Story
Jerry has been raised around kids and a small dog since we rescued him when he was four months old. He is now three and he’s still such a gentle giant. We have had an unexpected change in finances and are looking to rehome him to someone who is experienced with Great Pyrenees. He is house trained and is currently an inside dog. He would be good to transition to an outside dog and is very good at guarding his home. He has never shown aggression. He has horrible car anxiety due to me working from home and being a homebody. We will get his shots up-to-date as well as fixing him if you were interested in giving him a loving home. The only thing that we ask is, if you end up changing your mind after getting him to please reach out to us and we will find the proper home for him. Our kids are very attached to him so a few pictures every now and then would be much appreciated as well!

Story
I Acquired Athena from a former client I had while i was caregiving out in Colorado. They could not take Athena to the new nursing home so they asked if i would take care of finding a better home for her. Sadly I could not find a home quick enouch where i lived in CO and had to come home to VA hor a while bringing her with me. Now im planning on moving again and i really need a new home for this sweet baby and ijust want her to be happy where she goes, she is so sweet and silly. Anyone is going to love her, but she does shed! However with regular vacuuming, proper grooming and de shedding at PetSmart, it actually wasnt even that much hair to deal with! I will say she is good with most cats but curious,. shes never been agressive or dangerous towards them and befriends most felines

Story
Our newest little powerhouse 💥🐾 Don’t let his size fool you — Heinz is way more powerful than he looks and full of energy. He doesn’t do “walks” in the traditional sense… he leads the way on his invisible pogo-stick ⚡ More than just energy, Heinz has a big heart. During playtime, he stands up for the little guys and makes sure everyone plays fair 🐶❤️ At just 8 months old, Heinz is ready for a forever home — could that be yours?

Story
One of 4 puppies from the same surrendered litter. She is inseparable from her sister, they do everything together. She is the runt of the litter for sure and super submissive, but that doesn't stop her from trying to be friends with everyone!

Story
Hello, my name is Fiddle! I came to Angels of Assisi thanks to a rescue from a hoarding situation in West Virginia, where I lived in neglect with over forty other dogs. It has been a long road for me to truly trust people again, but the staff and volunteers at Angels have been working diligently with me, and I have made excellent progress. I am still shy when meeting new people, but I have lots of love to give if you are willing to give me a chance! I am a happy, energetic girl once I feel comfortable and safe. Because of my background, I require multiple meet-and-greets with potential adopters to make sure that the home is the best fit for me. This also gives you more chances to get to know me and for me to warm up to you! I would do best in a calm home without small children or cats. With some time and patience, I can show you all that I have to offer. Come meet me at Angels of Assisi! **My adoption is sponsored, so qualified adopters will not pay an adoption fee.**

Story
Hi, my name is Junior! I am a bit of a nervous boy, so I will need a patient owner who can go slow with me as I reveal my sweet, smart, and cuddly side. I was originally brought to the shelter after my owner passed away. Then, I was briefly adopted and snuck out of my house and lived on the run for 3 months during the dead of winter. I'm a strong, resilient boy but I've had a bit of trauma in my life, which is why I need some time to really trust. I get along with some other dogs and cats, and I am housetrained, crate trained, and like car rides! I truly deserve some consistency, love, and a home. I may need a few meet and greets to warm up, so go ahead and stop by to meet me today!
