Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Honeysuckle found herself unwanted and in a high kill shelter in West Texas.  She is good with other dogs, and people. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. Hi, my name is Honeysuckle but my foster just calls me Honey, because I am so sweet. I am a sensitive gal and very cautious with new people and situations.  I am not a typical 'golden', so please don't think that is what you will be getting with me. I am cautious of new people and take some time to get comfortable with them, yes I am a believer in stranger danger.    I love other dogs; I actually think most dogs are my friends, so you may need to help me around those that aren't interested in being friends. I however do not like dogs who wear muzzles or bark at me, I will bark right back at them and stand my ground if I feel it's necessary. I do require a home with another playful, confident dog to help with all the new things and who will share their toys, bones, etc with me. I love wrestling with other dogs. I also enjoy chasing them, especially when they chase a ball or have a toy so I can get it from them so they chase me.  I am not from MN but I enjoyed frolicking & rutting around in the snow. The ice I didn't enjoy, my legs went everywhere but underneath me. I didn't mind the cold, even though I am a Texas girl. Rain, that doesn't bother me. Thunder, well that is some scarey stuff.  I love the outdoors, especially since it has warmed up. I will need a fenced yard as I enjoy running, I am very fast and I have a good amount of energy; I also enjoy sunbathing outdoors, taking in the fresh air & I am proudly a part of the neighborhood watch committee. I am NOT a candidate for ecollars/invisible fence/long line/etc so I do require a physical fence. Dog parks are not appropriate while I adjust.  I like children and take treats very gently when I am outside of the home.  I can however get super excited & over stimulated when kids come into the home, but I do settle down eventually. My foster borrows the neighbor kids to help me work on this, but I still need some more work to help me not play like an oversized puppy with them.  I don't understand why I can't wrestle with them, I watch them do it in their yard playing something they call, football? I have been around an infant and they are great, I enjoy cleaning their face and hands. I can carry on a conversation with them when they squeel and giggle, I'm not sure what they are saying, but my foster says it's fun to watch, but still keep a close eye on me as I am still young like them and I don't want to make a mistake. When they crawl I am a bit unsure of the movement. I can be mouthy, especially when I am excited, but sometimes when I want your attention I will use that to gain it. I do give occasional love bites, I just get so excited. I don't mean to hurt anyone, I just have some herding instincts in me that sometimes I am so excited i just can't hold them back. Did I mention that I love belly rubs?  I can be unsure when new people come into the home and and will bark or may even growl at them.  If they give me some treats, a few minutes to observe them and the other dog(s) are ok with them, I will become friends with them too eventually. I will probably still grumble or bark while they visit yet while learning about them. I do want to protect my home and humans.  I have been working so hard and the people that I now know that visit often but don't live here, I am great at welcoming them properly. They have had a few family gatherings and I made it through just fine with plenty of space given to observe and let me choose my interactions.   I am a professional chewer. Beware of stuffies as I swallow small chunks that I chew off & the squeakers are the best part;  so my foster only allows with supervision. I enjoy pigs ears, collagen chews, yak chews, cheek rolls, knee caps, retriever rolls and dogwood type chews to keep me occupied. I will also help you mulch any sticks in your yard.  I sleep on a dog bed in my foster's room all night long and supervise from a dog bed or lay at her feet when she works from home. I enjoy a good snuggle when humans are on the couch, and I like to sneak on the bed for a snuggle when it's allowed or will hop up when they get up hoping for a snuggle. I know I would LOVE to sleep in a bed with my humans. I am fully potty trained.  I go hang out by the door and hope you will see me to let me outside but if I really need to go I will tap on the window. I also know how to use a doggy door if you have one, they sure are handy as I like to go in and out fequently, especially when the weather is nice.    I am usually fairly quiet when in my kennel.  I can get vocally excited when playing with other dogs, my foster says I purr when I play. I do bark when outside at new things and some of the neighbors or their dogs, but once I know things are safe and secure, I am good to go and mind my own business. I heard them say that I usually redirect well.  