Story
Meet Shaw! Shaw is an energetic, playful, and super sweet boy who is fully potty trained and very well-behaved in the house. He doesn’t need to be crated when you leave, rarely barks, and loves to curl up on the couch with soft blankets. He knows sit, shake, and wait, and sleeps in his crate at night. Shaw LOVES toys, especially balls, and is great at fetch and jumping to catch. He’ll bring toys to you when he wants to play or entertain himself pushing them around. He’s a cuddly guy who loves to rest his head on you… but he’s also a big licker! Giving him a toy helps redirect his excitement so he can enjoy calm snuggles. Shaw can be nervous with new people and needs slow introductions, especially inside the home. He currently lives with kids 10 and 14, but can be anxious around younger or unfamiliar children. Treats, toys, and being ignored at first help him warm up. He’s much more comfortable meeting new people out and about and at our adoption center and meets new dogs easily. Speaking of dogs, Shaw loves them. A playful dog companion would be ideal to help build his confidence and keep him busy. He enjoys walks, has lots of energy, and would do great with an active family. A fenced yard is a bonus, but he also does well on a tie-out. Shaw is goofy, affectionate, athletic, and so much fun. He just needs a patient, understanding home with older kids and a playful dog friend. Once he trusts you, he’ll be your loyal, loving, cuddly buddy.

Story
Meet Teddy, the adorable dude with a heart as big as his love for tennis balls! He’s a tidy little guy who keeps his space neat and loves snuggling up with his likimat, toys, blankets, and of coursehis favorite people! Teddy is a total goofball who enjoys a good game of fetch and a puzzle feeder challenge. He’s a quick learner, always happy to please, and easy to correct when needed (because he’s got a good head on those shoulders!). While Teddy is mostly quiet in his room, he’ll let you know if he needs a potty break or spots a fellow dog friend (he's a bit dog-selective, especially through fences). But he’s quick to get back on track with a little guidance. This playful, affectionate boy just wants to be loved and is ready to shower you with all his goofy, cuddly energy. He’s a pro at sitting, staying, and heeling and he’ll happily show off his skills. If you’re looking for a fun, loyal, and loveable companion, Teddy’s your guy!

Story
Draco is a very good boy with a wonderful, easygoing personality. He does great in a crate when you need to step out and is well-mannered on walks. He understands commands and is overall a well-behaved, eager-to-please companion. He’s done well with teenagers and shows no concerning behaviors around people, strangers included. At the Sanctuary, Draco has been around dogs of all sizes and ages and has done wonderfully with everyone. Cats are still an unknown for Draco and would likely require some guidance and training, so a cat-free home would be ideal for him. When it’s time to relax, Draco is all about the cuddles, especially during TV time. He enjoys toys, though he’s perfectly happy to skip them if something more interesting is going on. He has a medium-to-low energy level, making him adaptable to many home environments. Handsome, loving, playful, and gentle, Draco has a beautiful soul and an excellent demeanor. He’s truly an all-around great dog who’s ready to make someone very happy.

Story
Meet Katie B! This adorable girl has already come such a long way and continues to make progress every single day. While she may be shy at first, underneath that timid exterior is a sweet dog who truly wants to please and is learning how wonderful life with people can be. Katie B settles down nicely in her kennel or will quietly find a cozy place to relax. She is still learning how to walk on a leash and doesn’t fully understand commands yet, but her house manners are coming along very well. She’s the kind of dog who learns best with patience, consistency, and gentle encouragement. Katie B gets along well with other dogs and has shown no negative reactions to cats. Children should be fine for her as long as they understand to give her space and allow her to come to them on her own terms. She can be nervous about cuddling at first, but she has made incredible progress. Once she settles onto your lap, she relaxes and truly enjoys attention and gentle petting. She does tend to “start over” with new people and needs a little time to feel safe again, but she warms up faster as her confidence grows. Right now, Katie B is still learning how to play and discover what it means to simply be a dog. Watching her progress has been incredibly rewarding, and her little victories make her even more special. She came to us on the higher end of the semi-feral scale, but with patience and love she has already made tremendous strides and is now much more comfortable with people. Katie B will thrive in a calm, low-energy home with a patient, dog-savvy family willing to continue helping her build confidence. The family lucky enough to earn her trust will gain an incredibly rewarding companion and watch a beautiful transformation unfold.

Story
Meet Natalie! This sweet, easygoing girl is a joy to have around. She does great both in and out of her crate, you can leave her in any room without worry. She often chooses to relax in her crate on her own, and is wonderfully quiet with little to no barking or whining. Natalie knows her name and responds when called, and she’s currently working on polite manners like sitting before meals. She’s a quick learner! On leash, she can pull a bit on walks, but does very well in a yard and is eager to keep improving with a little guidance. If there’s one thing Natalie loves most, it’s affection, belly rubs and head scratches are her absolute favorite! When you’re petting her, she is in her element, happily leaning into you or wrapping around you for more. She greets strangers warmly, often jumping up in excitement to win over some extra belly rubs. She’ll always greet you with a happy, wiggly smile and even has an adorable little “dance” where she pops up and holds her paws up like she’s standing. Natalie is mostly mellow and calm, but you’ll see her excitement come out when you get home, when it’s time to go outside, or when she spots wildlife or hears the leash come out. She enjoys walks (and could even make a great running partner with a bit of training), and would benefit from a yard where she can burn off some energy. She’s not much into toys, but will occasionally enjoy chewing on a bone. Overall, Natalie is a calm, curious, and affectionate companion who loves her people deeply, but also knows how to give you space when you need it. If you’re looking for a laid-back dog who thrives on love, enjoys getting outside, and will happily soak up all the belly rubs you can give, Natalie could be your perfect match!
