Story
Poppy is energetic, intelligent, adventurous, sweet, cuddly, funny, sometimes feisty, confident, and so cute. He is 2-3 years old, weighing around 11 lbs, adopted from the shelter in Feb 2025. He frequents the dog park and doggy day care, so he’s good with other dogs but does best with other small dogs or tolerant dogs as he can be feisty. He was not potty trained when I got him but has learned to use his pee pads if he will go outside if let out often. Ideal home would be cat free, child free, either a couple or dedicated owner, dog sibling or limited time alone. He is young so very active and is still learning how to be the best boy. I want to find the ideal home, not just a home. Adoption fee is $250 but he comes updated on shots, fixed, and with toys and accessories.

Story
He is a very smart dog, very kind natured and is easy to manage. He is not neutered so has been urinating on my dad’s stuff in his garage and my dad is upset about it and wants to get rid of him. He is very energetic and can be dominant but not aggressive. He is very sweet and should be easily trained, had him since he was a puppy, he is 4 years old in march. I purchased him with certificates of his breed but lost them over the years when I had moved. Very active dog, you could say he is a dog that does well with having task. He is a purebred Australian hound dog and is really just a ball of joy. I’m hoping to find someone who would be very loving and caring toward him and be able to provide a great new home for him. I don’t want to let him go but given the circumstances I have to and I want to make sure my little guy gets the best home possible! He was raised with lots of love and care Says he needs to be neutered in 30 days of being adopted per website

Story
Gracie is a senior chihuahua (estimated around 12 years old) that was my now deceased mothers best friend! She is a snuggly lapdog that just wants pets and lounge with a buddy all day. We have an extremely busy household with two young boys, 3 cats and a golden retriever: she gets along well with everyone but has seemed stressed and unhappy over the past year. We have little time to sit / relax and thats what she wants! We would love to find her a home where she can live out her remaining days being pampered and the center of attention.

Story
August 2025 updateNellie is a puppy who has spent her entire little life in "the system" -- one hundred, thirteen days of it. The last month has been the BEST of her little life. She's had a foster mom and a safe home and bonded with new canine buddies, but her foster mom can't keep her after July. Nellie has learned so much in a home:🐾how to be brave in new places🐾how to traverse stairs🐾that people are often kind🐾how to use the doggie door when she needs to potty!!🐾how to be comfortable in a leash on a walkNellie is a ham! She is so funny and silly and will make you laugh, especially with her afternoon zoomies! Unfortunately Nellie is on her last few days before she has to go back to the shelter. She has thrived in foster care, finally feeling confident, and returning to the shelter will be really tough on this sweet girl.💔 She needs a foster takeover or adopter to save her from going back. She is timid with humans at first but WONDERFUL with other dogs. Surely your pup needs a playmate! Please consider fostering or adopting this sweet girl. Her brother, Cartier, is still in the shelter as well. They both have spent far too much of their lives there.Chanel is a young, playful pup with a heart as big as her wagging tail. Friendly with both people and other dogs, she’s a social butterfly who’s always ready to make a new friend. Chanel loves squeaky toys, fetch sessions, and especially splashing around in the water — the pool, a puddle, or a hose, she’s all in! Her joyful energy and sweet nature make her the perfect companion for fun-filled adventures and cozy cuddle time alike. Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200. Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip). For your convenience you can fill out an adoption application for any of our current residents at www.moaspets.com. Join us on Facebook athttps://www.facebook.com/moaspets. It's a great way to stay up to the minute on the furry 4 legged friends we have looking for a loving forever home. We are located at:1888 Colbert Danielsville Rd Danielsville, GA 30633 706-795-2868NOTE: Our adoptions are first come first served, simply filling out an application does not mean the animal will be held for you, you must come meet the animal in person in order to be considered for adoption. If you rent you must bring your lease or a letter from your landlord stating you may adopt.