I am crate trained, I go right in when told, but don't forget to pay me for doing a good job. This is also my safe space.  I am ok chewing my high value treats in there or eating my dinner if necessary due to other animals in the home. But don't worry,  I don't resource guard anything when outside of the kennel either. My foster gives these things in the kennel just to make sure I can handle any senario I may encounter and don't become too spoiled only being given outside of the crate.   I have learned that car rides are fun and I hop right up into the back seat floor of the van onto the dog bed and stay there quietly for the trip.  I have also learned that leashes aren't a bad thing; I am told I walk well on leash. They both usually mean something fun is going to happen or at minimum I will get some treats. I am still working on walks (especially in unfamilar areas), the world is a scarey place afterall.  I am cautious in new situations, but if you're confident, I will be too. Just give me some time to process what is going on. I may jump at a new sound but will also check it out if I am able.  I have been through a basic obedience class and some agility classes, I am getting very brave at trying new things. I have a good start for my new home to set us both up for success.  I have been enjoying agility classes more and more each time I go. Please keep up on my training outside the home with classes as I have learned so many new things with the classes to help me overcome my fears and timidness. Working on this only at home just isn't enough for me. I need the socialization & skills. My foster or the rescue can suggest some places to bring me to for keeping up with what I have made progress on. It will also help me bond with you and keep me up on proper socializing. I can't promise that I won't make you start over with some of my skills, but I do have them with my current foster and some things are scarey for me to try in new places or with lots of distractions yet, but I will get there.  I am not picky about my treats or food.  I do like coconut oil, peanut butter, green beans, hot dogs, cheese, bannanas, carrots, ice cubes, cucumbers, blueberries, pineapple, peppers of all colors and pumpkin so far. I do not like red delicious apples; what a silly name for something that does not match what it's called.  I enjoy being brushed. I don't mind my feet or backside being cleaned up or even my nails being trimmed but I am not a huge fan of bathtime, but I tolerate it now.  You will need patience as I adjust. I may just hang out to observe everything for a while, but let me out where I can see/hear everything safely. I do want to be part of the happenings, but I do need a space to feel secure when things are just too much. I tend to shutdown when I am scared, unsure or voices are raised.  My foster tells me I am a silly girl and near perfect. Do I sound like a perfect fit for you? If so, please apply for consideration on the rescue's website https://mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org/      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 9, 2026, 6:14 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sheva found herself dumped, unwanted and in a high kill shelter in West Texas. She is good with other dogs, and people, but cats are unknown and due to her intersest in critters outside likely not good. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful.  Sheva is a playful, curious girl with a big love for toys and a growing sense of adventure. As she settles into her home, she's becoming braver and more confident each day, happily exploring her surroundings and showing off her sweet, fun personality. If you are looking for a dog who is equal parts fun-loving companion and dedicated couch potato, Sheva is your girl! This gorgeous girl is ready to find her ultimate forever kingdom. Sheva is a beautiful soul who forms incredibly deep, loyal bonds with her trusted people. She is an absolute cuddle bug who loves to show affection. When she isn't lounging around the house, she transforms into a total goofball—it is 'freaking adorable' to watch her carry her favorite plush toys around and initiate gentle wrestle sessions with the resident dog. Sheva's Highlights: Perfect Mix: She has the calm, majestic, watchful nature of a Great Pyrenees paired with the soft, toy-loving playfulness of a Golden Retriever. Leash Manners: No pulling here! Sheva has excellent leash manners and loves going on peaceful neighborhood walks. Great dog 'sister': Sheva is a 'dog's dog' who thrives with canine company. She plays beautifully and safely with the foster's gentler, medium-sized dog and loves having a buddy to lounge with in the yard. She had done great with all the dogs she has met at events too. House Manners: Sheva is past the acute puppy stage so is very easy in the house. She has had no accidents.  