My name is Lewis but I am often called Lou If you are looking for a friend to watch whatever shows you want on tv I am your guy! If you are looking for someone that loves to chill on the couch with then I am your guy! If you are looking for someone to take walks with or even go for a jog with them I am also your guy as I love to go on walks! I love my humans and get attached to them, so it would be best if I was your one and only fur baby! I do like kids but have never been around real little kids so you may have to watch that I don’t knock them over as I would feel bad. I would love to be with someone who isn’t gone all the time as I will miss them so much. I roam free when my humans are gone and do fine with that, although I do have a habit of counter surfing so its best if you do not leave any food on the counter for me to snack on. I am told that I am the sweetest boy and would love to find my forever home so you can see that too. Lou Adoption Fee: $495

Story
Hi! I’m Dunne, aka Dune-buggy or Duners. Just thought I would stop in with a little update on me. If you’ve read my profile before you may know that I’m originally from Afghanistan and spent my first few years there. Because of my time there, we don’t know much about my previous life except that I was a street dog and didn’t live in a house. Now for the good update part. I’m really liking and getting the hang of this house living thing. The people and other dog I live with have been teaching me a lot of stuff and because of that I feel safer and more comfortable and confident so I do not need to always follow my temporary mom around everywhere she goes in the house. She keeps telling me that I am almost there to being a perfect gentleman. I now sit and wait for my food until I am told I can have it. Same with treats, I don’t try to grab it out of their hand. I do at times have a little too much energy and get a little too excited so I jump around or run up and down the stairs. So little kids or adults that aren’t steady on their feet might not be a good thing. I’m working on it, but sometimes I’m just too excited!!! I have learned to walk nicely on a leash. I stick pretty close to either person walking with me and do well when the other dog here is walking with too, but prefer to be with my foster mom if it’s a group walk. I get scared though of other dogs out or on leashes and tend to get a little reactive. We are working on it, but it’s hard to get over that fear. The people here have learned that I am not a fan of my kennel. I won’t fight it when they leave since the other dog here is already in his, but I get very scared to be in there. At night I don’t have to go in there at all now. This makes me so happy and grateful that I curl up and don’t move all night until it’s time to get up in the morning. Sudden movements too close to me or someone reaching out makes me nervous and cower. I am a lot better than I used to be, but it’s still a work in progress. I’m hoping to find a home that can continue to be more relaxed and patient with me as I continue on this learning journey. I like to lay around and relax most of the time and content with watching the world go by in the yard or deck as mom is tending to her gardens. I am a fast runner and need to get that energy out sometimes, so a fenced yard where I can run or someone that will take me on adventures to get that energy out would be ideal. I love to curl up on the couch with either foster parent and just be with them. Are you ready to be my cuddle partner?       Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
This beautiful girl is Cheney and she’s estimated to be a 1-year-old Golden mix. She weighs about 45 pounds. Cheney would make a perfect addition to any household. She matches her energy level to her people - she enjoys playing and napping in equal parts. Cheney plays independently with toys or with other dogs in the household. Our resident dog is a bit grumpy, and Cheney has done a good job of respecting his boundaries and enticing him to play with her on occasion. Cheney has done great with children in previous homes and would love a kiddo to call her friend. She’s potty trained, walks well on a leash, and has learned sit and shake. Kennel training is variable. Sometimes, Cheney settles right in with no issues; other times, she whines for a few minutes and then does ok; and occasionally she gets anxious and chews on the bedding in her kennel. Continued kennel training is highly recommended, and with treats in hand, you should be able to train Cheney with no issues. She’s a very smart and motivated pup! Cheney isn’t too vocal (although she may bark more with an active playmate), rides perfectly in the car, and tolerates baths. As you can see from her photos, Cheney is a pirate! She had an eye removed in January 2026 due to a congenital deformity. Removing the eye allows her to live a pain-free and comfortable life, and no further issues with her eyes are expected. She is adjusting to life as a pirate beautifully and doesn’t seem bothered in the least. It’s very easy to fall in love with Cheney and we know she’ll be the best dog you could ask for.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Honeysuckle found herself unwanted and in a high kill shelter in West Texas.  She is good with other dogs, and people, is also good with cats. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. Hi, my name is Honeysuckle but my foster just calls me Honey and says I am as sweet as honey. I love other dogs, I actually think all dogs are my friends, so you may need to watch me around those that aren't interested in being friends. I have lived with cats and I did well with them, I am just not sure why they didn't want to play with me? I am newer to MN but I enjoy frolicking in the snow. The ice I didn't enjoy as I looked like Bambi when he stepped onto the pond; yup, my legs went everywhere but underneath me and I didn't understand what was happening. I don't mind the cold, even though I am a Texas girl, I just pretend it's warm out.  