Story
Meet Sunshine. I am Sunshine’s foster and have known her for just a few weeks. Just after Sunshine arrived at my house, she escaped and was on the run for 7 days, before being found and returned to me. We spent time getting her groomed after that adventure. Sunshine is a breeder release and was completely frightened of everything and everyone. She wouldn’t walk without having to be dragged or carried. She was also very thin. She is better now. While Sunshine is not yet totally comfortable around humans, she can be coaxed out of her safe zones to greet and be petted/rubbed. She will take treats from human hands. The biggest thing to date is she has been learning to be a dog with my labs and the other pups in the neighborhood. Sunshine is still skittish of loud noises, (slammed doors, vacuum cleaner…etc.), sudden movements and still cautious of new people, but getting better all the time. As Sunshine is startled, she will retreat to the comfort of her crate. We do close the crate at times during the day to allow her to find other comfortable spaces in the house. Sunshine is not completely potty-trained, but we are very close. She is learning the routine from my dogs. She goes out in the morning and afternoon. We are using puppy pads for direction and she has been using them instead of rugs or the floor. We have had several misses, but see timely progress. Sunshine is quiet, soft, gentle, and very submissive. Sunshine is not used to being on a leash, but getting better and more comfortable. she will pull until she’s ready to go back inside. When she goes back inside, she retreats to her safe zone – her crate. At night, we put Sunshine in her crate. Sunshine has Not been spayed. She will go in for vetting (alter) this week. I think she would do best with a home which has another dog, as she is totally trusting and very comfortable with my other dogs. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $450.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 16, 2024, 6:16 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    I’m on the hunt for a very special loving home who is willing to work diligently with my confidence.  I’m extremely shy and am much braver on the outside than I am on the inside.  I love my kennel as I use it as my safe space.  When I feel nervous or unsure, I retreat there and hide. I’m very, very sweet and still learning all about receiving love and affection and I do like it!  I do enjoy hanging out with people but I also have a mischievous side when I think you’re not looking.  Away from home is hard for me.  I am so nervous and freeze with anxiety.  I will bolt if I get the chance.  So I will need a fenced yard as even leashes are new.  I am 99% potty training when on a schedule and am clearly crate trained, since that’s where I feel the most safe.  But I do know some commands like “sit, outside, go potty.” If you say “in” by my kennel, that’s when I know you want me to get inside.  So I’m super smart!  I would love to have another confident dog in my forever home to help me learn how to be a dog and teach me all the things.  You’ll find me to be loving, gentle, shy, sweet and absolutely precious.  But if you are patient enough to help me over my anxieties, I promise to reward you with all the love and affection you expect from a dog . *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a    particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi I'm  Candycorn !  I'm a beautiful lady who came into rescue with some secret cargo in my tummy.  I was a good mama and raised my babies and sent them all on to new homes.  Now it's my turn!  With new people and in new places I'll admit I get nervous and I either find a safe corner to hide in or I'll possibly bark.  At home with my foster mama where I'm familiar with things I'm a completely different dog.  I have the bestest happy smile, my tail doesn't stop wagging and I get the cutest dance and zoomies.  I gently jump against my fosters mamas leg so she can give me hugs and kisses.  Sometimes I kiss back!  When she stops I gently put my paw on her arm so she knows I want more.  I also love when she gives me chin and cheek scratches and I should probably mention tummy rubs are great too.     I get along great with all dogs and like to chase and wrestle when they're my friends.  I would do best having a doggie sibling in my new home so they can help me learn the routine in my new home and help me be more confident.     At home I am learning to walk on leash.  It's going great since I trust my foster mom.  It's fun jumping around in the grass and feeling the sun shine down on my face and the wind in my fur.  I haven't pottied on leash yet for her, but I do know that I should do all my business a fenced area so I do request one in my home.   I am kennel trained and I never potty in it.  I'm too smart for that!  I'm usually quiet in it too.  I know it's a safe spot when I need it too, though I prefer to be out hanging around my mom's feet instead.  When she's working I'm usually laying under her desk close to her in case she needs me.  You get treats there and pets haha!   I really like toys!  The soft ones are my favorite to chew on. I never had toys before rescue. I don't always like to share them, but I've learned mom will trade me for them and she'll gently play tug of war with me.     I haven't met any kids yet, but I think I'd be ok with older respectful kids who would be kind and gentle with me.  Fast movement and loud noises are overwhelming and I don't want to get scared and have to run and hide.  A quiet home where I can be a spoiled princess would be awesome.     Come and meet me and I promise you'll find that with a little time to learn that I'm safe and can trust you with my heart that you'll find a loving and loyal family member in me that will love you unconditionally! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, I’m Esta! I may take a little time to warm up, but once I do, I’m all tail wags and kisses! I’m a very sweet girl with a lot of love to give. With lots of patience and love, I have gained so much confidence in my foster home and my people are very proud of me for learning to be the happy and bouncy puppy I was meant to be. My kennel is my safe space, and I sleep there soundly all night long. Food and treats? Oh, you bet I love them! They’re definitely some of my favorite things in the world. I also love playing with small crinkle toys and you have been warned - watch where you put your socks because I consider them toys! I’m great with children under 12 years old, and I’m learning all about potty training on a schedule. I will need more practice in my forever home – I’m a smart girl and will figure it out! I’m also crate trained and get along well with dogs of all sizes. But here’s the thing—I really need a fenced yard in my new home. Leashes and new things can be a bit scary for me, so having that secure space to explore would mean the world to me. We are working on leash walking and I am doing great and learning to love walking adventures with my people. Once I warm up to you, I’m a super sweet and bouncy girl who loves nothing more than asking for pets and belly rubs. Just be careful around my left side—I may startle easily there, especially since I only have one eye. I’m adjusting well to home life and am eager to continue learning and exploring. With a patient and loving family, I know I’ll blossom into the wonderful dog I know I can be! *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      HI, my name is Remy and I haven’t been with my foster home long, but they want you to know that my bravery skills are multiplying!  I am timid and anxious as most people are in new environments and situations.  But I’m learning a lot from the other dog in the house, that Bernadoodle who is a great example of what I need in a confident and social dog to show me how to trust and learn to dog.  At first I wouldn’t come out of the crate but now I’m able to come out all by myself of a larger Xpen’d area.  But sometimes, I do get afraid of a noise or quick movements and will splay flat on the floor.  I do let my foster family pick me up and set me on their lap for snuggles.  I do tinkle outside and I’m not a much of a barker so far.  Both of those are good skills, I’m told.  There are both older kids and cats here and I’m respectful of them, as they are to me.  I’m gentle and submissive but am continuing with gaining confidence.  I enjoy my snuggle puppy with a heartbeat (it’s a plush toy) but other toys I haven’t had the bravery to use them. I am very alarmed around little kids, so it would be best if my forever home didn't have quick moving kids with a lot of commotion.  I use a leash to go outside to potty in the fenced yard. The leash is helpful so my people can get me back in the house. So if you tell me to “go potty” I know what that means.  I would thrive with a confident and social dog in my forever home, but not a bossy one. I was in a different foster home with a bossy dog and I was very afraid of them.  When I first came to a foster home, I’d stay in my kennel for weeks and wouldn’t eat until people left or went to bed.  So I’ve made great strides and even have become brave enough to go for walks around the yard on a leash! Are you a home that can help me build my confidence and will be patient with my progress?  If so, I hope to hear from you!
