Story
Kody Breed: Pointer/ Cattle Dog mix Gender: Male Weights: 46 lbs Age: 2 yrs Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: yes Good with kids: Yes older kids Housetrained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Leash Trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Health Concerns: None HW status: Negative Spay/neutered?: Yes Tell us about this dog: Kody was saved from euthanization at a high kill shelter in San Antonio, Tx. It is believed that at some point Kody was physically abused and would get defensive when he felt threatened. Kody has come a long ways and his trust in people has grew more and more everyday. He is an active fun boy who loves kids, getting belly rubs, and playing with toys. Kody is very treat motivated and is eager to learn new things. He enjoys car rides. Kody loves going for walks, hiking, and/or jogging. Kody had been through behavioral training prior to coming into our rescue. These are notes from the trainer. Kody knows multiple commands. Below are the commands he knows and notes from his trainer: - look at me/pay attention Sit Come here- recall Touch- nose to hand target command Wait- pause in action- ESPECIALLY at doors!! Settle- relax Leave it- back away and leave that alone (barking/fixation/food/ leash excitement) Place- go to k-bed (point) Let’s go- change in direction/follow me Kennel- go into kennel or crate “Uh-uh”(buzzer type sound) or firm NO SIR for verbal correction. “Ok” for release WITH FOOD- - ANY resource guarding must be corrected verbally and redirected with obedience. As soon as he trusts you he is fine, but with new people He will test. ANY physical threat or punishment will overwhelm and escalate him- his behavior demonstrated that someone tried to punish the growling out of him and he gets defensive- you must redirect him into the bed and release him to eat when friendly and calm. He is calmer and eats better in a home environment- crate, hand feeding or bowl by your feet in a house he does well with. In a kennel he tends to be more defensive, so work outside the kennel barrier, then move inside and get him comfortable with you being in there with him while he eats before touching him while he eats. Story
Troy Male / 52 lbs / American Bulldog x Shar pei x Dogo mix (best guess) Neutered Vaccinated Chipped HW negative This beauty is only a year old & has so much life left in him!!! He’s definitely a loving playful dog and would benefit from lots of activities outdoors. He needs an active person or family to keep him busy. He has not been tested around cats or young children. So in his new home he will need teenagers or older as he loves to jump up and can be super goofy so would definitely knock over young kids. He currently has some hot spots and thus, has some sensitive skin. No known food allergies. He would love a Kong stuffed with treats or peanut butter that he has to work on :) a slow feeder bowl would also stimulate this boy! He’s good with other dogs and he is strong so a halti or gentle leader would definitely aid in his leash skills. He is house trained. Troy is looking for a foster home or a foster to adopt home. To foster: You can find my form "Foster Application Form for Cats, Dogs & Rabbits" at: https://form.jotform.com/211614455997263 To foster to adopt: You can find my form " Rescue Dog Adoption Application" at: https://form.jotform.com/211694512438255 Adoption fee is $750

Story
Get ready to fall in love with Buffalo, a 2 year old fetch champion who brings endless joy to every room he enters! Buffalo is crate and house trained, loves riding in the car, and is a certified professional cuddler. He is extremely affectionate and has never met another person or dog that he does not love. He is very smart and learns new tricks very easily. Buffalo is 50 lbs and would thrive in a home with a yard, or with a family that has another dog to play with. He would make a great fetching, walking, running, or hiking companion. Buffalo received his namesake after he was found swimming in Buffalo Bayou on a hot day. He was abandoned at the bayou’s dog park in Houston, TX - a prime dumping ground for dogs. Despite these challenges, he is optimistic and can't wait to move on to his next adventure. Will you be his new best friend? We can drive this pup to your area! Story
Ebony is a petite little lady with the best personality! She's snuggly and friendly, and also a bit of a diva lol. Are you looking for a "house hippo" to snuggle and give belly rubs? This is your girl right here! She likes other dogs, she's a good girl in the house, and she knows to potty outside. This girl loves attention from human that she knows, and she would love to be your new buddy, especially if you're a woman. She's okay with kids but she jumps up so we don't recommend young kids that can get knocked over. Men can be a bit scary to Ebony until she gets to know them. No kitty cats for Miss Ebony. Ebony rides well in the car. She loves belly rubs, gives great kisses, and if you throw the ball for her it will make her whole day. She is about 45 lbs but she's compact. SOLID girl right here LOL. Ask us about her and we'll get you in touch with her foster! If you like this cutie and you're in driving distance to the Northeast like Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Hartford, Secaucus, or the Pacific Northwest, Portland, Seattle, send us inquiry and we'll give you a call and video chat! Here's the link: www.friendsfurliferescue.org/adoption-application Our transport can take this pup to any of the above locations. (YES we also adopt to Canada, if you're willing to drive to one of the above cities to pick up.) Thank you! We're looking forward to your inquiry! Considering Ebonie for adoption?
