Meet Hudson, the lovebug you’ve been looking for. This champion sofa snuggler loves to burrow his nose into you and contentedly snooze the evening away. Indoors, he’s a well-mannered gentleman who will accompany you to the kitchen, not to beg but to patiently wait just in case some carrot, apple, or banana makes its way to him. He takes his job as neighborhood watch seriously and will let you know if someone is in the yard. This is simply part of his nature, not aggression. When visiting his dog pals at their houses, he’s respectful and chill. He’d likely do well with another dog but it isn’t necessary. Meal times are a great opportunity for him to work. He’s a fast eater so a snuffle mat and slow feeder bowl work great. Hudson loves to be outside and would benefit from a fenced yard to patrol. AAs will critters in the yard. Squirrels beware! Out for a walk, he’s happy to meet other dogs and their people. Walks are for sniffing and marking. He’s a goof when his person stops to chat. He might lay down and wait for you to finish your conversation. He also might pull on the leash to let you know “chop chop, let’s go!” Walking at the quietest time of day is best for this distractible boy. For his current neighborhood, that means first thing in the morning. With the following exceptions, Hudson can’t be bothered with toys. Exceptions are a good, strong, no destructible chew toy/bone when he’s antsy or visitors are over, and his treat ball or puzzle which he gets when left alone for the day. He’s a mellow dude who doesn’t mess around with household items so he has free access to most of the house when left alone. He does best with routine and familiarity. He’s great going to the vet for routine visits as well as nail trims & booty gland expressing. Dog washing happens at home in the walk-in shower – a familiar environment. He’s always happy to get in the car because it usually means the park or a friend’s house. Hudson is an absolute sweet pea with so much love to give. All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped. Hi, my name is Sheila. I am from Alabama. Sheila is a happy active puppy. When she first came to MN she was very shy, skittish, and scared. It took her some time to warm up to us, is still wary of quick movements, and is starting to approach us with more confidence. She has learned the joy of toys and playing with my dog, Jasper. Sheila does well with cats; she mostly ignores them but is curious and tries to sniff them when she can but respects their space. Sheila freezes on -leash. Up to now she's only had it attached to a collar; she may do better with a harness so we're going to try that this week. She's "mostly" house-trained, I mean she is a puppy so that is an on-going effort. A fenced yard may be helpful since her leash training has only just begun. Lastly, Sheila is teething, chew toys are everywhere!

Update 5/8/26 Eirwyn had a week full of exciting progress and growing confidence. He completed his first walk without his foster dog siblings, which was scary at first, but he slowly became more comfortable and successfully explored on his own. During the walk, he calmly handled meeting a kind neighbor, choosing to keep his distance but showing major improvement compared to a few months ago. He also experienced walking near heavy traffic and, after some initial fear, relaxed enough to sniff and explore his surroundings. He discovered birds for the first time—both robins and ducks—and was fascinated by them, quietly watching without barking or chasing. At home, Eirwyn made another huge step by laying on his foster mom’s lap while she used her computer, something that previously scared him enough to run away. Eirwyn is also becoming much more comfortable with his foster dad, despite originally seeming best suited for a female-only home. He has been cuddling next to him, resting his head on his lap, taking treats, and even accepting occasional pets. The nice weather meant lots of outdoor time, including walks, yard work, and an enthusiastic mud-playing session that ended with an easy bath. He also did wonderfully during a family barbecue, happily accepting treats from guests and enjoying time outside. Overall, Eirwyn’s resilience and steady progress have been incredible to watch. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eirwyn (air-wyn) is a 2-year-old Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix with a gentle heart and a resilient spirit. He is a sweet, affectionate dog who loves being outdoors, playing with his furry foster siblings, sneaking the occasional sock, and snuggling up for comfort. Like many Great Pyrenees mixes, he has a strong need for mental stimulation and thrives when kept busy, so experience with working breeds will be especially helpful for his future adopter. Because of his past, Eirwyn has some unique needs: *He is naturally timid and particularly fearful of men, so he’s seeking a female-only home where he can feel safe and secure. *He does best with a predictable routine and would be happiest in a calm environment without young children (older teens 15+ may be okay). *He also requires a confident, friendly resident dog to serve as his “mentor,” helping him continue to build confidence and navigate the world. *He would do best in a home with a physical fence, as he can be easily startled and is still developing reliable recall. *Due to his barking and anxiety, he is not suited for apartment living or homes with shared walls. One of Eirwyn’s more unusual challenges is his fear of screens—televisions, computers, and similar devices can be very frightening for him, though he is slowly learning to tolerate them when turned off. He’ll need a patient adopter committed to helping him work through this fear over time. Eirwyn is looking for a special person who understands that progress takes time. This young girl adores people, makes friends everywhere she goes, and approaches life with an enthusiastic tail wag and a toy in her mouth. Whether she’s heading to the dog park, hopping in the car for an adventure, or tossing around her favorite squeaky toy, Sadie is simply thrilled to be part of the fun. Her ideal home would have lots of space, she can kind of be a bull in a china shop!  She is not well suited for an apartment, condo or townhome.  Sadie came to rescue after her previous family made the difficult decision to surrender her. They loved her deeply, but without consistent training and structure, her puppy habits — especially jumping, mouthing, and slipping away when given the chance — became more than they could safely manage. Sadie is still young, smart, and very trainable, and the good news is she’s incredibly food motivated and eager to engage with people, which will make continued training much easier. She is potty trained and does wonderfully with kids, other dogs, cats, and even chickens. She absolutely loves meeting new people and would happily greet every stranger like an old friend if given the chance. Sadie has a moderate energy level and will thrive in a home that gives her regular exercise, continued guidance, and plenty of mental stimulation. She especially loves cooler weather and being outdoors, thanks to her big fluffy golden coat. Sadie already knows commands like sit, stay, and “go potty,” and she rides beautifully in the car. She’s affectionate, playful, intelligent, and wonderfully goofy — the kind of dog who keeps you laughing while also wanting to curl up nearby at the end of the day. Because Sadie has a history of trying to wander, she will need a family committed to supervision, consistency, and safe management while she continues working on her manners and recall skills. In return, she’ll reward them with endless love, loyalty, and golden retriever charm. Sadie is truly a wonderful dog with so much potential, and with a little continued training and structure, she’s going to make an incredible companion for a very lucky family.
