Age: DOB 8/6/2022 Weight: 72lbs Dog friendly:does best as an only dog Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: When properly introduced Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Unknown ***FENCED YARD REQUIRED*** Hello! My name is Lewis but I am often called Lou If you are looking for a friend to watch whatever shows you want on tv I am your guy! If you are looking for someone that loves to chill on the couch with then I am your guy! If you are looking for someone to take walks with or even go for a jog with them I am also your guy as I love to go on walks! I love my humans and get attached to them, so it would be best if I was your one and only fur baby! I do like kids but have never been around real little kids so you may have to watch that I don’t knock them over as I would feel bad. I would love to be with someone who isn’t gone all the time as I will miss them so much. I roam free when my humans are gone and do fine with that, although I do have a habit of counter surfing so its best if you do not leave any food on the counter for me to snack on. I am told that I am the sweetest boy and would love to find my forever home so you can see that too. Lou Adoption Fee: $495

Story
Meet Dunne! This sweet boy originally came to us from Afghanistan and is looking for a patient family who will help him continue to build confidence. Dunne can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he trusts you, his loving personality shines through. He does well with other dogs and may benefit from having a confident canine companion to show him the ropes.   Dunne is a playful, energetic boy who loves to run and have fun. Because he is still learning how to navigate the world, a home without young children may be the best fit since he doesn’t always realize his size. New dogs while out on walks can make him nervous, and he may try to put on a big-dog act to feel safe — something his foster family is helping him work through.   Dunne takes daily anxiety medication to help him feel his best, and he takes it like a champ! He may not be the dog who joins you for busy outings or crowded dog parks, but he would love nothing more than to curl up on the couch, wait for you to come home, and be your loyal companion every day.         Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $425.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 18, 2026, 9:49 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Honeysuckle found herself unwanted and in a high kill shelter in West Texas.  She is good with other dogs, and people. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful.Hi! My name is Honeysuckle, but my foster calls me Honey because, once you know me, I'm as sweet as can be.I'm a young Golden Retriever mix with a gentle heart and a sensitve soul. I'm not your typical 'everyone is my best friend' Golden. New people and unfamiliar situations can be scarey for me, so I need a family that understands I'll take a little time to settle in. Once I trust you, you'll see my goofy, affectionate Golden personality shine through- with plenty of belly rub requests! One thing you will never have to question is how much I love other dogs.  I do best with playful, confident but respectful canine friends who can show me the ropes and help me feel safe. Because of this, I must have another playful and confident dog in my forever home.  Wrestling, chasing each other around the yard and house or stealing toys so my friends will chase me back are some of my favorite games. My foster says I often purr when I play, especially with other dogs, so don't be alarmed.  I also need a securely fenced yard where I can safely zoom, sunbathe, patrol as an honorary member of the Neighborhood Watch and simply enjoy the outdoors. Invisisble fences, long lines, GPS or e-collars aren't the right fit for me.  I'm fast, energetic and happiest with a physical fence.  While I love other dogs, a dog park will not be appropriate for me while I adjust. Although I am a Texas Girl, I discovered I absoluetly love snow! Rain doesn't  bother me either, but thunder and fireworks? Those are pretty scarey.I'm active and playful, but I'm equally happy relaxing outside or curling up to my people after a fun day. At night, I sleep quietly on my dog bed in my foster's room ( I will sneak on the bed when I can for a snuggle) and during the day I'm happy supervising from another dog bed while my foster works from home. I'm fully potty trained, crate trained and even know how to use a doggy door. My crate is my safe space,  and I happily go in when asked-especially if you remember to pay me with a treat! I ride nicely in the car and have learned that leashes usually lead to fun adventures. Walks in familiar places are becoming easier, although new environments can still be overwhelming. I've worked hard in obedience and agility classes, and they've helped me become much braver. I'll need a family who will continue taking me to training classes so I can keep building my confidence while strengthening our bond together. My foster or the rescue can recommend training facilities near you. I'm wonderful with children, but because I can become excited and occasionally mouthy like an oversized puppy, I'd likely do best in a home with a little older children. I am good around toddlers/infants, and with supervision and clear direction I can be around them if they are visiting.  I take treats gently, enjoy interacting with kids and am learning that calm is rewarding, I simply need continued guidance as I mature. When visitors come over, I may bark or grumble at first because strangers make me nervous. The best way to win me over is with patience, a few tasty treats, and letting me approach at my own pace. If my dog friends trust you, I'm much more likely to decide you're ok too. Given time, I become a loyal and loving companion to all. Speaking of treats...I'm not picky! Peanut butter, coconut oil, watermelon, pineapple, canteloupe, pumpkin, green beans, bananas, cucumbers,  ice cubes- you name it, I'll probably love it (the only expection? Red Delicious apples. Whoever named those clearly never asked me!)I am also a professional chewer, so durable toys are my best friends. Stuffed toys need supervision because I enjoy removing squeakers and chewing off little pieces. Pigs ears, yak chews, collagen chews, cheek rolls and sticks from the yard are much better choices to keep me happily occupied.Grooming? No problem! Who doesn't like a spa day? I enjoy being brushed, nail trims are no big deal and tolerate tidy ups all while being a perfect lady. Baths aren't exactly my favorite activity,  but I handle them like a champ. I enjoy going to the groomers too. Most of all, I am looking for a pateint family who understands that confidence grows with kindness and consistency. Sometimes I just need a little extra time to watch the world before jumping ino it. Raised voices or overwhelming situations can cause me to shut down, but gentle encouragement helps me find my courage. My foster says I'm a silly, loving, nearly perfect girl who's come so incredibly far, I may not be the right dog for everyone, but for the family willing to give me the patience and understanding I deserve, I'll be an incredibly loyal and affectionate companion. Could that family be yours? If you think we'd be the perfect match, please submit an application on the rescue's website. https://mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org/      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 17, 2026, 10:35 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!         