Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  I’m on the hunt for a very special loving home who is willing to work diligently with my confidence.  I’m extremely shy and am much braver on the outside than I am on the inside.  I love my kennel as I use it as my safe space.  When I feel nervous or unsure, I retreat there and hide. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi I'm  Candycorn !  I'm a beautiful lady who came into rescue with some secret cargo in my tummy.  I was a good mama and raised my babies and sent them all on to new homes.  Now it's my turn!  With new people and in new places I'll admit I get nervous and I either find a safe corner to hide in or I'll possibly bark.  At home with my foster mama where I'm familiar with things I'm a completely different dog.  I have the bestest happy smile, my tail doesn't stop wagging and I get the cutest dance and zoomies.  I gently jump against my fosters mamas leg so she can give me hugs and kisses.  Sometimes I kiss back!  When she stops I gently put my paw on her arm so she knows I want more.  I also love when she gives me chin and cheek scratches and I should probably mention tummy rubs are great too.     I get along great with all dogs and like to chase and wrestle when they're my friends.  I would do best having a doggie sibling in my new home so they can help me learn the routine in my new home and help me be more confident.     At home I am learning to walk on leash.  It's going great since I trust my foster mom.  It's fun jumping around in the grass and feeling the sun shine down on my face and the wind in my fur.  I haven't pottied on leash yet for her, but I do know that I should do all my business a fenced area so I do request one in my home.   I am kennel trained and I never potty in it.  I'm too smart for that!  I'm usually quiet in it too.  I know it's a safe spot when I need it too, though I prefer to be out hanging around my mom's feet instead.  When she's working I'm usually laying under her desk close to her in case she needs me.  You get treats there and pets haha!   I really like toys!  The soft ones are my favorite to chew on. I never had toys before rescue. I don't always like to share them, but I've learned mom will trade me for them and she'll gently play tug of war with me.     I haven't met any kids yet, but I think I'd be ok with older respectful kids who would be kind and gentle with me.  Fast movement and loud noises are overwhelming and I don't want to get scared and have to run and hide.  A quiet home where I can be a spoiled princess would be awesome.     Come and meet me and I promise you'll find that with a little time to learn that I'm safe and can trust you with my heart that you'll find a loving and loyal family member in me that will love you unconditionally! I may take a little time to warm up, but once I do, I’m all tail wags and kisses! I’m a very sweet girl with a lot of love to give. My kennel is my safe space, and I sleep there soundly all night long. Food and treats? Oh, you bet I love them! They’re definitely some of my favorite things in the world. Now, I do have a few fears—loud noises and thunderstorms can make me a little anxious. But with a loving family by my side, I know I’ll feel safe and secure. I’m great with children under 12 years old, and I’m learning all about potty training on a schedule. I’m also crate trained and get along well with dogs of all sizes. But here’s the thing—I really need a fenced yard in my new home. Leashes and new things can be a bit scary for me, so having that secure space to explore would mean the world to me. Once I warm up to you, I’m a super sweet and bouncy girl who loves nothing more than asking for pets and belly rubs. Just be careful around my left side—I may startle easily there, especially since I only have one eye. I’m adjusting well to home life and am eager to continue learning and exploring. With a patient and loving family, I know I’ll blossom into the wonderful dog I know I can be! *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. I have had Izzy her whole life. She’s a great pup we just don’t have the space anymore with a growing family and she doesn’t get the attention she needs.

Meet Gypsy! She is a golden retriever mix born around 10/2021. She is a sweet girl who loves attention. Need a jogging partner? She's your gal! She loves to run around and have fun. Buddy is a wonderful Happy Go Lucky Giant Puppy! He loves all people and other dogs and craves love and attention. Buddy was surrendered to a shelter when his owner fell sick. We believe the previous owner did not have much time to work with Buddy. While Buddy has a great disposition he needs some guidance , structure and manners! Buddy is a playful energetic pup who is looking for a family that will match his energy. He loves walks, runs and playing with other dogs. He will need a family willing to work with him and be consistent helping to teach him some manners. He has only been in rescue a week but is learning quickly how to behave and we are confident with more time and commitment he will only continue to learn to grow. While Buddy loves people and other dogs, his one fault being a little too much. Buddy loves to jump and hump as an outlet for his excitement. He can also get so excited he becomes a bit mouthy so for this reason would do best with families with either no children or older children. These two behaviors have improved so much in just one week, he is a very smart dog. A playmate that matches his playstyle and loves to play would be wonderful for Buddy as he is a great playmate, both respectful and submissive. He’s a mix breed and about 2 years old. We’ve had him for a little over a year.  He has lived with 5 other dogs and loves them dearly.  Ciao needs a home with less stimulation. He  was just at a board and train program and did wonderfully. He’s working on leash training, the command come and calming down when guests come over. He gets SO excited when anyone comes over that he gets a bit mouthy at the person entering the home. It’s hard to train him not to do this when all 5 of the other dogs rush the door at the same time too! It’s totally trainable just hard given our set up. He loves the dog park and other dogs. He gets so excited to meet them and sometimes plays a little rough but again it’s trainable and we’re working on it. I spoke to our trainer and he said that whoever adopts Ciao will be able to come to his facility or he can come to you and teach you everything Ciao knows as far as training goes. He has a cushy life at our home. He gets an hour walk everyday, sleeps with us, roams free in the house all day, plays with his brothers and sisters and I work from home 80% of the time so someone is usually home and he’s not left alone for too long. He needs a walk at least everyday but would love acreage for him to run. He would also like another friend to play with. He’s used to playing with a pack of 5.  He just needs less stimulation and someone to work with him on solidifying his training techniques. It’s not fair of us to not give him the tools to succeed and grow into a gentleman. If you think you’re the right fit for Ciao let us know and we can set up a meet and greet. Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato.
