If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org. Meet Gobbler! (er, Gabby, Gabby fits her much better!) Gabby is a sweet, approximately 6-month-old Lab mix with a heart full of potential. She was rescued as a stray by SPAC, so her past is a bit of a mystery. When she first arrived in her foster home, Gabby was understandably a little shy and guarded. But after just a couple of days, she quickly warmed up to the love and attention she was receiving, and now she enjoys cuddles, pets, and affection. Gabby has made great progress with her training, including both potty training and crate training, and she's been a quick learner! She’s still a typical puppy, meaning she’s a little mouthy, but she’s easily redirected with some guidance. Because she can be vocal in her kennel, she might not be the best fit for a home with shared walls, but she's sure to thrive in a more private, active environment. An active person or family would be the perfect fit for Gabby. She has lots of energy and love to give, and she’s ready to find her forever home where she can continue to grow and be the loyal companion she’s meant to be. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate puppy to join your family, Gabby could be the one! She'd really love to go home for the howlidays this year.  Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. Story
Dunne, which is pronounced “Dune,” is a very special boy who made the journey all the way from Afghanistan to come live in Minnesota. He is a sweet, gentle, 50 pound golden mix born 1/1/22. He is starting to adjust to his new surroundings and has learned so much in the last few weeks. Poor boy has not had much for socialization, we are working with him but needs more time to learn to "be a dog" so he NEEDS another dog to show him how to dog! Dunne loves to be around his people so much that being kenneled is hard for him. He is not a fan of the kennel, he gets calming treats when we have to leave or when he has to be in his kennel. He loves car rides and loves to be brushed and pet. He nudges your hand for neck scratches. He also loves getting a bath. He is very concerned about pleasing others and is easily trained.  He has a very mild, sweet disposition with a low energy level. He would probably love a doggie companion to help show him how cool it is to be a dog in the USA. He will be a dedicated companion with lots of love to give. Dunne is a blank canvas and would love to have a person that will love him and teach him how to be the dog he knows he wants to be.   We’ve got some exciting news about this pup’s age! Thanks to DNA testing from Embark, we’ve got a fresh take on how old they really are. A big shoutout to Embark for generously donating these tests for us to explore! You might spot a difference between Embark's findings and our original guess—after all, no test or person is 100% accurate. It’s all part of the adventure!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi! I’m Gypsy! I am a golden retriever mix who’s at that golden age stage where I’m not as active as a puppy but not as slow as a senior. I am about 3yrs old (10/2021). Unfortunately, through no fault of my own, I was bounced around a bit between different owners, so I haven’t had a stable home yet. But that’s where YOU come in! I’m hoping my sweet golden eyes with entice you to welcome me into your home forever. With my past of being bounced around, I do have some anxiety (more so in a kennel for long periods) but I do take a daily anxiety medication that helps. Just put it in a pill pocket and I’ll gobble it right up with my morning meal. This HAS to be given EVERY morning. It is NOT a medication that can be given every so often or to be stopped suddenly on. My foster mom highly, highly recommends that I stay on it life long due to the unstable rough beginning I have had. I love playing with toys, kids, and other dogs. I have been known to be more of a dominant female, but only to some female dogs. I like to sniff cats at first, but then will completely ignore them. I ride great in a car – I love looking out the windows! I am crate trained (although may whine a little at the start knowing you’re going) & house trained. I am a great mix of calm and activity, as you see I will cuddle with you on the couch during the movie times but also would love to have zoomies in a yard or go for a run. Won’t you please be my forever?  I would be yours forever as long as I'm Your brown-eyed girl Do you remember when we used to sing? Story
This is Hazey, a 5-year-old female golden retriever weighing about 60 pounds. Until she was rescued by NDLB, her entire life was spent being bred. As a result, Hazey is very scared of people; she tries her absolute hardest to be invisible. Hazey chooses to spend most of the day in her safe spots, but has started to explore the house and will sometimes hang out in the living room with us. She is not an active dog - she’d much rather snooze the day away. Getting her out of the kennel to go potty may take some maneuvering, especially at first. In our home, she’s now at the point where she will walk herself in and outside for potty breaks. She’s had very few accidents which mostly occur when she’s scared. Hazey is terrified of the leash and is easily startled, which makes her a flight risk. As such, a fully fenced and secured yard is required for her safety. Hazey lives with a 70lb dog and has been exposed to other dogs of varying sizes. She isn’t too interested in them at the moment, although she does look to the other dogs for guidance and they do provide comfort for her. For this reason, Hazey would do best in a home with a patient and well-adjusted dog that can show her the ropes. She hasn’t been exposed to cats but would likely do just fine with them. Hazey also hasn’t been around kids and would do best in a home without children. She prefers quiet and calm. This sweet, beautiful girl needs time to decompress and adjust to her new life after years of neglect. If you are someone with a big heart and lots of patience, please apply!  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, dental, Prepaid microchip, Deworming, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Comet is a 6-year-old golden retriever who arrived in Minnesota at the end of September. As a breeder release, Comet was initially very shy and unsure in his new environment. Over the past couple of weeks, Comet has learned to walk through doorways, go up and down short flights of stairs, and is beginning to get more comfortable walking on hard floors. Comet is more confident outside and even went on a four day camping trip with his foster family. He is getting better at walking on a leash but often likes to stop in front of his human for scratches.    Comet has had no accidents and is potty trained on a schedule. He can hold his bladder for a long time but does get a potty break at lunchtime. Comet sleeps in his kennel at night or when his foster family is at work. This sweet, lazy boy doesn’t seem to mind a chance to nap!   Comet has done well with the resident dog. He often copies what she is doing and will follow her around the house and yard. Comet will chase after balls but hasn’t figured out fetch yet. He has been introduced to simple obedience commands but will need further training.     Although he can still be a little nervous, Comet is a super sweet pup who loves attention. He would do best in a quiet home without lots of stairs. Comet would probably adjust faster with a confident resident dog but has already made great progress in the couple of weeks he has been in rescue. Let’s find this affectionate boy his cuddle buddy!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Meet Nikita, a 2 year old Golden Retriever!  She is just about the sweetest little girl you could ever meet. Nikita is still working through whatever trauma she came to us with from her previous life. She is a breeder rescue, so everything about living in a home seems new to her and she can be a little skittish.  She has her safe spot in the living room tucked in a corner where she likes to lay and will retreat to if she gets anxious. She likes to sleep on the floor next to our bed at night, again tucked in a corner. She has yet to use the dog beds. We have been taking it slow with her but she is catching on quickly! She has nearly mastered the leash and loves to go for walks. She is fully potty trained with no accidents in the house. She doesn't indicate when she needs to go, we just take her out regularly. She will not use her kennel, in fact, she seems afraid of it.  She will go up and down the two steps at the front door, but she will not go up or down a full flight of stairs yet. She  is learning all about how to be a family dog from her two silly foster brothers. She likes to watch them and follow them around, just observing. She doesn't really play with them yet but seems to enjoy their company. She has a ways to go but it is clear that she is determined to keep trying! She is very affectionate and it comforts her to sit or lay close to her foster mom whenever she can. She loves to be pet and talked to. She has soulful eyes and a calm/gentle demeanor. It seems she would be a great companion for a person or family in an environment that is calm and not too chaotic. She still startles easily but that seems to get better each day. She does not resource guard and does not seem highly food motivated. We have not yet observed her with cats or kids but she's great with adults and other dogs. She is truly a sweet girl and she will blossom in her forever home. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
