Story
Hi, my name is Odin and I'm looking for my forever best friend! I've had kind of a rough start and it takes me a little bit of time and patience before I know you're my people. You see, I used to have a family, but I lived in the backyard and one day they moved away and didn't even pack me up! I spent six weeks roaming the streets in the peak of Texas summer, a nice couple fed me burgers but I was wary of people and didn't really want anybody approaching me. The friendly rescue people down the street spent time every day checking on me and talking to me until I finally let them put a leash on me. What a relief when I found out that they had all kinds of yummy treats, two meals a day, and AIR CONDITIONING! I am a grumbly husky with a lot to say and it took me a couple weeks before I would let foster mom pet me without grumbling at her. I am very vocal and I don't love new people in my space, but I always let them know. I also don't like to be grabbed, pushed, lifted, or pulled by strangers. My foster mama is bestest friend in the world though and I love to sit in her lap and lean up on her legs when I see her (I call these Odin hugs). She can even restrain me or pick me up if she wants, I know that she would never ever hurt me. I've been making lots of friends you see, and I'm always so excited to see them! I have a foster auntie and I love her so much when she comes over I'm sure to give her lots of Odin hugs. Slowly, I'm learning that there are more good people than bad people and I'm learning to let my walls down faster and faster. I even go to puppy sitting when my foster mom is out of town, and I LOVE those people too! I'm turning into a regular social butterfly, I just need some time getting to know my new friends before I let them into my heart. The coolest thing about being a rescue dog is being a big foster brother to all the other fosters! I get to show them the ropes, my foster mama finds lots of dogs outside. The resident dogs in this house might not remember their previous lives, but I sure do! I'm a great big foster brother and most of the new fosters really look to me for reassurance. I like to play a little rough and it's hard to find friends who will play at my level. I love to grumble and play growl and sometimes the other dogs get confused by my body language. I've watched a couple of my foster siblings get adopted and go to their furever homes, and I'm still waiting for my turn! My foster mama says she would just keep me but she's hopeful that I'll find my very own people who can share their whole world with me!! Odin is a wonderful dog who needs a little patience before he lets his true temperament shine. He is extremely loyal but would thrive in a home with experienced dog owners as he doesn't like to be grabbed, lifted, or pushed, and responds best to positive and upbeat energy. He's eager to please and with a little patience has learned to go into the crate (where he does an excellent job being quiet and settling down) and into the car. He has a lot of energy and would love an active family to take him hiking, walking, or jogging. Odin is a good weight at 75 pounds,is done with HW treatment, and is about 3 years old. If you bring the patience, respect, and treats, Odin will bring the unwavering love and loyalty! Local adoption fee $200 (in TX)

Story
Meet Ollie, the spirited husky mix pup whose eyes mirror the vivid blue of the Texas sky. Eager to embark on thrilling escapades with his forever companions, Ollie is a growing bundle of energy and curiosity. This adventurous puppy has swiftly adapted to car rides, hopping in and out effortlessly, his excitement palpable as he anticipates the next fun-filled destination. However, Ollie is no stranger to the scorching Texas heat, and while he revels in outdoor play, he appreciates the shade and a break from the relentless sun. Ollie is not just a fun pup; he's a smart learner too. He has mastered basic commands, walks beautifully on a leash, and is both kennel and house trained. His social nature shines when he's around other dogs, although he prefers playmates that match his size and enthusiasm. With older children, Ollie's gentle nature truly blossoms, making him a great companion for families. He has calmly interacted with cats and even a pig he’s met through the fence! While initially a bit cautious around new faces and unfamiliar surroundings, Ollie's trepidation melts away with soothing voices and patient gestures. Once he trusts you, he becomes a cuddle enthusiast, relishing every pet and moment of attention. Ollie thrives in cooler climates, making him the perfect companion for outdoor enthusiasts. He longs for an owner who shares his zest for life, someone who will take him on thrilling runs and hikes, and ideally, a furry sibling of similar size to frolic with. With his striking blue eyes and boundless enthusiasm, Ollie is not just any dog; he's a promise of endless adventures and unwavering companionship. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Roger! An amazingly sweet and loving 2-year-old, 50lb Husky who is looking for his forever home! Roger has a wonderful temperament, is smart and eager to please. He is great with other dogs and requires an active dog for companionship and play in his forever home! He can get bored without another dog friend and feels more confident with other dogs around. Roger loves going on walks and adventures and does well on leash. Roger prefers to be outside than indoors, and requires a home with a fully fenced large yard for him to roam and play. Roger is not tested with cats, we think kids over 8 would be fine! Roger does not do well being crated and can have some anxiety with being indoors, we think he may have been an outdoor dog most of his life. He would do best in a home that has a outdoor secure dog run he can be put in whenever he needs to be 'crated', or a family that has the experience and time to work on crate training with him. He is on the waitlist to be neutered and will be neutered prior to adoption. He is UTD on shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400.

