Wednesday is a gorgeous medium-sized mixed breed who came to us as a stray a couple of months ago with no information about her past. What we have learned is that she is a sweet, quirky girl who will need just the right home.Wednesday thrives in a calm environment and appreciates having time and space to relax and decompress. She is very loving with her caretakers but is also confident enough to set her boundaries when she needs to. One of Wednesday’s most iconic traits is her singing voice. She is known for her dramatic solos that get the entire shelter howling along. We promise no animals are being harmed. Wednesday is just being Wednesday, a tone deaf angel with a lot of personality. But we absolutely ADORE her!She seems comfortable around calm, low key dogs, but she has not been tested with cats. Because she can have the occasional sour mood, we do not recommend a home with small kids. And with her lack of coordination, a home with lots of stairs likely would not be ideal.Wednesday’s loving, goofy presence has made us all completely fall in love. She may be a special girl, but for the right person, she will be so amazing. **Spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 40 lbs**

I came to the shelter because my previous owner couldn’t care for me, and now I’m looking for a family who can match my energy and give me a good life!I love being outside running, exploring, and playing. I seem to get along with other dogs and I’m friendly with people, especially if there are treats or praise involved. I’m still learning my leash skills but I’m picking it up fast.I’m looking for someone active but is also down to cuddle on the couch on weekends. Meet Mr. Mellow!Mellow’s name might make you think he is calm and...well...mellow. But truthfully? He's a brindle whirlwind of wiggles, smooches, and slobber. He has been at FDHS for several months now, and honestly, we can't figure out why this sweet boy hasn't yet found a forever family. He's stolen the hearts of every staff member and volunteer he meets, and he just wants someone to love and be loved by.Mellow is can go from a track star one moment and a lazy nap champion the next. This boy literally lives for the sunshine and summer! He absolutely adored his puppy pool and was often found splashing, wading, or just lounging like he might secretly be part mermaid. With winter coming and Mellow STILL being here, he's starting to get pretty bummed out. He truly thrives on attention, affection, and adventures of all kinds.He does best with slower introductions to other dogs. Some of the more energetic pups at the shelter can overwhelm him, but he is curious about calmer dogs and would likely enjoy having a dog friend to build confidence with. He hasn't been tested with cats here at the shelter, but we were told by his previous family that he did well with them. Mellow would also do best in a home with older kids or adults and a fenced yard or daily play sessions to help him burn off all his puppy energy.Mellow has so much love to give, and he is ready to share it with a person of his own. **Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. She brought them into the world and raised them with every bit of love she had. Now that all of her babies have been adopted and started new lives of their own, it is finally Pam’s turn to be the one cared for.Since settling into foster care, Pam has blossomed in the sweetest ways. She’s made so many new friends and continues to learn all about house-dog life. She loves toys, cozy beds, snow days in her sweater, and is very snack-motivated, which makes playtime and training even more fun. While she has grown in confidence, she still relies on the comfort of another confident canine to guide her and help her feel safe.Pam would thrive in a home with rescue dog experience, a patient and loving family, and ideally another confident dog to be her buddy. Meet Monica, the resident diva of FDHS!Monica has been with us for a few weeks now, and she has shown herself to be a dignified, well-mannered girl who is so great with the humans. We recently took Monica to an off-site event, and she was the star of the show. She handled the busy environment beautifully, allowing people to come up and pet her with patience, all while soaking up the attention like the sweet girl she is.Monica walks great on leash and is so well-mannered. She is happy to settle at your feet when you’re relaxing, rides great in the car, and keeps a super clean kennel. She is used to regular grooming, which is necessary to maintain those gorgeous curls. She can be selective with her canine companions and tends to do best with more submissive dogs. We were told by her previous owner that Monica is not a good fit for a home with cats or small children. While she has excellent manners indoors, Monica does have a bold, adventurous side and is an experienced escape artist. She can climb fences, dig under them, and power through electric fencing, so she will need very close supervision when outdoors to keep her safe.Elegant, affectionate, and full of Poodle perfection, Monica is a standout dog who is ready for a forever home of her very own.**Spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention.
