after all this time for my very own home that is adult only and I am the one and only pet. More About Raven: The word “rescue” is meant for dogs like Raven who desperately needed to be rescued from her dangerous situation and now very much needs a family to rescue/bring her into their home. This incredibly sweet girl has so much love to offer.  Just look into her eyes and you will see liquid love.  Raven will need a patient, caring family to slowly bring out the best in her and let her blossom into her best doggie self.    We have discovered that she is more personable with males rather than females. She needs a home with a securely fenced backyard, as walks (at least for now) are pretty scary for her.  Who knows what she may have endured living in the woods?   She enjoys playing in the yard with a ball, but then appreciates a nice cozy nap.   When it is time to do her business, she needs the backyard in which to potty because she will not go on leash.   This is not uncommon in the doggie world. Do you have a big heart for rescues?   Then please consider Raven.   She needs an adult only home that is calm and quiet with no other pets and with owners who are home pretty much all day every day to help build her self-confidence.     This super gentle, super beautiful girl has so much love and joy to offer; it is buried inside just waiting to be brought out by that special loving adopter/foster who will be well rewarded with a devoted furry companion.   Please open your heart to Raven and fill out an application to come meet her!   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 1, 2024, 11:12 pm
