Story
Meet Blake! Blake is looking for a home with a fenced yard to run endlessly in. Without a fence, he thinks it’s a fun game of chase to run for an hour (I’ll let you guess how we know 😬) Blake is fully grown, but has puppy energy! Lots of running and playing before we can take a nap on the couch where he can show you that he is the BEST cuddler. Blake does well with his cage, goes in without an issue. He does not do well at staying in his cage if he has not had enough exercise. Blake is also extremely smart; he has learned sir, shake, touch, under, spin, and heel so far. Blake is food motivated. He thinks he is starving, which has become better as we use the enzyme pills to help him properly digest his food. We are still tackling the diarrhea. Blake is well mannered when he isn’t distracted. Blake also suffers from the worst thing ever; selective hearing. Blake does well with all dogs, is cat curious (he finds them interesting and pushes them past their comfort on accident, he needs more guidance in being taught appropriate interactions). Blake can do well with kids BUT has a jumping issue; so no delicate kids 😆 He’s very resilient to any challenge he faces. He has a well mannered personality, but just needs guidance for overall manners. We initially were told Blake has EPI; but our vet has determined against that; therefore we are still working on a diagnosis.

Story
Speckle! Speckle is a 1 year old Australian cattle dog. Speckle was first purchased from a farm, then later abandoned by his owner. Speckle is very shy of new things, and loves to find comfort in his people. Since opening up a bit more, we’ve found that Speckle is good on a leash, good with other dogs, loves to listen and go on walks, potty trained, kennel trained. Speckle loves to be with his people and gives no care about others. Speckle is a HIGH ENERGY dog. He will play all day. He does well with other dogs; until he tires them out and is ready to keep going himself. Speckle should be able to adjust well with any home willing to put the work in. Speckle is neutered, has DHLPP bordetella and rabies vaccines, heartworm negative, and will receive a microchip.

Story
Salen and her babies were found in the woods in Texas - half of her litter had been eaten by coyotes. The babies are going to need to renin with mom until 4/20; so they will need to be in foster *ALL TOGETHER* until then. Afterwards, they’ll be available for foster to adopt; you foster them until they have been spay or neutered (as early as 12 weeks, more than likely will be late May or early June) and then adopt ☺️

Story
Adopt Kylo! Who’s looking for a low energy, fluffy, sassy cattle dog?! Young adult male cattle dog mix. This sweet, sweet boy still needs a home. He is so down to earth and go with the flow. Does great with other dogs, is low energy, and loves those booty scratchins! He seems to want to chase livestock, but I’m betting that if someone put the time in with him, he’d understand that he shouldn’t do that. He really just wants to please. He loves being around our other dogs and has no issue with any of them. He’s a silly, playful guy that likes maybe a 15 minute walk and then he’s good. He is fixed and up to date on shots! He came to Ashtabula county animal protective league as part of a hoarding case - to which we pulled him from there! Being fostered in Lebanon OH. https://gforms.app/HhpNgNP

Come meet Bourbon! Bourbon is a HIGH ENERGY cattle dog looking for his people! He is roughly 2 years old, and 40 pounds or so. He needs a large yard or someone willing to exercise him daily - mentally AND physically. He does well with other high energy dogs - but appears frustrated when there’s nearby dogs he wants to play with. He has no issue with cats. He does not do well with dogs that cannot keep up with him. Bourbon does well inside - he doesn’t have accidents, he doesn’t get into things. He is crate trained. He loves his Kongs with peanut butter. He loves being where his people are as well - we are working on separation issues. Bourbon will lay and cuddle - only after a long play session. His previous home describes him as the best cuddler! A very typical hyper Australian Cattle Dog Bourbon is up to date on his shots and fixed - ready to go to his new home!
