Story
Hi everyone, my name is Lucas, but sometimes my friends call me Leo. I am a great Pyrenees mix born approx 6/6/24.  I was picked up as a stray in Arkansas, and I am about 51 pounds and done growing. In a world of too-big or too-small dogs, I am the perfect size for fun! Big enough to hike, play fetch, and run, small enough to cuddle on your lap on the couch. They think I am somewhere between 11-18 months old, and while I still have some puppy-like energy to burn off, I also know how to calm down and chill.    I love other dogs- on walks, I whine to say hi and ask to play- but most of all I LOVE people. Some might say I love exuberantly, especially on first meeting, where I greet everyone with wagging tail and jumps of excitement- although I have been told I need to work on the jumping thing. After I settle into a routine, I don't jump as much unless we introduce new friends to the mix!   When I want to go outside, I sit like a gentleman at the door. I am fantastic on a leash. I generally like to lead, but I try not to pull, and I will try to match your pace, whether that is slow to be careful of ice or speed walking. I might also make a good running partner, although my current people aren't really runners. I also like to get my business done all in one shot, and don't feel the need to mark every tree and bush. Even though I hale from Arkansas, I sure to love the snow and cold weather.   I love to play, fetch balls, tug on ropes, and chew on my Nylabone. I especially love stuffies- sometimes a little too much, to the point that I start unstuffing them. On occasion, I find non-toy objects in my house and proudly bring them to you- a plastic box, a dryer ball, even a whole roll of toilet paper.   I tend to be a pretty quiet dude. I bark to let you know someone is at the door, and if I see something fun out the window, I may whine a bit. If I need to stay in my crate but I can still hear you around the house, I will whine, cry, and lament the fact that I can't be with you. However, if you leave the house, I tend to be pretty quiet in the crate. I must admit that I can get a little loud when I am playing with my fur brother, especially when he has had enough and I want to keep going. But then my mom gives me a bone, and I quiet down. Speaking of the kennel I can sleep in there all night with no problem, but I would prefer sleeping at the foot of my people's bed. No dog beds required for me, as I have a habit of dismantling them if I get bored (I mean, they ARE just a really big stuffie, right?)   I am told I am smart and treat motivated- and they are right! I can sit and down with the right motivation, and I take treats with a very soft mouth. I am working on leave it and drop it with good progress, but I am a little stumped on stay (I am just too excited and impatient for that at this point.)   Now I should admit to a few negatives; a guy can't be perfect. I have a tendency to check out the kitchen counter to see if you were silly enough to leave something out for me- I mean, thanks for the treat! I also have a problem with chasing the cat. I am not aggressive, I just want to play with them, but the cat doesn't seem to see it that way, and if the cat hides, I instinctively seek so they can't get away.   Hope to meet you really soon!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $525.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 10, 2026, 4:32 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $300 plus tax Friendly! Not treat motivated  No accidents No separation anxiety  Dwight would do best in an active home (His foster believes a home without younger children smf no other dog would be ideal) Loves to be outside  Goes on errands with his Foster like Home Depot runs and Petco visits One time Dwight saw a mannequin and nuzzled it's hand so it would 'pet' him - Cute!! Dwight would like everyone who sees him to say hi  Dwight is a handsome Great Pyrenees and Border Collie mix! He loves dog parks and playing outside, rolling in the grass. He will do well in a fenced property or farm. He is leash trained, muzzle trained, and crate trained, however, the door often remains open. He’s a quick learner. He’s a little over 4 years old and shy of 100 pounds. He knows no, wait, down, paw, gentle, bed, belly, “get it” to eat, and sit with many more things he’s still perfecting. Dwight does get long with other dogs but would perfer to be the only dog in his adoptive home.  He loves the butt scratches but when he is sleeping her prefers to be left alone. He can sometimes be a little protective of his chew bones or food. He doesn’t play fetch but he loves chasing a laser like a cat. He prefers humans to chase him as a way of playing. He came from a home with two adults and should not go to a home with children. He’s used to a more quiet space and doesn’t do very well with loud noises. He did a great job outside watching his previous owner in his work shop. He does a great job being an outside guard dog, that’s definitely the Great Pyrenees in him. He loves to work and play. He has a ton of energy.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

