If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org. Meet Gobbler! (er, Gabby, Gabby fits her much better!) Gabby is a sweet, approximately 6-month-old Lab mix with a heart full of potential. She was rescued as a stray by SPAC, so her past is a bit of a mystery. When she first arrived in her foster home, Gabby was understandably a little shy and guarded. But after just a couple of days, she quickly warmed up to the love and attention she was receiving, and now she enjoys cuddles, pets, and affection. Gabby has made great progress with her training, including both potty training and crate training, and she's been a quick learner! She’s still a typical puppy, meaning she’s a little mouthy, but she’s easily redirected with some guidance. Because she can be vocal in her kennel, she might not be the best fit for a home with shared walls, but she's sure to thrive in a more private, active environment. An active person or family would be the perfect fit for Gabby. She has lots of energy and love to give, and she’s ready to find her forever home where she can continue to grow and be the loyal companion she’s meant to be. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate puppy to join your family, Gabby could be the one! She'd really love to go home for the howlidays this year.  Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.  ##2237150##

Story
Meet Stormy, a nearly 9-year-old retriever mix with a heart full of love and a personality that’s impossible to resist. While he may not be the typical ball-chasing retriever, Stormy excels in the art of relaxation, preferring short walks, long naps, and hours of sunbathing in the yard. His calm demeanor and food-motivated nature make him an easy companion for someone seeking a low-maintenance, laid-back friend. Though his retriever instincts may not apply to toys, they come to life when treats are involved—he listens well and responds beautifully to reward-based training. Stormy does come with a few manageable quirks, such as his allergies (corn being one of them), which are kept in check with daily Benadryl and occasional Apoquel. He’s also a champ at tolerating baths, paw washes, and ear cleanings, especially if treats are involved! While he may need a gentle reminder now and then to curb his begging or excitement, he’s eager to please and quick to follow simple commands. Stormy gets along well with other dogs in his foster home and is wonderfully easy to walk on a leash, making him an ideal companion for any lifestyle. One of Stormy’s most endearing qualities is his subtle “talking” bark, a quiet sound to capture your attention, whether he wants to go outside or simply needs a little love. He also has an adorable morning routine with happy stretches and wiggles that belie his senior status. He gets a little anxious around delivery trucks or the front door but has made great progress in training and responds well to commands like “quiet,” especially when treats are involved. With a little patience and understanding, Stormy will continue to thrive in a calm and loving home. This sweet senior is happiest when he’s lounging near his humans, receiving a good butt scratch, or spending time in his kennel, where he’ll willingly go when tired. Regardless, he brings a sense of peace to every room he inhabits. Whether you have other pets or are looking for a solo companion, Stormy is ready to fill your home with warmth, loyalty, and quiet charm. If you’re seeking a devoted, easygoing friend who will greet you every day with quiet joy, Stormy might just be your perfect match. Want to learn more? Story
Hi! My name is Stripe and I am from Alabama. Stripe is the strongest little dog I've ever met. Let's do the basics first he is home trained. He is very food motivated so I am assuming he will be easy to train. He does like to counter serve but I assume that is because he had to be a scavenger for quite a while. He is such a loving boy. Against all odds, he is a survivor and he has a strong heart. He is recovering nicely from mange and from having his leg amputated. He gets along with my dog wonderfully. He hardly barks. He sometimes goes in his grade reluctantly, but I just throw a couple treats in there and then he hops in there. I don't know if you want all of his health problems he's not neutered , he's heartworm positive and he's recovering from heaven his right front leg amputated. His hair is growing back nicely. He is one of the most easiest Fosters I have had. I love him to death. I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. My adoption can take place during treatment, while TBB manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at The Bond Between Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family. From his foster: Stripe is a champion. He had his front right leg amputated because it was broken. He is recovering from mange and is looking pretty handsome. He is healing nicely and such a trooper. Stripe has one light blue eye, and one gold eye, which has a little white spot, a little off center of the iris. Stripe is soaking up pets and cuddles. He is a counter surfer though even with three legs we are working on that. He is learning to sit. he is heartworm positive and will be starting his treatment soon. Also, he needs to be neutered. He is always happy when I greet him in the morning or I come home from work. He gets along with my resident dog wonderfully in fact they don't really bother each other. From the Vet: Hi! My name is Stripe, you may be wondering about my medical history given my good looks, so my friends and TBB Vet Center wanted to help me share a bit more about me. I was brought to TBB desperately needing ongoing vet care for several concerns. The most obvious was my severe demodex mange, this is a treatable condition caused by a parasitic mite, but it is not contagious to dogs or humans and can be controlled with monthly flea and tick prevention. Once this is under control my skin will start to clear up! The second most obvious need was my very broken and infected compound fracture on my front right leg. The specialty surgery team came right away and helped me get rid of that mess. I'm sure I will live long and happy on my 3 remaining legs! Beyond that I will still need to go through heartworm treatment (series of 3 injections) and a dental procedure with likely extractions needed. My adopters can rest assured that TBB will cover both of these medical needs in my adoption contract + 1 round of medications associated with each visit. We can't wait to see what I look like when I'm all healed up and settled in my forever home. Could you be that home? Hope to meet you soon!!

