Meet Jimmy! A 6 yr old Pittie/Ridgeback mix. A goofy personality with thinking he’s a lap dog. He LOVES chewing on his beef bones & cuddling his blankies. Knows basic commands plus a few cool tricks too. Jimmy is not crate trained but has done well as a free roamer for 5 years. He’s never been destructive to anything but his toys. Jimmy would do well in a home where there are few visitors as he is reluctant to strangers. He loves his circle of trusted people & thats where his personality shines.rehoming due to not getting alone with other dogs & him not adjusting well to my new small apartment. He misses his big fenced in yard.

Gumbo was adopted last year from a shelter and has developed into a very friendly, playful and energetic companion. Unfortunately his owner has to move out of state and cannot take him. His age is unknown but is approximately 5 years old. He weighs 85lbs and is very strong. He seems to love other dogs and has shown no aggression. He seems to have a small animal prey drive but responds well to redirection. Because of his size and strength he should have a confident handler.

We live coco. We rescued him from local pet adoption center. He is lovely , getting stronger though. He gets along with our small breed dog. We believe he will be beneficial from family who can train him send spend time with him. I have to start job soon and move , I don’t want coco to adjust at this age .He stayed with us for 6 months .up to date shots. No other problems. Very energetic

Cass just turned 8yo, and has the energy of a puppy! He needs someone who has the time to give him long walks and trips to the dog park (He does well off leash in a fenced in area) Bi-weekly grooming is a must. He has an ABUNDANCE of fur. He gets along with other dogs, cats, strangers and children. Unfortunately, he has always been scared of the vet/groomer so he does get nervous/defensive in those situations. He has never bitten anyone though. Thankfully, an experienced veterinarian can handle him okay (He has regular visits and is up to date on shots) Grooming will need to be done by someone in the household. He has separation anxiety. He won't follow you everywhere you go BUT HE WILL tear things up/potty immediately if locked in a room/left alone. He does NOT do this behavior when people are present. He understands "Potty Time" and doesn't chew items when in company. Everything he needs (food, leash, tie out, toys, treats, grooming tools) will be included.

Hi! It’s me! Athena! I’m still here hanging out at FDHS waiting for my perfect match. I’m a big girl with an even bigger heart! I’m still just a baby so I need a family willing to work with me through the puppy pains. I recently celebrated my first birthday on June 16th! I was surrendered by my previous family who loved me very much. The older dog in the home just didn’t love my large puppy energy and everyone decided it was best for me to find a new family. Since I’ve been at the shelter I haven’t been really interested in making doggie friends, but I think it’s just because I’m scared and need to meet them in a more calm setting. I don’t think I’d mind cats though!Where I came from I was around a toddler and I’ve met a couple kids in my stay here. I can be scared of all people at first- big and small. But if you respect my boundaries, go very slow, (and bring lots of treats!) we will be buddies in no time. I really love the staff here at the shelter and they tell me all the time how I’m the sweetest marshmallow girl. We love to play together out back and especially love playing with the water hose. I’m a young girl with a lot of love to give someone. I hope I meet them soon! **Spayed, microchipped, and UTD on vaccines & monthly prevention**
