Story
Hello future family! My name is Link! I'm a spirited and affectionate Husky ready to leap into your heart. I've traveled all the way from a California kill shelter to the beautiful state of Washington, seeking a second chance at life and love. The day I was supposed to be euthanized, my rescuers saved me just in the nick of time and now I'm eager to find my forever home. The shelter thinks I’m around 4 years old. I am medium size, weighing only around 49 lb and 30” tall. I'm a playful bundle of joy who loves to run, play, and shower you with love nibbles and kisses. My past may be a mystery, but my personality is an open book filled with love and excitement. I'm known for my playful antics and can be a bit mouthy when I'm excited, so I'd love a home with an active furry sibling to match my energy. I can be an only dog too, if my human can setup play dates to meet my socializing needs. I adore attention and can't wait to prance over to you for some well-deserved pets. I'm a social butterfly at the dog park, making friends with ease, and I'm quickly learning basic commands. Rest assured, I'm house trained and a well-behaved boy, quietly awaiting our afternoon walks. Speaking of walks, did I mention I'm FAST? I love chasing after squirrels and feeling the wind in my fur as I sprint around the dog park. And oh, when I get the zoomies, I have this adorable quirk – I jump straight up into the air! It's so cute and unique, how many other dogs have you seen do that? My ideal human would be someone active like me, ready to explore and embark on adventures together. Despite my energetic nature, I'm a happy-go-lucky dog who just wants to be part of a loving family. I promise to fill your days with laughter, joy, and endless affection. So, what do you say? Are you ready to welcome a sweet boy like me into your heart and home? With wagging tails, hopeful eyes, and mid-air zoomies, - Link ————————————— Please contact to schedule a meet & greet with Link, and learn about the adoption process. We can arrange meet & greet in the Greater Seattle area. His adoption fee is $300 ———————————— [IMPORTANT] Below listed requirements are meant for everyone’s safety. • If you have other dogs, then you must also be knowledgeable and have good hands on experience with running a multi-dog home to be able to adopt a dog from us. What's expected of the adopter is just keeping basic house rules like (1) keep the dogs apart when feeding, monitor & put away left over food, (2) help them build mutual trust before leaving alone with treats, toys around (3) keep dogs out of kitchen when handling food etc • As with any dog, earn their trust around food handling. This is an essential training for every dog, so they learn to trust their new human. It takes only a couple of practice sessions around meal time with most dogs with no history of food guarding. Teaching to sit, then hand-feeding food & high value treats is one of the best ways to eat trust. • If you have children at home, they should be at least 8+ yrs, and know to safely & respectfully interact with dogs, to be considered for adoption. We think families with younger children will likely not have the time needed to exercise and nourish a new dog. And the time needed to train little kids to safely interact with dogs, read their body language & respect their space. • We discourage the use of choke, pinch, prong collars on our dogs. We do not believe this is the humane way to train dogs for obedience, when there are science based, positive reinforcement training methods available in 2023. Besides, huskies are genetically prone to glaucoma of the eyes, and the pressure on the neck will only hurt them more. Walking on a well fitted no-pull harness is encouraged. ———

Story
Balerion, a spirited and jovial husky mix, boasts the quintessential husky personavibrant, intelligent, and endlessly charming. His thick fur, expressive eyes, and boundless energy are a testament to his breed's renowned traits. Balerion is more than just a pet; he's a well-trained companion who brings joy and dynamism into any setting. His eagerness to please and quick wit make him responsive to commands, though his husky heritage ensures he's always ready for a playful challenge or a brisk adventure. He thrives in an environment where his mental and physical energies are regularly engaged, embodying the essence of fun and companionship. Given his pack-oriented nature, Balerion seeks a home where he can bond with another canine friend, ensuring he has the companionship that is vital to his wellbeing. His prey drive suggests a home without feline members or other small animals. Balerion's boisterous spirit is well-suited to a family with older children who can match his energy and enthusiasm for life. As a young dog, he continues to blossom with ongoing training and socialization, promising to grow into an even more remarkable companion. Balerion is not just looking for a home; he's looking for a family ready to embrace his lively husky spirit, commit to his continued development, and explore the boundless joy of sharing their lives with this extraordinary dog. Story
