He was found abandoned and underweight at a local lake, and while his early days weren’t easy, Copper has shown incredible resilience. With time, patience, and training, he’s blossomed into a bright, playful dog who is ready to find his forever person.Copper is full of energy and curiosity—he loves to run, explore, and make every day an adventure. At our farm location, where he’s been working one-on-one with staff, he’s been learning important life skills like how to relax, how to channel his excitement, and how to be the best companion he can be. He’s come such a long way and is now more than ready to keep learning and growing with his new family.We think Copper will thrive in a home with adults (and maybe dog-savvy teens) who can match his zest for life. We have another graduate of our Education Project for Inmates & Canines. Let us introduce you to Sam, whose EPIC handlers did him a favor by writing a bio on his behalf."Hello, my name is Sam. I am an almost 5 year old mixed breed pup. I enjoy tug, chase, lick mats, and seek. I am comfortable around other dogs after being around them before meeting. I am nervous and timid around new people being introduced but am friendly after the first greeting. I love my handler/family. I know sit, down, stay, touch, chin, spin/turn, and other basic cues. I don't really like loud noises, a lot of people, being alone, and fetch (but I'm still trying!). I definitely DO like playing (tug, seek, and chase are my favorites). Plus, I like working for treats, walking, sniffing, cuddling, old people, kids, and grooming."Sam is a sweet and loving dog who has really opened up in our program, thanks to the hard work of his EPIC tea. He's now acting so much more relaxed and playful due to our confidence-building protocols and many hours of skilled behavior work by his beloved friends. Sadie's adoption is pending. She is getting a chance to see if she will work out with a prospective adopter. They took advantage of our Foster - to - Adopt program to give her a try in their own home. Sadie is a Yorkie mix and is very much an active puppy. Sadie is still young, the vet estimates she was born in August of 2025, so she is coming up on her first birthday! Sadie is fully grown and weighs in at just 11 pounds! Sadie would do well in an active home with a fenced yard for her to run and play. She also would love to go on walks with you and be your forever companion. Sadie is still in need of additional training and is willing to learn. She is still working on potty training, but with consistency and paying attention to her clues, you can accomplish this together. As you can see from the photos, Sadie does require grooming. Currently she has a summer cut. Are you ready for an active, energetic youngster? She is ready to meet you! All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered (if they are old enough) before they leave the shelter. If the dog is not old enough, you will be given a voucher for Animal Medical Center in Emmett to cover the cost of the spay or neuter.
