Story
Name: Butch Age:  8 years Breed:  chi mix Gender:  Male Weight:  14 pounds Good with kids:  Probably not as he is very scared of fast movement Good with dogs:  YES! Good with cats:  YES! Current on vaccinations: Yes Fixed: Yes Adoption also includes Certified Vet Inspection, and prior vetting paperwork.   Foster location:  Iola, wi Application & Website: https://www.ourpackanimalrescue.com/adoption.html   Bio:   Meet Butch!    Butch made the trip from TX with a few of his friends that were all part of a horrific hoarding case that also involved a fire. Due to this trauma, he is learning what safety means and feels like. He is slow to warm up to humans, but instant friends with canines. Due to this, it will be imperative for Butch to get a forever home with a dog who can help him feel comfortable.    Butch has been making huge strides in his foster home! Due to his past trauma, his decompression time has been a bit longer than most. Every day he gets a little more comfortable with humans. He will need a patient human who will take things at Butch's pace AND a doggie friend to show him his human is safe!    Butch is a submissive boy to his canine friends. There has been no food aggression. He was the perfect gentleman to a tiny kitten his foster watched over night. He has been perfect with a consistent potty schedule. He sleeps in bed with his foster family every night and snores like a freight train.    Butch still gets spooked by fast movement but then realizes he is safe and comes right back for reassuring scritches on the chin!    If you have patience and a dog looking for a friend, apply today! Butch is waiting to meet you!!   Our Pack Animal Rescue,  Inc. Is an all foster based 501c3 rescue. License #487823. Meet and greets are arranged after an application has been approved. Story
Name: Solason Age: 4 Breed: hound mix Gender: Male Weight: 90lbs Good with kids: NA Good with dogs: Yes - plays hard, no puppies Good with cats: NA Current on vaccinations: Yes  Fixed:yes Adoption also includes Certified Vet Inspection, and Prior vetting paperwork.   Foster location: waupaca  Application & Website: https://www.ourpackanimalrescue.com/adoption.html   Bio: Solason is Sola’s son and brother to Hola, and he recently made the journey north with his mom after we learned their family was still waiting in a Texas shelter. While his mom prefers to pretend humans don’t exist, Solason is at least considering the idea. When you walk into the room, he’ll often wag his tail and give you a half-greeting — like he’s thinking about saying hello — before quickly remembering he’s supposed to be nervous and retreating back to the safety of a dog bed or the floor. Baby steps. We’ve also caught him secretly playing with some of his foster brothers when he thinks no one is watching. For a big guy, he can get surprisingly playful. He’s also very protective of his mom, which isn’t surprising considering everything they’ve been through together. We’re still figuring out whether the two are truly bonded or if what they share is more of a trauma bond after years of surviving side by side. Solason is about twice the size of his mom, weighing roughly 90 pounds, but despite his size he’s a gentle giant. He allows pets, loves food, and will even allow you to pick him up and carry him — which is equal parts adorable and slightly ridiculous considering how big he is. He can be a little particular about food… but the things he loves, he LOVES. Dogs who have spent years surviving instead of living often need extra time and patience to trust the world around them. Because of that, dogs like Solason can take longer to find the right home. We couldn’t have brought Solason here without your continued support — it truly means the world to us. For now, we’re celebrating the small wins and letting Solason move at his own pace. One day he’ll realize he doesn’t have to be afraid anymore. Until then, we’ll meet him exactly where he is. Stay tuned for updates on his progress. Solason will require a fenced in yard at this time as well. Our Pack Animal Rescue,  Inc. Foster location: Weyauwega Application & Website: https://www.ourpackanimalrescue.com/adoption.html Bio: Meet Alfie! At just 2.5 months old, Alfie is a Catahoula Cur mix with big puppy dreams and absolutely no clue what he's doing. This sweet Southern boy made the trip north in search of something every puppy deserves—a family of his very own. What he lacks in training, he makes up for in charm, puppy kisses, and the ability to make you forget why you walked into a room in the first place. Alfie is still very much a baby, which means he'll need all the puppy basics: potty training, leash training, learning house manners, and discovering that fingers, shoes, and furniture are not actually chew toys. Catahoula mixes are known for being intelligent, active, and loyal companions, so Alfie is looking for a family ready to help him grow into the amazing dog he's destined to become. 2.5 months old Catahoula Cur mix Professional cuddle enthusiast Part-time explorer Full-time puppy The puppy stage doesn't last forever, but the memories sure do. If you're ready for adventures, laughter, and a best friend who will love you unconditionally, Alfie is ready to meet you.
