Story
Meet Bunny! This beautiful 2-year-old female Husky is looking for her forever home. She’s up to date on all vaccinations, fixed, microchipped, and has tested negative for heartworm. She does well with other dogs, though her behavior around cats and kids is unknown. She enjoys going for walks and spending time outdoors with her people, making her a great match for an active home. She can be a bit shy at first, but once she warms up, she becomes a loyal and loving companion. Like many Huskies, she has a curious and adventurous side and will need a secure yard, as she may dig if left alone. With a little patience and the right environment, she’ll make an amazing best friend.   Stray Haven in an effort to help with the overcapacity of one of their partnering rescues, is crossposting the adoptable pets. Ripley County Humane Society is a beautiful non kill campus, comprised of three buildings on 13 sprawling acres in Osgood Indiana. Due to the remote location, they don't show up in the searches commonly made by adopters because they are just outside for the 30 mile radius of Cincinnati OH, Indianapolis IN and Louisville KY. Please take a look at these beautiful babies and fill out an application at the link below OR drop by their physical location which is open every single day from 12-330 for visitors.   If you would like to meet any of our pets, they are available for viewing, every single day from noon until 3:30pm. If you have other dogs a meet and greet is required. Calling before a long drive is recommended to confirm availability. Ripley County Humane Society, 1202 W County Rd 150 N, Osgood, IN 47037. 812-689-3773  You can fill out an application online at this link - https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57789/generic . ##2761892##

Story
Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He is about 10 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn't understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or other dog similar in size would be ideal! HUSKY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. CANNOT BE PLACED WITH CHILDREN OR CATS. If you want to be a part of Avi's recovery and future, and are willing to invest in long term training, apply for him today! His adoption fee is $25. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LOUC/Dog All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Nataliya! Nataliya is a beautiful 7-month-old, 55-pound female Goberian (Golden Retriever/Siberian Husky) puppy. In the short time since she has been in rescue, she has become a sweet and affectionate pup who no longer seems to be fearful. She enjoys playing with toys, exploring the yard, playing with her foster siblings, and following her foster mom everywhere. Nataliya has a beautiful black, gray, and white coat with gorgeous markings on her face. She is eager to please and follows directions well, as long as she can control her excitement! She is currently 45 pounds and will likely be a large dog when fully grown. She is fostered with a one-year-old mama dog and her three puppies, who she loves playing with. Nataliya is medium-to-high energy now and will likely remain active into adulthood. Despite her Husky heritage, she has rarely barked while in foster care, although she does occasionally whine. She is making great strides with her potty training after only two weeks in a home and is an excellent car rider. She is also doing pretty well on a leash for it being her first experience with one. She zig-zags quite a bit, but ultimately keeps moving forward! Like all puppies, Nataliya will need to continue learning boundaries. For an active breed mix like her, daily exercise beyond playing in the backyard will be important, such as long walks, runs, hiking, or trips to the dog park. A fenced-in yard would be ideal for her. Nataliya is a very sweet and affectionate puppy with lots of love to give—not to mention she’s gorgeous! After starting her short life confined in a puppy mill, she is ready to experience the “good life” as a cherished family pet. If you have the right home to give Nataliya the love, exercise, and commitment she deserves, she would be a wonderful addition to your family. Nataliya is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. About Gianna: Gender: Female Age: 2 Yrs Weight: 41 lbs Breed: Husky/German Shepherd (GSD) Spayed: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Adoption Fee:  $250.00 (plus tax)   Dogs: Gianna loves to play with other dogs and we would love to place her in a home with another dog who is close to her size.    Cats: Gianna sees cats as squeaky toys, so she’s a no on cats.  does not do well with cats.   Kids: Gianna She has done great with older children (12+).  The quick movements of younger kids are a little overwhelming for her.    Crate Trained: Yes, she’s great about going in her crate when needs to be in it.    Housebroken: Yes, and she will go to the door to let you know she would like to go out.   Leash Manners: Gianna is easy to walk and she would LOVE to have a hiking partner.     Training: Gianna knows sit, down, come and crate reliably. She’s treat motivated and eager to learn.     Home Recommendation: Gianna would do best in an active home. Gianna has a typical German Shepherd temperament with regards to new people…a little cautious.   At home however she is sweet, spunky and full of energy.  She loves her people with her whole heart and is completely devoted to them.    She loves to play fetch, will be your constant companion and will love you like no other dog has!   Gianna is absolutely amazing and will make a wonderful addition to her forever home.    If you’re interested in meeting this amazing pup, please fill out an application at www.pawprintsnky.com. Her listing will be removed as soon as he has an approved application Most importantly, please be honest!  We have many people tell us what they think we want to read, not what's truthful.  If there are discrepancies, your application will be denied.  It's important for us to place dogs in a home that's suitable.  You may be a stellar owner but possibly not a good fit for the dog you were first interested in adopting.  We're not trying to offend anyone, we're trying to set everyone up for success.    We're a best fit rescue and will verify your vet and personal references.  March 16, 2026, 12:18 am
