Story
We are Mishka’s third home. We acquired her from a military family that was living down in the Joint Base Lewis-McChord area who also acquired her from another military family, we are assuming relocated. She has been with us since October of 2020 and has been around our lab that is 4 years older than her and has also grown up with our two kiddos. She is a very vocal pup and loves to play as well. We don’t have any cats so we don’t know how she would be with them. We call her Mish and Moo (moo) for short. She likes frozen blueberries as a nice snack but will eat any other yummy treats.

Story
Meet Max: Three Legs, One Big Heart ♥️Hi, I’m Max, a 5 year old, 53 lb Husky who’s living proof that you don’t need four legs to live your best life.My story starts in Lebanon, where I was found with gunshot wounds so severe my leg had to be amputated. I was alone, in pain, and had been through more than any dog should ever endure. An incredible team of animal rescuers found me, refused to give up on me, and fought hard to get me every bit of care I needed. That journey brought me all the way here, and I’ve never looked back.I lost one of my legs, but honestly? You’d barely know it. I hike, I explore, I roam and I do it all at an easy, unhurried pace that makes every outing feel like a good idea.My favorite thing in the world is a good sniff walk where I can take my time and smell absolutely everything.I’m independent and easygoing. I don’t require constant entertainment or attention. I’m happy just being with you, whether that’s trotting alongside you on a leisurely hike, joining you on a camping trip, or quietly hanging out beside you at home getting pets after a sniff walk. I do love the couch and a good fuzzy bed too. With people, I am pure sweetness. I love being petted, I’m treat-motivated (beef liver treats are one of my favorites!), and I’ll reward your patience with so much loyalty. With other dogs, I’m friendly and neutral. I’m not a rough player, but I’m open to making friends at my own pace. I do best with calm, neutral dogs who give me space to settle in. Younger dogs with good boundaries who can take cues from other dogs can also be a great match for me.I do best in a home with a yard where I can wander, sniff, and dig a little. It’s a husky thing. Apartment life may not be the best fit for me.With cats, I can do well with confident cats who are comfortable around dogs. I’m curious and playful rather than predatory with my foster’s cat. But a cat who holds their ground is the right match for me.A note about mealtimes — I like my food to be mine. A home where dogs are separated during mealtimes and food or resources aren’t left lying around is exactly the kind of setup where I thrive. Simple management. If you’re someone who enjoys having an independent soul dog, loves getting out in the outdoors, and wants a one-of-a-kind adventure buddy, I think we’d make a pretty great team.If you’d like to make me family, reach out to my rescue PawesomeBaby!——————————————-Max is currently being fostered by an amazing family in Seattle. He’s available for in person meetups for WA and BC adoptions. We also adopt to Alaska, we cover the transportation. The only thing required of you is to pay the adoption fee and offer the loving forever family he can count on!Check out the Instagram story highlights at @PawesomeBaby for more pictures and videos.———————————————Age: 5 yrsSex: Male, neuteredVaccination: current on core vaccines.Heartworm negative.Special needs husky with three legs.Needs home with a yard.———————————————Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog! God bless!

I got him October 29,2020 he was a couple weeks old. He is now five years old. I am hoping that he goes to a home, preferably with no kids and somebody that will be able to give him more time and attention and care. I would describe him as goofy and loving and very dramatic.

Story
Meet Almond – Sunshine in Dog Form Almond is a 1-year-old yellow Shepherd-Husky mix who’s ready to trade her past for a fresh start—and maybe a yard full of squeaky toys. This sweet girl was rescued off death row in Downey, CA. She had almost given up hope when someone asked Red Waggin’ to give her a second chance. Now she’s safe in Washington, dreaming of her forever (or foster!) family. Almond is equal parts playful and people-loving. She greets new friends—human or canine—with joyful energy and a few excited barks. Once she’s had a chance to say hello, she settles in quickly and just wants to be part of the pack. She's done well with other dogs and would thrive in an active home where she gets attention, structure, and love. We’re still learning more about her every day, but she’s already showing us that she’s eager to please and full of potential. She’s one of those dogs who makes everyone smile—and you can tell she knows it. - Outgoing - Smart and eager to learn - Sweet with people and dogs - Needs an active, attentive home - Available for foster or adoption If Almond might be your next best friend, please visit redwagginrescue.org/adopt to fill out a foster or adoption application.
