Story
We have had Chico since he was a baby, my mother bought him for my eldest, and he ended up my responsibility lol. He is supposedly a red healer and he is a bundle of energy. He is constantly around my 4 kids (a teen, twin 8 year olds, and a five year old). He was a covid dog though so he isn't very socialized with lots of people or animals. My mom lives with us and she has a small dog that he gets along with fine. He really does need someone who will socialize him as I just do not have the time. He needs a family with a yard that is fenced. I do not have the money or permission to install a fence on my property and he is a runner. He has so much energy and just wants to run around. I have to walk him on a leash cause he slips out of every type of tie out I have tried, there for every time i open the door without putting him in his kennel first he is off!!! He has come to taking that as play time and has turned me getting him back into a game. He loves to ride in the car!

Story
Adora-bull! That's how we'd describe Iliana, (Lily) our beautiful Staffordshire Terrier mix. She'd love to join your family! Lily is looking for an experienced dog owner to provide structure and snuggles! She'd do best in a home without kitty-cats as she likes to give chase and play! Lily does well with most dogs, when given a proper and slow introduction. She is a little wary of newcomers, but blossoms quickly when allowed patience to adjust on her terms. Lily loves to bestow sloppy doggie kisses upon her favorite caretakers. She just enjoys human company! Lily would excel in a home with a fenced yard so can chase after toys to her heart's content. If you're a seasoned dog owner with patience and love to spare, please fill out an online adoption application! We know this adora-bull girl is adopta-bull! Lily is currently located at our Sanctuary near Marion, WI where any meet and greets with Lily would take place!

Story
Shaw is an energetic, fun-loving goofball who’s always ready for action! He’s house-trained and totally cool hanging out in his crate or chilling at home when left alone. But don’t let that fool you—this guy has energy for days and loves to play, play, play! Squeaky toys? Yep! Fetch? Absolutely! If you’re not throwing the ball, don’t worry—he’ll just drop it at your feet and patiently (or not-so-patiently) wait for you to get the hint. Shaw is great with smaller dogs and loves having a little buddy to romp around with! He can be a bit nervous around larger dogs, so he’d need some time and positive introductions to feel comfortable. When it comes to people, he’s good with kids of all ages, he does have a playful, bouncy energy so kids who can keep up with his zest for life would be best. He’s currently living with a 9- and 13-year-old and having a blast! Meeting new people? Shaw can be a little cautious at first, but bring out the treats, and you’ll be best friends in no time! Once he knows they’re cool, he’s all about the love (and the licks—LOTS of licks). When he’s getting pets, he’ll even wrap his paws around your arm like a big ol’ hug! Walks? He’s got those down, though he’s still figuring out that strange noises and unfamiliar objects aren’t out to get him. At the end of the day, once he’s burned off all that energy, he crashes hard and sleeps like a champ. If you’re looking for a funny, playful, and endlessly entertaining companion who will keep you moving and laughing, Shaw is your guy!

Story
Meet Red—a lovable, goofy boy who's figuring out life as a companion! He may have some quirks, but that’s just part of his charm. Red has a knack for bonding deeply with his person. He thrives on one-on-one connection and is eager to form a strong, loving relationship. While he’s a loyal and affectionate companion, Red could benefit from a person that is open to working on socialization to help him build confidence and navigate new situations and people with ease. For this reason, a home with no kids might be the best match for his personality. Red has some opinions about crates. He’ll gladly take a nap in one on his terms, but if he’s left alone, expect a full concert on his behalf! In Red’s world, car rides and being by your side are way more fun than crates—he’ll hop in the backseat and snooze the whole way. On a leash, Red’s a dream, staying right by your side with zero pulling. He takes his time, managing about a mile for now, but he’s got his sights on longer adventures. Not even a wandering turkey or fluttering leaf will distract this chill guy! Red’s already mastering “Come” and “Go potty” and is working on “Sit.” When he wants some love, he’ll nudge your hand in the cutest way possible. He’s all about affection and will happily let you snuggle up close—he’s not even phased if you use him as a pillow! This boy is shy and unsure with new folks, but with a gentle and slow approach, he will likely come around. He’s a true “Velcro dog,” shadowing his favorite humans everywhere they go. And, yep, he may try to sneak a taste of whatever’s on the counter when you’re cooking, but a gentle “No” redirects him right away. Playtime? Red’s got a flair for tossing soft toys around and practicing his “puppy gallop,” looking adorably clumsy yet determined. He’s more into stuffed animals than balls, and he loves a treat-filled Kong to wind down at night. With so much love to give, Red’s ideal home is one where he can go on adventures, strengthen his bond with his people, and keep growing into the incredible dog he’s meant to be. He may be shy at first, but with patience and love, he’ll warm your heart in no time—and he’s totally worth it. Ready to continue this sweet boy’s journey? Red’s waiting to bring a whole lot of love, snuggles, and joy into your life!

Story
Meet Chip! Are you ready to meet a senior superstar who’s still got plenty of pep in his step? Say hello to Chip, a 13-year-old bundle of charm, smarts, and tennis-ball obsession! Chip is house-trained, has excellent manners, and does well when left alone. He’s also a pro on a leash and knows his commands like a seasoned gentleman. Whether he’s chilling in his crate or relaxing in the house, Chip keeps his space tidy and his vibes low-key. While he’s a bit selective about other animals, he has shown to be relaxed around cats. Chip’s heart has grown big enough to welcome new human friends—he’s come a long way in learning to trust strangers and even enjoys interactions with them now! Tennis balls are his absolute favorite toy (a classic choice for a refined fellow like him), and he’ll happily fetch or chew the day away. At the sanctuary, Chip has been well-loved and happy, but as they say, “there’s no place like home.” He’s looking for a calm, low-traffic environment where he can be the only pet, ideally with no young kids. Chip thrives in a peaceful setting where he can soak up love and companionship. Though he had a mistrust of strangers as a younger pup, Chip has worked hard to overcome it and has made amazing progress. Like any dog, he’ll need a home that understands his boundaries and ensures his comfort and safety. Chip may be 13, but he’s still active, playful, and oh-so-adorable. He deserves a place to call his very own—a quiet home filled with love, tennis balls, and all the belly rubs he can handle. Could you be the one to give Chip his happily-ever-after? 🐾❤️

Story
Meet Judy, the cuddle-loving, zoomie-powered sweetheart you’ve been waiting for! This adorable pup is a total lovebug who wants to be everyone’s best friend. She adores snuggling and will happily cozy up with anyone willing to give her belly rubs. When she’s not soaking up affection, she’s zooming around—because, well, zoomies are life! Judy is a smart cookie who already knows basic commands and is learning her manners like a champ. She’s a great walker, enjoys her chew toys (and will even give them up on command—what a good girl!), and settles into her crate nicely after a quick 5-minute protest. She’s curious about kitties—maybe a little too curious—especially when they run, so a cat-free home might be best. Judy thrives in a chill to medium-energy household where she can love on her humans without getting too overstimulated. While she likes kids, a home without super energetic little ones would be ideal—she just gets too excited. Judy is young, eager to learn, and already well on her way to being the best pup. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and totally sweet companion, this happy girl is ready to steal your heart!