If you’re looking for a puppy who will fill your home with laughter, love, and endless happy moments, Natalie just might be your perfect match. This sweet Goldendoodle girl has been an absolute joy in foster care. She has a heart full of love, a playful spirit, and the kind of personality that makes everyone she meets fall for her. Natalie adores people and is happiest when she’s surrounded by her favorite humans. Whether she’s following you around the house, snuggling up for bedtime, or greeting new friends with a wagging tail and an excited bounce, she approaches life with contagious enthusiasm. She’s friendly, outgoing, and always excited to hop in the car for a new adventure. One of Natalie’s greatest joys is playing with other dogs. She and her resident foster sister have become the best of friends, spending their days wrestling, playing, and chewing on bones together. Because of how much she enjoys canine companionship, Natalie would love a home with another playful dog to help burn off puppy energy and continue teaching her the ropes. That said, she could also thrive as an only dog if her family is home often and ready to give her plenty of attention, playtime, and exercise. Like any young puppy, Natalie is still learning. She’s working on her basic manners and commands and is catching on quickly. She can get a little excited when meeting new people and may jump up to say hello, but she’s eager to please and has all the makings of a wonderful, well-mannered adult with continued positive training. At bedtime, Natalie would happily choose to cuddle up in bed with her people and canine friends. While the kennel isn’t her favorite place, she’s making good progress. She may bark for a little while when first crated if left home alone, but she eventually settles down and keeps her kennel clean. She’s also doing well with house training, though like many puppies, she’ll need continued supervision—especially around carpet, where accidents are more likely. On hard flooring, she does very well. Natalie truly is the total puppy package: affectionate, playful, social, adventurous, and full of love. She’ll reward the family willing to invest in her puppy training with years of loyal companionship, goofy antics, and unconditional love. Whoever welcomes Natalie home won’t just be adopting a puppy—they’ll be gaining a best friend.   I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Meet Buffy! ☀️ Buffy is a big, sunny, smiley girl with an even bigger heart. Found as a stray in South Dakota, this lovable lady greets each day with a happy face and her signature "helicopter tail" that spins in circles whenever she's excited. Buffy is on an inspiring weight-loss journey, already making progress with daily walks and a healthier diet. She loves peaceful morning strolls, relaxing outside to watch the world go by, and soaking up affection from her favorite people. She's gentle, intelligent, and gets along well with resident dogs she knows, though she can be reactive to unfamiliar dogs on leash and will need continued management and training in those situations. Buffy also has some arthritis, so she takes medication to keep her comfortable and would thrive in a low-key home without lots of stairs. She previously had a benign growth removed from one of her toes, and while it may return in the future, she's currently doing well. If you're looking for a sweet, easygoing companion with a loving spirit, a goofy smile, and endless affection to give, Buffy is ready to find the family who will cheer her on through the rest of her journey.

Story
Pippa is a 6-month-old Golden Retriever mix with a heart as big as her puppy-dog eyes. Weighing just over 32 pounds now, this joyful girl is expected to grow into a medium-sized companion who will be ready for all of life's adventures—and plenty of cuddle sessions afterward.Pippa is affectionate, gentle-hearted, and deeply devoted to her people. Whether she's exploring the outdoors, playing with her canine friends, or curling up beside you on the couch, she wants nothing more than to be part of the family. In fact, one of her favorite habits is hopping onto the couch and claiming the exact spot she thinks you'll sit in so she can be as close to you as possible! As a young puppy, Pippa is still learning the ropes. She's making great progress with house training and does most of her business outside when given regular opportunities. She is familiar with crate training and willingly goes into her kennel, but she's currently working on building confidence when left alone. Pippa experiences separation anxiety and is happiest when she has companionship and routine. Because of this, she would thrive in a home with a mature, friendly resident dog who can help her feel secure and continue teaching her that being alone isn't so scary.Pippa loves children and has lived successfully with them in the past. She's energetic and playful, but she also has a wonderful snuggly side. She'll need a family committed to providing both physical exercise and mental enrichment, along with the patience to help her continue growing into a confident adult dog.Pippa came into rescue as a young puppy and was dearly loved by her previous family. Unfortunately, they were unprepared for the level of support she needed to work through her separation anxiety and made the difficult decision to help her find a home better suited to her needs. Since arriving in foster care, Pippa's trust and confidence have blossomed, and she's learning every day that the world is a safe place. If you're looking for a loyal, loving best friend who will greet every day with enthusiasm and every cuddle with her whole heart, Pippa may be your perfect match. She'll do best with a family that understands puppies take time, patience, and consistency—and she'll reward that investment with endless love and devotion. If you are interested in Pippa, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
