Story
Our senior (and much smaller) dog is going blind, and our big, goofy Duke has a hard time understanding that he can’t play so boisterously with our old guy anymore. We purchased Duke as a puppy and he is now almost 2 years old. He loves nature and taking long, slow walks on a leash. If he could, he would stop to smell every blade of grass! He is also a perfect car buddy and loves to just look at the world going by him out the window of the back seat! He knows the commands of come, sit and wait. He is super friendly and genuinely a very happy fellow. He also loves a good hug or cuddle and often will just rest his head on your lap. He doesn’t counter surf and is doing well not jumping up on people. We would love to see him go to a good home with space to play outdoors. I think he would do well as a solo buddy, but if there are other dogs in the home, they would probably need to be bigger, as he loves to play but doesn’t know his size!

Story
Nadia is a sweet 8 year-old Husky-Labrador mix. She is currently living with her owners. She is healthy and has been well cared for. She recently lost her kennel mate and is sad to be alone now. Her family loves her very much, but wants her to be in a home with another dog to play with. At 8 years old Nadia is past the crazy puppy stage of life, but still has years of love, adventure, and husky shenanigans ahead of her. Nadia is shy and a bit timid at first, but she gets along with all humans she meets and does well with dogs she knows and trust. She has the classic husky personality. Playful, sweet, loving, and occasionally has mischievous tendencies shredding her dog bed and toys. She is also an escape artist if she is bored, but always comes back home. She enjoys being outdoors. She has been living in a large climate controlled kennel and has access to a fenced outdoor area. She would love to be in a home with another dog to run and play with. She is spayed vaccinated chipped

Story
Looking for an active home! If you’re looking for a pint-sized powerhouse of brains, speed, and heart — Sprite might just be your dream adventure buddy! Approximately 10 months old and 25 pounds. Sprite is a smol but mighty mix of Border Collie and ACD (confirmed by Embark), and she embodies the best of both worlds: athletic, intelligent, and endlessly curious. At just 8 months old, she’s already fast, agile, and loves to climb, explore, and zoom through life with a big grin. She’s a toy chaser extraordinaire who hasn’t quite mastered fetch or tug yet, but she’s eager to learn — especially if snacks are involved! Sprite is highly food motivated, quick to pick up new skills, and thrives with regular exercise and mental challenges. She’s crate trained, potty trained, and travels like a pro, though she’s still polishing her indoor manners. Sprite has great recall on the trail, loves hiking, and yes — she swims (see video)! She adores people and other dogs, though her play style leans toward the rowdy side. She reads other dogs well, but she’ll need continued guidance for polite greetings and managing her barrier reactivity. Because of her high herding drive and enthusiasm, she’s best suited for homes without young kids or cats (chasing is her favorite sport). Sprite’s ideal home is one that embraces her drive and intelligence — agility, scent work, herding, dock diving… this girl could shine in it all! If you’re ready to channel all that sparkle into fun, adventure, and teamwork, Sprite will be your most loyal (and speedy!) partner. Sprite's adoption fee is $350 and includes spay, vaccines and microchip. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Sprite, please complete an adoption application located here: https://idawg.org/application.html

Story
Meet Scarlett 🐾 Australian Cattle Dog / Border Collie / Kelpie / Australian Shepherd mix | 3–4 years old | Spayed | 38 pounds Scarlett is the kind of dog who will steal your heart and probably your snacks. This sweet herding mix is looking for a patient, dog-savvy home where she can be someone’s loyal couch companion after a good adventure. At Home Indoors, Scarlett is affectionate, cuddly, and full of personality once she’s comfortable. She’s crate-trained, potty-trained, and does great in her crate when unsupervised — which is a must, since this girl has a nose for anything that might be edible. She loves snuggling up after a big day and would happily spend her evenings velcroed to your side. Out in the World Outside, she loves a good neighborhood walk or hike but Scarlett’s curiosity takes charge and she becomes an independent explorer. She has a strong nose and will follow it, so continued recall work is a non-negotiable before she can be off leash. With People Scarlett is shy at first meeting, but don’t let that fool you! Once she decides you’re her person, she is all in. Warm, animated, and wonderfully affectionate, she just needs a little time and patience to come out of her shell. She does best in a quieter home without children under 14. With Other Animals Scarlett is good with cats and can coexist peacefully with respectful dogs. She isn’t much of a rough-and-tumble player, but she’s happy to share a space. She does need structure around toys, as she can get bossy in that department. Dog parks and doggy daycare are not her scene, she much prefers a calm, controlled environment with dogs she knows. Training & Enrichment For a herding breed, Scarlett is refreshingly low-key in the drive department. She is medium energy, treat-motivated, and toy-curious. She’s already learned to play fetch and is even starting to swim for a ball! Both her food and toy drive could be built with time and positive reinforcement, making her a great candidate for someone who enjoys casual training as a bonding activity. Scarlett’s Perfect Day: Morning walk or hike → afternoon snooze → evening cuddles on the couch. 🌿🛋️ Scarlett would thrive with: ∙ Adults or teens 14+ only ∙ Experienced dog owners who understand herding breeds ∙ A moderately active owner committed to providing regular exercise and opportunities for her to safely explore ∙ Someone committed to continuing her recall training If you’re looking for a loyal, low-drama adventure buddy who gives the best cuddles at the end of the day, Scarlett just might be your girl. 🐾 ❤️ Scarlett's adoption fee is $350 and includes spay, vaccines and microchip. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Scarlett, please complete an adoption application located here: https://idawg.org/application.html

Story
HI - I'M MISTO! I am a young (about a year and a half old) husky-shepherd mix (maybe with some Australian Cattle Dog thrown in) rescued from a crowded California shelter. I was terrified there -- I mean really scared. I wouldn't even come up to greet people. But after a few days out of there, my sunshine personality came out! I'm a loving, dog-friendly boy who would do well with another dog in the home, or as an only dog, too. I love to play and am happy! Change is a bit scary for me so I would do well with both a patient and active person, who could take me for walks, hikes and other outings. I have the most beautiful blue eyes, and I weigh about 50 lbs. Please email for an application! I currently need a foster or forever home.