Story
Frost is a recent addition to our Second Chance program. He is a 1 and 1/2 yr old male Great Pyrenees mix that weighs 64# and has a happy-go-lucky personality. Frost is fine with other dogs – if another dog barks at him, he will just walk away; likes being with the resident dogs, and we think he'd like going to a home with another dog, or he could be an only dog. He ignores the cats. Frost is friendly meeting new people, and enjoys any and all kids he has met. Housebroken, and gets restless when he needs to go out. He follows the lead of the resident dogs when they come back into the house, or when he sees his person. Sits on command, and rides well in the car. 0K walking on leash – doesn’t pull. Discovered the toy box and emptied it, but chews on toys rather than play with them. He’ll need approved things to chew on. A fenced yard would be ideal because Frost LOVES THE SNOW !! He will sometimes bark when he sees people or another dog walking by the yard, but otherwise is quiet. Frost is a very loving dog with an easy-going disposition. He is very sweet and endearing, doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. Tries to please you, and will stop doing something if given a firm "no" command. Frost is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative), and microchipped. He can be adopted for $350 . Had a dental cleaning in November - no extractions. Call 651-771—5662 if you’d like to meet him.

Story
Gigi is a playful, sweet Great Pyrenees with a gentle nature and strong guardian instincts. She is affectionate with her family and is very good with little kids, showing patience and calm around them. Gigi loves to roam and explore, spending her days sniffing out wildlife that has passed through the property. At night, she is alert and naturally keeps coyotes, foxes, and other animals at bay. Because she is a devoted protector of her people, Gigi prefers to be the only dog in the home or to live with adopters experienced with Great Pyrenees who understand proper introductions and boundaries. This is a common trait of livestock guardian breeds and part of what makes her such a loyal companion. Gigi would thrive in a home with acreage or a large, securely fenced yard and a loving family who appreciates the independence and watchfulness typical of Great Pyrenees. She bonds deeply with her people and takes her role as their protector seriously.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾✨ Meet Mojo — Ready to Get His Mojo Back (and Maybe Steal Yours) ✨🐾 They say mojo is that powerful, intangible spark — a mix of charm, confidence, luck, and magic. And let us tell you… this boy is getting his mojo back in a BIG way. Mojo is a 3-year-old, 52-pound Golden Pyrenees with a heart as soft as his coat and a personality that’s finally starting to shine. He came to rescue a little underweight and down on his luck, but thanks to his foster home, good groceries, and doggie siblings showing him the ropes, Mojo is well on his way to being a happy, healthy, well-adjusted boy — and it looks very good on him. Mojo is friendly, affectionate, and loves other dogs. He’s learning all about sibling sharing, playtime, and how fun it is to just be a dog. Toys are a favorite, tail wags are frequent, and his confidence grows more every day. He walks nicely on leash and is a total gentleman with people — the kind of dog who makes friends wherever he goes without even trying. Because Mojo once believed fences were more of a suggestion than a rule, he’ll need a secure fence and not too much unsupervised yard time. He’s much happier adventuring with his people anyway. Speaking of adventures — Mojo would make a fantastic hiking or exploring buddy for an active family who wants a loyal sidekick with a little sparkle. 🐕 Mojo’s Magic Stats: ✨ 3 years old, ~52 lbs (currently adding some much-needed groceries) ✨ Golden Pyrenees boy with movie-star looks ✨ Friendly, social, and great with other dogs ✨ Playful, toy-loving, and learning confidence daily ✨ Walks well on leash ✨ Good with dog savvy cats - but would probably love a good game of chase if they run ✨ Needs a secure fence and human companionship Mojo doesn’t just want a home — he wants a fresh start, a family to share life with, and someone who believes in the magic of second chances. If you’ve ever felt like you needed a little extra luck, love, and joy in your life… adopting Mojo might be exactly how you get your mojo back too. Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let this golden boy work his magic right into your heart. 🐾💛
