ISO: BFFF! We fostered her when “Dad” passed away. She has been a good dog, aside from being bored. We are a family with only so much time, and she isn’t getting the love and attention she is used to. Anxiety from leaving her home has her quite shy, but she has a ton of love to give to someone who can make her their whole world.

Story
This sweet soul is our pretty girl, Pearl. Pearl recently came to us as a stray in rough shape. Her coat was stained, her skin was irritated, and her nails had grown so long that they were affecting the way she stood and walked. It was clear that this gentle girl had been living with a lot of discomfort for quite some time. Sadly, no one came forward to claim her.Thankfully, Pearl’s difficult days are behind her, and we’re determined to make sure her future is filled with comfort, love, and care.Pearl appears to be an older girl with a calm, easygoing personality. She has been super sweet with her caregivers and enjoys spending her days exploring our fenced yard. She’s kept a clean kennel, walks beautifully on leash, and seems content soaking up the sunshine and attention. So far, Pearl has been pretty indifferent to the other dogs at the shelter and would likely do well with another relaxed canine companion. She has not yet been introduced to cats. As always, slow and proper introductions are a must with any new furry family members.Pearl is ready for soft beds, gentle belly rubs, and a home where she’ll never have to worry again. She is available for immediate adoption.

Story
Say hello to Wednesday!Wednesday has returned to FDHS after spending several wonderful months in a foster home, where she got a taste of the good life outside the shelter. Thanks to her foster dad, we were able to learn so much more about the kind of companion she is in a home environment.According to her foster, Wednesday is an excellent house guest and earns a perfect score when it comes to potty training. She did not have a single accident and does great in a fenced yard. She especially enjoys spending time outside and taking full advantage of the warmer weather to sunbathe. At mealtimes, Wednesday has shown that she prefers to graze rather than eat all at once. She enjoys having a little wet food mixed in with her dry food and will happily pick at her meals throughout the day at her own pace.Wednesday also appreciates having a cozy space to call her own. Her crate, complete with a big comfortable dog bed, quickly became one of her favorite spots to relax. It serves as her safe space where she can unwind. If she isn’t in her crate at night, you can often find her curled up on the couch. She is non destructive and does well being left out overnight. One of Wednesday’s favorite parts of the day is her daily walks. She gets very excited when it’s time to head out and may try to rush out the door in her enthusiasm, so a secure hold on her leash is important. Once the initial excitement settles, she relaxes and enjoys the walk.Wednesday is a dog who prefers a quieter lifestyle. She would thrive as the only pet in a calm home without young children. She is a sweet, low key companion who isn’t afraid to communicate her boundaries and would do best with a family that respects her need for a peaceful environment. Now back at the shelter, Wednesday is still patiently waiting for the family she’s been dreaming of. She has already proven herself to be a wonderful companion and is ready to settle into a home where she can feel safe, comfortable, and loved.**Spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 50 lbs**

Story
Meet Buffy! This little pointy eared gremlin girl is a very new (and VERY smiley!) face at FDHS. Buffy was recently transferred from a larger scale rescue and has officially been given her second shot at life. Judging by that giant grin, she seems pretty thrilled about it!Buffy is still settling in, but she has already been such a sweet girl for our staff. Shelter life can be a lot for an anxious girl like Buffy, especially since we were told she prefers a quieter, solo pet lifestyle. She would love nothing more than a peaceful home where she can finally relax and be herself! This smart cookie already knows several commands, is crate trained, has a great grip on house training, and is ALWAYS down for some extra attention. We were told she can be a little rambunctious for really little kiddos, but with her brains, good attitude, and silly personality, Buffy could be a wonderful fit for so many homes!**Spayed, microchipped, heart worm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Story
Hi!! I’m Stefan! I’m a six month old puppy who recently made the trip to FDHS from a big shelter in Indiana. The humans said I deserved a second chance, and I think they might be right because I’m pretty sure my forever family is out there somewhere!I’ve only been here for a little while, but I already have this place all figured out. Make lots of friends, collect as many cuddles as possible, and never say no to playtime or treats. It’s a pretty great system if you ask me.The humans keep telling me I’m a really smart boy because I already know a few commands. Personally, I think learning is pretty fun, especially when there are snacks and compliments involved. I also have these really big brown puppy eyes that seem to work like magic. Every time I use them, somebody throws my toy again or gives me another little cuddle. Coincidence? I don’t think so.I’ve been trying really hard to convince all the other dogs to play with me, and I think the cats are pretty interesting too. I just love making new friends!I’m still just a little puppy, so I’ve got lots to learn, but I promise I’ll do my very best. All I need is a family that’s ready for adventures, belly rubs, zoomies, and helping me grow into the best boy I can be.**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 35 lbs**

Story
Allow me to introduce myself… I’m Bobby. Professional goofball, certified beefcake, and full time good boy.I ended up at FDHS after I was found as a stray with a pretty nasty case of flea dermatitis. My skin was itchy, raw, and definitely not looking so hot. Thankfully, everyone here has been helping me feel so much better! Nobody ever came looking for me, but that’s okay. I’m choosing to believe my "real" family just hasn’t found me yet.The humans keep telling me I’m the happiest guy around, and I can’t argue with that. I love people, I love attention, and I love making everyone laugh with my silliness. I’ve been pretty chill with most of the other dogs here, although some of the other boys and I don’t always see eye to eye. Slow introductions are the way to go if you already have a pup at home.A couple things you should know about me: I’m built like a linebacker, my tail has the power to clear a coffee table in one swipe, and I’m still figuring out this whole “walking politely on a leash” thing. The good news? I keep my kennel nice and tidy, so everyone here thinks I’m probably housebroken. If I sound like your kind of guy, please fill out an adoption application to come meet me!**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 65 lbs**