This is Aiko! She will be 2 years old in July. I took her in after her original owner could no longer care for her. She is super loving, smart, and a great protector. She’s good with people, but does not get along with other dogs. I have to find a new home for her because of this reason. She is house-trained and kenneled trained, but can be disobedient. She is very food motivated but this quickly turns into food aggression. I’m looking for someone who is experienced with big dogs and will dedicate the time to train her.

Story
*hair blowing in the wind (even though she's indoors)* *unexplained sparkles in the air* *faint heavenly music* Yes, she is me. Chloe. Now that you are blinded by my beauty, let me explain why I am the absolute best girl on the inside too and so deserving of your (and everyone's) undivided adoration. I'm loyal, smart as a whip, and FUN, just to name a few. Unfortunately, I didn't come from the most glamorous beginnings. I was an outdoor doggy with not much interaction from birth and my family also left me behind when they moved. Thus, I wasn't really brought up interacting with you humans or being touched/handled. I've had my quirks while adjusting to being a family dog and will definitely need someone patient and understanding with me. (If you get too touchy right away, I don't like that and will try to protect myself.) However, if you are slow and gain my trust I will HANG on your every move. I have adjusted very quickly in the past with proper introductions to people. Even still, I would probably do best in a home without young children. I'm a lady after all and need time to sniff you out before you get grabby. I am an active girl and love to feel the wind in my hair outdoors too. I run with the speed of light and have a prey drive to sniff out bugs, lizards and more. I also love to play tug of war and fetch with my foster mommy inside. I bounce, bounce, bounce all the time! I am great on leash so walks and hikes would be great for me. Getting my energy out will help me focus on training too. I am very smart and learn quickly, but tend to lose interest if I'm still chock full of go, go, go!! With all of this perfection, all of your pet needs should be fulfilled, right? RIGHT? I hope so because I would do great as an only pet in the home. I have been able to co-exist with dogs at the rescue but I am a bit of a diva in my foster home. I have a domineering personality sometimes and will even mark like a male when I come across another dog's scent in my house. How dare they??? Existing? HERE? (She is otherwise house trained.) Considering that you and I know each other a little better now, you may pet me. Yes, I am very soft, I know. Please keep in mind that I am a Chow/shepherd mix and have hair that will require brushing, maybe even the occasional spa treatment, Swedish massage, 24k gold facials...yeahhhhhhhhhh.... Sorry! I forgot you were here. In all seriousness, once I trust you, I will allow you to brush me out without much fuss. It doesn't need to be daily but I am a rough and tumble kinda gal and can use help keeping my locks flowing and free. I also shed so if I seem to be losing my girlish figure, it's probably just extra hair that needs to be brushed off. I hope you have a strong vacuum. ;) I could go on for days about myself, but I'll stop here. Don't wanna overwhelm you. If you think you are up for the challenge of a total spitfire like me, please feel free to send in an application and foster mommy can tell you more about all of the grandeur that is...CHLOE. Story
Hello, my name is Buster... short for Buster Brown... which seems to fit for me ;) I am a gorgeous color- like when you are painting things in school and you mix the burnt orange in with the brown paint- you get ME!!! I appear to be a Chow mix, my fur is medium length and somewhat fluffy and is so soft!! My face looks square and so KISSABLE!! I am about 70# so not a small boy, I know what I want in life. I have the personality of a goofy boy and smart, independent chow as well in that I LOVE my people, but can be a little reserved until I know I love them!! I came to the pound with horrible injuries to my back end, likely the result of a car accident or a drag accident. My legs were in pretty horrible shape and I was unable to walk for the first couple of days. Now my legs are completely healed over and I have totally forgotten why we are even discussing it!! I have a really strong spirit to have gotten through such awful injuries with the sweet countenance I have. I love my people and am pretty good with other dogs too. I am great in a crate, on a leash, in a house with a mouse too :) (Dr Seuss is my favorite author!!) I am ready for my forever family, I can be a little nervous with people in my face and would really be best with older kids but everyone else is cool!! Look me up and adopt me, you will never regret it- I will make all your dreams come true!! (ok, you will make MINE come true) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)