I love the outdoors, especially since it has warmed up some. I will need a fenced yard as I enjoy running, I am very fast and I have a lot of energy and enjoy sunbathing outdoors. I am what they call too soft for ecollars/invisible fence so I do require a physical fence, even better if there are other dogs on the opposite side for me to play with or watch. I will not be happy on leash for all of my outings or what some call a long line.  I love children and take treats very gently so I don't scare them when I am outside of the home. I do however get excited when new kids come into the home, causing me to become jumpy and mouthy initally. My foster borrows some neighbor kids to help me work on this, but I still need some more work to help me not play like an oversized puppy with them. I don't understand why I can't wrestle with them, I watch them do it in their yard playing something they call football? I can occassionally be mouthy with aduls too, but I am still very gentle when I do it and it's usually because I want your attention to pet me. I LOVE belly rubs.  I am unsure when new people come into the home and and will bark at them.  If they give me some treats, a few minutes to observe them and the other dog(s) are ok with them, I will become friends with them too.  I just want to protect my home, friends and humans.  With some more practice I am sure I will get better with this too.  I am a professional chewer, so beware of stuffies as I may swallow small chunks that I chew off, but I also like to cuddle with them, so my foster only allows with supervision. I enjoy pigs ears, collegen chews, yak chews, cheek rolls and dogwood type chews to keep me occupied. I will also help you mulch any sticks in your yard.  My bathroom supervisory skills are top notch.  I will make sure you are fully protected from any monsters that may lurk in there while you use it and will lay down outside the door if I cannot get in to keep a watchful eye.  I am quiet when in my kennel and in the home.  I get vocally excited when playing with other dogs, my foster says I purr when I play. I do bark when outside at new things, but once I know things are safe and secure, I am good to go and mind my own business. I heard them say that I redirect well.  I sleep on a dog bed in my foster's room all night long and supervise from a dog bed or lay at her feet when she works from home. I enjoy a good snuggle when humans are on the couch, and I like to sneak on the bed for a snuggle when it's allowed. I know I would LOVE to sleep in a bed with my humans. When I am ready to get up for the day, I start with some small groans to gently wake you up should you sleep in longer than I feel you should.  I am fully potty trained.  I go hang out by the door and hope you will see me to let me outside but if I really need to go I will tap on the window. I also know how to use a doggy door if you have one, they sure are handy.  I am crate trained, I go right in when told, but don't forget to pay me or I may not go in as willingly the next time. I am ok chewing my high value treats in there or eating my dinner if necessary due to other animals in the home. But don't worry,  I don't resource guard anything when outside of the kennel either. My foster gives these in the kennel just to make sure I can handle any senario I may encounter and don't become too spoiled only being given outside of the crate.   I have learned that car rides are fun and I hop right up into the back seat floor of the van onto the dog bed and stay there quietly.  I have also learned that leashes aren't a bad thing; I am told I walk well on leash and even in a heel position. They both usually mean something fun is going to happen or at minimum I will get some treats. I can be cautious in new situations, but if you're confident, I will be too. Just give me a minute to process what is going on. I may jump at a new sound but will also check it out if I am able.  I have been through a basic obedience class and some agility classes, I am getting very brave at trying new things. I have a good start for my new home to set us both up for success. Please keep up on my training as I have learned so many new things with the classes to help me overcome my fears and timidness. It will also help me bond with you and keep me up on socializing. I know sit, down, off, stay, leave it, bring, up and drop it. I don't promise that I won't make you  start over with some of these skills, but I do have them with my current foster and some are scarey for me to try in new places or lots of distractions yet, but I will get there.  I am not picky about my treats or food.  Please use caution when giving beef though, I may be sensitive to it, we aren't sure yet but the humans are watching me and slowly trying it to see how I tolerate it, but if I get a lot I seem to not feel as well. I do like cocont oil, peanut butter, green beans, hot dogs, cheese and pumpkin too. I enjoy being brushed, I don't mind my feet or nails being trimmed but I am NOT a fan of bathtime for me. I can't be that perfect, right? I do require a home with another playful confident dog to help with all the new things, who is super playful and will share their toys, bones, etc with me. I love playing tug and wrestling with other dogs and chase them when they chase the ball/toy so I can get it from them so they chase me.  You will need patience as I adjust. I may just hang out to observe everything for a while, but keep me out where I can see everything or I will just shut down and hide; this is my default mode when I am unsure, overwhelmed and when I am not feeling well.  Do I sound like a perfect fit for you? If so, please apply for consideration on the rescue's website https://mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org/      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 17, 2026, 9:05 am
