Story
She is a sweet, loyal companion who is wonderful with people, but she is struggling with resource guarding that has led to conflicts with our other dog. Because she has never shown aggression toward humans but has attacked our other dog, we believe she would thrive as an only pet. We want to ensure she finds a home where she can be the center of attention without the stress of competing for resources. We rescued her in July of 2020 when she was around 6 weeks old. She guards items (food/bones/something in the yard) from other animals. She will attack and bite our other dog, it’s happening more frequently, and causing injury and stress for our other dog. We’ve been struggling this for the last 3+ years. Recently, she will growl if one of our children or other animals walk near her crate while while she’s eating. Our concern is our toddler or a human would be in the wrong place at the wrong time and get bit as well. She needs a home with no other dogs or cats and probably no children.

Story
Thor is a 2yr old, 59lb lab mix. He was adopted from BAS last April and has adapted to living in an apartment beautifully. He is very smart and has been a breeze to train because he lives for treatos and food! He knows sit, wait, shake (and will do each paw separately), “sit pretty”, high five, lay down and stay. Costs have become unmanageable due to lack of support and having to pay for frequent boarding for travel. Thor is UTD on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. I am heartbroken to have to rehome him, he is a wonderful dog and my best friend.

Story
Smoky is a good boy. We got him from the Christiansburg shelter in October of 2025. We are needing to move overseas and aren't able to bring him with us. If we weren't leaving we would keep him. The shelter found him on the street originally, but he had a microchip when they found him and was already neutered and house trained. They tried to contact the information linked to the microchip for months but had no success. We fell in love with him when we saw him and took him in. He is a happy dog and loves meeting new people. He is potty trained and when he needs to go he will let you know by yawning over and over and stretching. We did pay for 3 weeks train and board after we got him. He has a great soul but he does get nervous when people try to kiss him on the head or hug him but just respect his space he will be your best friend and give you lots of smiles. He likes slow calm pets. He loves to fetch.

Story
Richie is a sweet dog that loves people, especially kids. He is smart, can be easily trained, and is a great guard dog. He has a great personality, including friendliness, calmness, and loyalty. Richie is in excellent health and up to date with all vaccines and recommendations. Medical records are available. The reason for rehoming this loveable ball of fur is that the owner was recently diagnosed with severe allergies to dogs. Richie would be a great companion to anyone. Dog beds, food bowls, food, collar, harness, etc. included.

Meet Hazel 🐾💕 Hazel is a 4-month-old puppy weighing about 20 lbs, and she’s full of love and personality! She’s incredibly sweet, playful, and always ready for fun. Hazel loves to cuddle just as much as she loves to play, making her the perfect mix of energy and affection. She gets along great with kids and other dogs, so she’d fit right into a loving family home. Hazel is looking for a forever home where she can continue to grow, play, and be showered with love. If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly, and fun companion, Hazel might be the perfect match for you! 🐶💖

Story
This is Florence. Florence is a 3.5 year old AKC registered English Springer Spaniel. I am looking for a home for Florence because she does not get along with her sister or do well with other dogs.Florence is house trained, e-collar trained, leash-trained, spayed, and knows several verbal commands. I walk her off-leash three times per day, and she loves to run. She also loves to sit on my lap and cuddle with me…forever. Florence loves toys and kids and pretty much everybody. She has a very type A personality and is very spirited. Florence needs to be in an only dog home. She also does agility.I am seeking a home for Florence where she will get lots of attention and exercise. A place with a lot of land would be ideal. She does not like to be left at home for long periods of time.
