Story
Meet Teddy, the adorable dude with a heart as big as his love for tennis balls! He’s a tidy little guy who keeps his space neat and loves snuggling up with his likimat, toys, blankets, and of coursehis favorite people! Teddy is a total goofball who enjoys a good game of fetch and a puzzle feeder challenge. He’s a quick learner, always happy to please, and easy to correct when needed (because he’s got a good head on those shoulders!). While Teddy is mostly quiet in his room, he’ll let you know if he needs a potty break or spots a fellow dog friend (he's a bit dog-selective, especially through fences). But he’s quick to get back on track with a little guidance. This playful, affectionate boy just wants to be loved and is ready to shower you with all his goofy, cuddly energy. He’s a pro at sitting, staying, and heeling and he’ll happily show off his skills. If you’re looking for a fun, loyal, and loveable companion, Teddy’s your guy!

Story
Meet Shaw! Shaw is an energetic, playful, and super sweet boy who is fully potty trained and very well-behaved in the house. He doesn’t need to be crated when you leave, rarely barks, and loves to curl up on the couch with soft blankets. He knows sit, shake, and wait, and sleeps in his crate at night. Shaw LOVES toys, especially balls, and is great at fetch and jumping to catch. He’ll bring toys to you when he wants to play or entertain himself pushing them around. He’s a cuddly guy who loves to rest his head on you… but he’s also a big licker! Giving him a toy helps redirect his excitement so he can enjoy calm snuggles. Shaw can be nervous with new people and needs slow introductions, especially inside the home. He currently lives with kids 10 and 14, but can be anxious around younger or unfamiliar children. Treats, toys, and being ignored at first help him warm up. He’s much more comfortable meeting new people out and about and at our adoption center and meets new dogs easily. Speaking of dogs, Shaw loves them. A playful dog companion would be ideal to help build his confidence and keep him busy. He enjoys walks, has lots of energy, and would do great with an active family. A fenced yard is a bonus, but he also does well on a tie-out. Shaw is goofy, affectionate, athletic, and so much fun. He just needs a patient, understanding home with older kids and a playful dog friend. Once he trusts you, he’ll be your loyal, loving, cuddly buddy.

Story
Draco is a very good boy with a wonderful, easygoing personality. He does great in a crate when you need to step out and is well-mannered on walks. He understands commands and is overall a well-behaved, eager-to-please companion. He’s done well with teenagers and shows no concerning behaviors around people, strangers included. At the Sanctuary, Draco has been around dogs of all sizes and ages and has done wonderfully with everyone. Cats are still an unknown for Draco and would likely require some guidance and training, so a cat-free home would be ideal for him. When it’s time to relax, Draco is all about the cuddles, especially during TV time. He enjoys toys, though he’s perfectly happy to skip them if something more interesting is going on. He has a medium-to-low energy level, making him adaptable to many home environments. Handsome, loving, playful, and gentle, Draco has a beautiful soul and an excellent demeanor. He’s truly an all-around great dog who’s ready to make someone very happy.

Story
Meet Donnie! Donnie is a big-hearted, friendly boy who just wants to be part of the fun. He relaxes after a few minutes and is already crate trained. While he’s still fine-tuning his leash manners, he knows his basic commands and is working on consistency. Donnie is a smart, eager learner who truly wants to please. He’s been around teenagers here at the Sanctuary and does well. Based on what we’ve seen with cats, small dogs, and people in general, he’s likely to do well with a variety of companions, though, as always, slow introductions are important. He loves joining playgroups with other dogs and has shown no reactivity to cats. Donnie is affectionate, people-oriented, and always happy to meet new friends. He enjoys chew toys and stuffed toys and has no problem handing them over when asked. He’s a loving companion who thrives on attention, the more, the better! Because of his size and youthful energy, he’ll need some guidance around small children, but with leadership and structure, Donnie has all the makings of a truly wonderful dog. Sweet, playful, and quick to learn, he’s ready to become the perfect companion for a family willing to help him shine.

Story
Meet Heidi, a truly special girl with a gentle heart and a deep love for her people. She thrives on companionship and would much rather be by your side than doing just about anything else. Heidi listens beautifully and already knows commands like sit and shake, showing just how eager she is to connect and please. While she’ll occasionally show interest in toys, her favorite activity is simply being with you, whether that’s relaxing nearby or gazing thoughtfully out the window as she watches the world go by. Heidi’s stunning cinnamon-colored coat makes her stand out, but it’s her big, soulful brown eyes that leave the biggest impression. She has a calm, endearing presence and an adorable ability to fall asleep just about anywhere, in any position, making her foster family smile daily. She enjoys her meals and treats and settles down nicely when it’s time to rest, even though the crate isn’t her favorite place. She has done wonderfully meeting new people, including during her Dog's Big Day Out visits to local dog-friendly businesses, where she handled new environments and attention with ease and grace. Heidi has also done well with kids, other dogs, and cats, showing just how adaptable and loving she is. Chickens, however, are not her thing. Now settling into her foster home, Heidi is already proving to be a devoted, affectionate companion. As we continue to learn more about her, one thing is already certain, Heidi has so much love to give and is ready to find a home where she can be someone’s loyal best friend.

Story
Tinman may be a little shy when meeting new people, but his confidence grows more and more each day. He often looks to his brother, Scarecrow, for reassurance, so another dog in the home would be great for this guy, but not required. Behind his initial shyness is a sweet boy who truly loves being around people once he feels comfortable. Tinman’s story is one of resilience. After losing his mom at a very young age, he was lovingly raised in foster care as a bottle baby. From day one, he has been a resilient little guy, overcoming challenges with quiet strength and determination. He has grown up surrounded by goats, ducks, geese, chickens, and donkeys, giving him a unique and enriching start to life and helping him become well-rounded and adaptable. Tinman is as unique as he is lovable, with an all-black face accented by a thin white line down his nose, a bit of white spilling to the side, and charming black speckling across his coat. His markings make him just as special on the outside as he is on the inside. Tinman enjoys food, treats, and toys, and he especially loves running around outside and playing. He is currently working on potty and crate training and continues to make great progress. With a little patience and encouragement, Tinman blossoms into a loving, playful companion who is ready to grow and thrive in a home of his own.
