Story
Meet Mika! This curious, happy, people-loving puppy is ready to be your adventure buddy! She is still learning about the world, but she is already showing us what a smart, eager-to-please girl she is.
Mika LOVES people. She wants to be wherever her humans are, whether that means playing, going for a walk, snuggling on the couch, or simply lying beside you while you work. She is friendly with everyone she meets and is always happy to greet new people before curling up beside them when she needs a break. At night, she especially loves sleeping right next to her people.
Mika has plenty of puppy energy and loves running, playing with people, tug toys, squeaky toys, and other dogs. She has done well with children ages 5–15 and is kind and playful with them. Like any young puppy, she still has those sharp puppy teeth and is learning that hands and clothing aren't chew toys, so younger children will need appropriate supervision and guidance.
Mika also loves other dogs! She lives with a 35-pound Red Heeler mix and has been learning all about canine friendships and boundaries. She enjoys running and playing with other dogs and is wonderful about sharing her toys with her canine housemate. She also does great passing other dogs on walks without reacting to them, making outings together even more enjoyable.
Speaking of walks, Mika walks wonderfully on a leash! She is always ready to explore, although grasshoppers beware: she still thinks every single one she comes across is a snack. She loves exploring nature, investigating water and ponds, and discovering all the interesting things the outdoors has to offer. She's even starting to learn how to fetch and bring toys back!
Mika is also a fan of brain games, especially treat-dispensing puzzle toys that let her put that clever puppy brain to work. She enjoys having things to investigate and activities to keep her busy. And unlike some dogs who think a muddy puddle is an invitation to roll around, Mika manages to keep herself relatively clean during her outdoor adventures!
Mika is making great progress with her crate routine. She does well eating her meals in her crate and can comfortably stay crated for a couple of hours at a time. She isn't destructive in her crate, and she continues to learn that it can be a comfortable place to relax. She still prefers having her people nearby and would love a home where she gets plenty of companionship rather than being alone for a full workday without breaks or enrichment.
Potty training is progressing, as expected for a puppy her age. She's also a wonderful little travel companion! Mika rides quietly in the car and often settles in for a nap along the way.
Mika can be a little nervous when something is unfamiliar, but with encouragement from her people, she gains confidence and is willing to explore. She's the kind of puppy who genuinely wants to learn and make her family happy. She even sits for treats!
We see some German Shepherd-like traits in Mika, particularly in the way she carries herself and walks with her hind legs. Her intelligence, curiosity, and eagerness to please could make training especially rewarding.
Mika would love an active home that wants a puppy to learn, play, and grow alongside them. Camping, hiking, long walks, outdoor adventures, training classes, or even a future hunting companion could all be right up her alley. She is equally happy running full speed outside or curling up beside you after a day of exploring.
Mika is looking for someone ready to embrace all the fun, learning, chewing, cuddling, and occasional chaos that come with puppyhood. She's a smart girl with a big heart, and she's ready to find her person to share life's adventures with!