She was crated initially but 'graduated' to being baby-gated in a spare bedroom when no one was present for short periods of time. The retriever in her likes to 'collect' things like shoes and socks, which she puts in an area she designated. Therefore, she is limited to the spare bedroom when the foster is gone to prevent her from looking for collectibles.Sheva's Ideal Forever Home Because Sheva is a true Livestock Guardian Breed mix, she possesses a natural instinct to watch over her 'pack'. To set her up for a lifetime of success, her ideal home looks like this: Household Structure: Sheva would absolutely flourish as the solo companion to a single owner or in a multi-adult household with experience. In a single-person home her loyalty becomes a beautiful gift. In an experienced multi-adult household she will fit in seamlessly as the 'pack protector'. With her size she may knock over small children, but has been good with the kids she has met.  Because she is young and smart, she needs physical and mental stimulation. The ideal home will offer lots of exercise/mental stimulation. She has had mainly short durations when she is left alone and room to play. The Yard: A secure yard with a physical fence is ideal. Sheva loves to be outside, patrolling her perimeter for squirrels, playing with her toys and lounging in the sun. Dog Friendly: She would love a home with a laid-back, confident, but non-dominant dog who matches her love for backyard wrestling and sunshine lounging. Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 9, 2026, 6:14 pm

Story
Hi! I’m Dunne, aka Dune-buggy or Duners. Just thought I would stop in with a little update on me. If you’ve read my profile before you may know that I’m originally from Afghanistan and spent my first few years there. Because of my time there, we don’t know much about my previous life except that I was a street dog and didn’t live in a house. Now for the good update part. I’m really liking and getting the hang of this house living thing. The people and other dog I live with have been teaching me a lot of stuff and because of that I feel safer and more comfortable and confident so I do not need to always follow my temporary mom around everywhere she goes in the house. She keeps telling me that I am almost there to being a perfect gentleman. I now sit and wait for my food until I am told I can have it. Same with treats, I don’t try to grab it out of their hand. I do at times have a little too much energy and get a little too excited so I jump around or run up and down the stairs. So little kids or adults that aren’t steady on their feet might not be a good thing. I’m working on it, but sometimes I’m just too excited!!! I have learned to walk nicely on a leash. I stick pretty close to either person walking with me and do well when the other dog here is walking with too, but prefer to be with my foster mom if it’s a group walk. I get scared though of other dogs out or on leashes and tend to get a little reactive. We are working on it, but it’s hard to get over that fear. The people here have learned that I am not a fan of my kennel. I won’t fight it when they leave since the other dog here is already in his, but I get very scared to be in there. At night I don’t have to go in there at all now. This makes me so happy and grateful that I curl up and don’t move all night until it’s time to get up in the morning. Sudden movements too close to me or someone reaching out makes me nervous and cower. I am a lot better than I used to be, but it’s still a work in progress. I’m hoping to find a home that can continue to be more relaxed and patient with me as I continue on this learning journey. I like to lay around and relax most of the time and content with watching the world go by in the yard or deck as mom is tending to her gardens. I am a fast runner and need to get that energy out sometimes, so a fenced yard where I can run or someone that will take me on adventures to get that energy out would be ideal. I love to curl up on the couch with either foster parent and just be with them. Are you ready to be my cuddle partner?       Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. My name is Lewis but I am often called Lou If you are looking for a friend to watch whatever shows you want on tv I am your guy! If you are looking for someone that loves to chill on the couch with then I am your guy! If you are looking for someone to take walks with or even go for a jog with them I am also your guy as I love to go on walks! I love my humans and get attached to them, so it would be best if I was your one and only fur baby! I do like kids but have never been around real little kids so you may have to watch that I don’t knock them over as I would feel bad. I would love to be with someone who isn’t gone all the time as I will miss them so much. I roam free when my humans are gone and do fine with that, although I do have a habit of counter surfing so its best if you do not leave any food on the counter for me to snack on. I am told that I am the sweetest boy and would love to find my forever home so you can see that too. Lou Adoption Fee: $495
