Story
Meet Sophie. She will be 10 in October, so life is slowing down. She’s also deaf. She lost her hearing over a period of time. I was recently in the hospital for 3 days & that was difficult. I’m getting on in years and need to find a home where she can live out her years securely. She’s easy to adapt but requires some extra attention if she’s not paying attention to you. Adopter must have a fenced yard and the ability to walk her on a leash if needed. Safety is everything. I prefer someone with experience in caring for a deaf dog but someone willing to learn is good. She’s really sweet but not playful. She’s content to nap the day away. Obviously noise isn't a problem. Routine is a big thing for her & would do better with someone that’s home most of the time. She quickly learned a couple of hand gestures, especially for “come”. She learns quickly and is highly food motivated.

Story
Once upon a time, there was a little puppy named Zorro who didn't get the kind of beginning every puppy deserves.  Life started out a little hard for this sweet four month old lab mix, but somehow, through it all, Zorro never stopped believing that people were wonderful. In fact, if you ask Zorro, people are the very best thing in the world. Sure, he enjoys toys and can happily entertain himself with a squeaky friend  or a game of puppy make-believe.  He's clever, curious, and always ready for a little fun.  But if given a choice between a toy, a treat, or a meal and a warm lap?  Zorro will choose the lap every single time. This little boy has never met a stranger.  Every person he sees is simply a friend he hasn't had the chance to love yet.  Affection seems to ooze from every pore of his body.  He leans in for cuddles, melts into your arms, and looks at you with hopeful eyes that say, "Will you stay a little longer?" Zorro is discovering how beautiful life can be.  He has safety now.  He has toys.  He has full meals and soft places to sleep.  But there is still one piece missing from the fairy tale he dreams about. His person. The one who will be his family.  The one whose footsteps he'll follow from room to room.  The one whose lap will become his favorite place on earth.  The one who will love him with their whole heart -- and be loved right back with a devotion so pure and complete that only a dog like Zorro can give it. Zorro isn't looking for a perfect world.  He isn't asking for a castle or a grand adventure.  He's simply hoping for someone to choose him.  Someone to tell him that his hard days are behind him and that he finally, truly belongs. And if you are lucky enough to be that person, you'll discover what everyone who meets Zorro already knows:  this sweet boy has a heart big enough to fill an entire home with love! If you’d like to meet Zorro, please fill out an adoption application: https://luckydaypuppies.org/adopt/ ##2698540##

Story
Meet Stubbie (aka Stubbs) — a delightfully mismatched masterpiece. He’s got the head and body of a black Lab… perched proudly atop the short, sturdy legs of what can only be described as a basset hound–dachshund collaboration. The result? One perfectly unique pup who turns heads wherever he goes. Tipping the scales at 52 pounds, Stubbie is all Lab on top and all “surprise!” on the bottom. He gets along famously with dogs, cats, and pretty much anyone willing to admire his excellent proportions. He did have a home for a while, but through no fault of his own, he was surrendered when his people realized they didn’t have enough time for such a big personality. The silver lining? Stubbie comes fully equipped with house manners, leash skills, and is already housebroken — no assembly required. Come meet this one-of-a-kind, little(ish) black dog with a giant heart and an even bigger personality, and let Stubbie show you exactly why “perfectly unique” is his best feature. Puppies and Dogs are spayed or neutered, Heartworm negative, microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, and treated for parasites. They are available to inside only homes where they will be part of the family. Applications to adopt can be found at harthumane.org. Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, donations can be mailed to Hart County Humane Society P.O. BOX 1062 Hartwell GA. 30643 or online at harthumane.org. The Hart County Humane Society is an all-volunteer rescue, we receive no government funding and rely on donations to fund our lifesaving programs. ##2631951##

Story
Meet Star Some dogs chase treats. Some chase toys. Star chases hearts. At just 7 months old, this sweet Lab mix has already built quite the reputation. While most puppies are still figuring out which shoe to chew next, Star graduated from boot camp training at a five-star facility and impressed everyone she met with her eagerness to learn and her natural desire to please. Star's favorite game is fetch—but not for the reason you'd think. Sure, she loves the thrill of racing after the ball, ears flopping and tail wagging. But the best part comes afterward. The moment she scoops up her prize, she sprints back to her person, proudly carrying her treasure, only to launch herself into their lap as if to say, "Look what we did together!" Food is nice, but people are everything. Given the choice between a treat and affection, Star chooses affection every time. She lives for belly rubs, praise, snuggles, and being as close as physically possible to the humans she loves. Her superpower is making everyone she meets feel like the most important person in the world. Whether she's showing off her training, chasing a toy across the yard, or curling up for a nap in someone's lap, Star approaches life with a joyful heart and endless devotion. She's smart. She's sweet. She's a world-class cuddle bug.  And according to everyone who knows her, she's simply the best dog ever.
