You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $300 plus tax Friendly! Not treat motivated  No accidents No separation anxiety  Dwight would do best in an active home (His foster believes a home without younger children would be ideal) Loves to be outside  Goes on errands with his Foster like Home Depot runs and Petco visits One time Dwight saw a mannequin and nuzzled it's hand so it would 'pet' him - Cute!! Dwight would like everyone who sees him to say hi  Dwight is a handsome Great Pyrenees and Border Collie mix! He loves dog parks and playing outside, rolling in the grass. He will do well in a fenced property or farm. He is leash trained, muzzle trained, and crate trained, however, the door often remains open. He’s a quick learner. He’s a little over 2 years old and shy of 100 pounds. He knows no, wait, down, paw, gentle, bed, belly, “get it” to eat, and sit with many more things he’s still perfecting. He loves the butt scratches but when he is sleeping her prefers to be left alone. He can sometimes be a little protective of his chew bones or food. He doesn’t play fetch but he loves chasing a laser like a cat. He prefers humans to chase him as a way of playing. He came from a home with two adults and should not go to a home with children. He’s used to a more quiet space and doesn’t do very well with loud noises. He did a great job outside watching his previous owner in his work shop. He does a great job being an outside guard dog, that’s definitely the Great Pyrenees in him. He loves to work and play. He has a ton of energy.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
This is Kit, she’s a Doberman/Great Pyrenees mix born approximately 9/29/22.  Kit has fully acclimated to our home, as a foster, after 13 months here. She has done well at adoption events, curiously sniffing people & enjoying pets. She will always be timid with new people, but is definitely settling in more quickly now that she is gaining confidence. She will cautiously sniff new people & approach, but it will take her a bit to truly invite attention.  She also is responding to the “come” command to get her leash or harness on, where a few months ago, she would run away from the leash the minute it came out.  We moved her kennel, so had a bit of challenge re-orienting her to it, but she still goes in easily & is quiet when there.  If Kit had her way, she would be outside all the time, she LOVES running outside & would do amazing with a dog or two to run around with and a fenced in yard-preferably a privacy fence. She is very dog friendly, but does give cues when she is tired or has a favorite toy/bone. She has started to be a bit dominant when first meeting new dogs, so slow introductions on a leash is best! She would do best with a large fenced in yard, as she wears herself out pretty quickly doing laps. She does have a high prey drive so no cats, birds, rabbits or other small pets. We have chickens and she's VERY interested in them. She comes when called "inside" & knows the "kennel" command. She eats in her kennel & has never made a peep when in it during my work hours. She does bark at most of the passerby's outside on the busy sidewalk, as we live just down from a school, so there is lots of foot traffic. She REALLY likes sleeping in bed with us, but that is a rare occasion. She is getting more snuggly on the couch too & really loves attention, when she is ready for it.  She has recently started laying as close to people as possible on the couch or bed & will roll over for belly rubs.  Due to her cautious nature, older, respectful kids would be best. She will take time and patience to adjust in a new environment but when she does the little things will reward you tenfold. She's been in rescue long enough and would love a home of her own.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 17, 2024, 10:48 pm

Apply on our website ( https://www.healingheartsrescue.org/adopt )  to  set up a private meeting or check below for my adoption event schedule. Come meet me at our adoption event at Trove Brewing, Burnsville on 9/7 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm!   Age: Approximately 4 years old Weight: 80 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown  Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained:Yes  Crate trained: Yes What you see is what you get with this gentle giant: friendly, eager to please, good natured, affectionate, and loyal. Triscuit seems to just be happy all the time and loves to be near or touching her people with at least one paw. Triscuit is a good on a leash and is friendly with all dogs as well as all ages of people. She is fully potty and crate trained. She can be left loose in the house also, although, due to her size, counter surfing is a bit too fun and easy! Triscuit knows some basic commands. She currently does not look like the Great Pyrenees mix she is; her fur was so matted coming in to rescue that she needed to be shaved. However, that beautiful white fluff should grow back eventually! Triscuit will do best with an active family who enjoys walking, playing, and spending time with her. She is a fantastic dog and will easily join her new family. Will you be Triscuit’s forever family?
