Story
After much consideration, we’ve decided to rehome Lola. She’s a wonderful dog, but her reactivity has increased, especially since the birth of our children. There have been a few incidents where she left marks on our 2-year-old, so she needs a home without children. Additionally, her behavior towards our other dog has worsened recently, so a home without other pets is ideal. Lola is a very chill dog when solo. While she enjoys going on walks, she is also a fan of just chilling on the couch or playing with a toy. She is also a big fan of being groomed and would lay down for hours while you brushed her and always receives high praise while she is at the groomer. Unfortunately, she suffers from a lot of anxiety, which can create negative situations that could be avoided with the ideal household. If you’re interested in adopting Lola, please contact us privately. A rehoming fee of $75 applies. Thank you for helping us find the best home for her!

Story
Hi, I'm looking to surrender my 5 year old male husky mix. I adopted Kratos from my neighbors family member. I thought I was adopting a healthy dog utd on shots. I was also told that I'd have help watching him/ letting him out. Turns out I don't. It's really a mess. Within 3 days of having Kratos I notice he has something going on with his ears. Turns out it was a staph infection. He's been treated for that. With that standing bill I cannot afford to take him back to the vet. He's losing tuffs of hair paws are red. I feel awful for having to give him up. I know for sure I'm his 3rd owner. Kratos is really a great dog. He's very smart. Loves kids, walks, car rides. Doesn't care to much for cat's. Pretty much ignores them to a point. Has nipped. But never bitten my cats. Kratos does guard his food bowl towards other animals, as he was attacked by another dog.Kratos is not aggressive towards people at all. Wants to be everyone's friend. Just needs someone to give him a chance.

Story
Luca was surrendered to his groomer by his previous owners husband after she unexpectedly passed away, he had health issues of his own and was unable to care for Luca. His groomer made a post on Facebook that he was free to a good home, we already had another Maltese/Bichon the same age so thought we could give him a good home. The groomer knew little about him in his everyday life, she thought he was good with children, however he does not do well with small children, he does great with about 10 yrs and up. I have multiple small grandchildren and do not trust him around them. Luca is leery of some males as well. Luca becomes attached very quickly with females and loves to be loved. He likes to be very close at all times, he will snuggle and will follow you around the house, he does like to sleep with you at night but is also kennel trained. He does get kenneled when we leave as this is what he was used to before we got him. Luca loves to go for car rides, he is 11 years old.

Story
I was pretty scared when I first came to Safe Haven. I would hide under my bed and wouldn't come out for any reason, except that is for peanut butter treats. I love them! I am pretty shy at first with people, I tend to get along better with the dogs here than people. I really need another dog around to give me the confidence and direction I need to feel good. I like to run around outside, especially if there is another dog around. If I don't have that reinforcement I won't stay outside and demand to go back to my kennel. If you have dog at home that loves to run, I would love to run around with them. And reward the lucky human who let me out to run will be a quick jump up on them before running off for another lap around the yard! When I come in from outside I become the biggest couch potato and want to get up on the nearest human for some lap time and maybe some brushing, I'm really good when I get brushed. If you think you can bring me out of my shell you should submit an application. I transferred to Safe Haven from another shelter and I can't wait to meet you! I'm an older boy, but that hasn't stopped me at all. I really like meeting new people and dogs, I can get a little over excited and jump up on people. I like kids but I may hurt them because I don't realize how big I am at 79 pounds, so I may be best in a home with older kids. I am also VERY food motivated, I will find and open any bag of food I can get my paws on...I can't help it, I love food so much! Hey, would you like to meet me? I'd love to meet you! You should submit an application if I sound like the boy for you. If you are interested in adopting this adorable 9 year old canine, please FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION on our website www.safehavenforpets.org. Story
I am a playful guy who can be distrustful of new people. In fact I really bark at new people and may scare them...I need time to accept them, but treats helped me learn to trust the people here at the shelter. And once I trust you get ready for PLAYTIME! I love running and playing in the yard, and will run up and hug you and shower you with kisses! I'm not sure about the other dogs here at the shelter, I tend to bark at them. I haven't really had may chances to meet a dog in my life, so if I do go to a home with another dog it may take some time to adjust. I do like kids, sometimes I can get carried away and knock them over when I get really excited. If you think you have it in your heart to welcome me into your home, you should apply for me today!