Story
Dunne, which is pronounced “Dune,” is a very special boy who made the journey all the way from Afghanistan to come live in Minnesota. He is a sweet, gentle, 50 pound golden mix born between 7/2021 & 1/2022. He is starting to adjust to his new surroundings and has learned so much in the last few weeks. Poor boy has not had much for socialization, we are working with him but needs more time to learn to "be a dog" so he NEEDS another dog to show him how to dog! Dunne loves to be around his people so much that being kenneled is hard for him. He is not a fan of the kennel, he gets calming treats when we have to leave or when he has to be in his kennel. He loves car rides and loves to be brushed and pet. He nudges your hand for neck scratches. He also loves getting a bath. He is very concerned about pleasing others and is easily trained.  He has a very mild, sweet disposition with a low energy level. He would probably love a doggie companion to help show him how cool it is to be a dog in the USA. He will be a dedicated companion with lots of love to give. Dunne is a blank canvas and would love to have a person that will love him and teach him how to be the dog he knows he wants to be.   We’ve got some exciting news about this pup’s age! Thanks to DNA testing from Embark, we’ve got a fresh take on how old they really are. A big shoutout to Embark for generously donating these tests for us to explore! You might spot a difference between Embark's findings and our original guess—after all, no test or person is 100% accurate. It’s all part of the adventure!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi! I’m Gypsy! I am a golden retriever mix who’s at that golden age stage where I’m not as active as a puppy but not as slow as a senior. I am about 3yrs old (10/2021). Unfortunately, through no fault of my own, I was bounced around a bit between different owners, so I haven’t had a stable home yet. But that’s where YOU come in! I’m hoping my sweet golden eyes with entice you to welcome me into your home forever. With my past of being bounced around, I do have some anxiety (more so in a kennel for long periods) but I do take a daily anxiety medication that helps. Just put it in a pill pocket and I’ll gobble it right up with my morning meal. This HAS to be given EVERY morning. It is NOT a medication that can be given every so often or to be stopped suddenly on. My foster mom highly, highly recommends that I stay on it life long due to the unstable rough beginning I have had. I love playing with toys, kids, and other dogs. I have been known to be more of a dominant female, but only to some female dogs. I like to sniff cats at first, but then will completely ignore them. I ride great in a car – I love looking out the windows! I am crate trained (although may whine a little at the start knowing you’re going) & house trained. I am a great mix of calm and activity, as you see I will cuddle with you on the couch during the movie times but also would love to have zoomies in a yard or go for a run. Won’t you please be my forever?  I would be yours forever as long as I'm Your brown-eyed girl Do you remember when we used to sing? Story
This is Hazey, a 5-year-old female golden retriever weighing about 60 pounds. Until she was rescued by NDLB, her entire life was spent being bred. As a result, Hazey is very scared of people; she tries her absolute hardest to be invisible. Hazey chooses to spend most of the day in her safe spots, but has started to explore the house and will sometimes hang out in the living room with us. She is not an active dog - she’d much rather snooze the day away. Getting her out of the kennel to go potty may take some maneuvering, especially at first. In our home, she’s now at the point where she will walk herself in and outside for potty breaks. She’s had very few accidents which mostly occur when she’s scared. Hazey is terrified of the leash and is easily startled, which makes her a flight risk. As such, a fully fenced and secured yard is required for her safety. Hazey lives with a 70lb dog and has been exposed to other dogs of varying sizes. She isn’t too interested in them at the moment, although she does look to the other dogs for guidance and they do provide comfort for her. For this reason, Hazey would do best in a home with a patient and well-adjusted dog that can show her the ropes. She hasn’t been exposed to cats but would likely do just fine with them. Hazey also hasn’t been around kids and would do best in a home without children. She prefers quiet and calm. This sweet, beautiful girl needs time to decompress and adjust to her new life after years of neglect. If you are someone with a big heart and lots of patience, please apply!  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, dental, Prepaid microchip, Deworming, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