Meet EVA GREENE ** NEEDS ANOTHER DOG IN THE HOME ** ++ No apartments. Must have a fenced yard. ++ NAME: Eva Greene AGE/GENDER: 3 year old female BREED: Husky mix TEMPERAMENT: Shy, gentle, loving WEIGHT: 50ish pounds HOUSE TRAINING: Good. CRATE TRAINING: Good. OTHER DOGS: Eva loves other dogs and does require another dog in the home. CATS: No due to her breed. CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 12 and older ADOPTION DONATION: $550 HEALTH: Eva is spayed, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. HISTORY: Prior to coming to us, Eva spent the first few years of her life chained up, so she's learning how to trust people and live inside- and she's doing great. She has come out of her shells so much. Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find her a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do! NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Eva is a gentle, sweet, adult husky mix who is looking for a quiet home with another dog. She really understands dogs more than people, so she takes cues and comfort from them and it helps her learn, trust and grow. Eva has come such a long way since she arrived, especially as she's discovered how nice and comfortable a home can be and she no longer wants to be outside in inclement weather or left alone for long. She does however enjoy the yard very much and as she's used to hanging out and enjoying the scenery, she will need a fenced yard for her continued happiness. She is playful and she prefers other friendly dogs and people to be calm. An intense, high-energy household would be difficult for her, but she'd love one where Netflix and chill or walks and hikes are a part of the routine. She is a gorgeous dog who sheds like a maniac as huskies tend to so be aware of the need for brushing! In all, Eva is a gem and we can't wait till someone sees her the way we do! All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs. Each dog also receives a "Tour Gear Bag" full of brochures, coupons, and supplies for your new pup! Please visit our website www.motleyzoorescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Meet Tiffany 💕 * Interaction with People : Initially shy, so it's advisable to approach her slowly. However, once she's at ease, she becomes affectionate and even asks to be petted by leaning her head. * Interaction with Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs at the center. She's quite popular at the center ! * Separation Anxiety: Not applicable as she is currently at the center with other dogs. * Potty training: Only does outdoor elimination at the center. * Walking: There can be resistance or hesitance at first since she is apprehensive about going for walks with strangers. However, once she gets acclimated to them, she walks well alongside them. * Car Sickness: No car sickness, and she rides well in cars. 💌Special Note💌 * Excellent in responding to dependable staff members, and even puts her hand on the food bowl as if she would ask for food. We no longer accept PayPal due to their high fees & charges but if the potential adopter wants to pay them we will accept PayPal. Look at this face, it’s haunting to think he almost lost his life. Jericho the easiest & nicest boy you will ever meet was in a death camp of a scary shelter in CA. How he ended up there, we will never know? The dreaded kill list was emailed out with many dogs with deadlines on them. Meaning, a rescue needs to save them or they will be euthanized. He had zero public interest & was not even listed anywhere on social media. He was in the shelter for months. We rescued this beautiful big boy & 4 other sweet souls out of kill shelters in CA on that very same day who desperately needed help that day or they were all going to be euthanized because no one wanted them. That day was 1 very sad & joyous day all at the same time. Because we knew so many others did not make it out. Without our amazing foster mum, this would not of happened. Jericho who is now looking own forever home & who will never give up on him again & dump him & love him just as his foster family & we do. Jericho was bought back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find him his loving forever home. Thank goodness this boy is so forgiving for what humans have done to him. He is the nicest boy you will have the pleasure of meeting. Jericho has experienced going to doggy daycare to socialize him with other dogs with countless breeds & does well. The absolute insanity to think this beautiful boy ended up in one of the highest county kill shelters in CA is soul destroying. Jericho is such a big sweetheart. Such a happy & so loving soul & yet such a peaceful soul. Jericho just wants to be loved. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. He loves everyone he meets & enjoys being cuddled to & given love. That’s when he is standing still. He would be the type of boy who would like to experience many adventures. But that being said he is a very calm, sweet boy. He will also just sit or lay with you also. Wherever you are, that’s where he wants to be. Jericho needs to be watched when in the kitchen as he can counter surf if he finds something on the counter he wants to eat. Jericho is a great eater & not shy about his food & treats. He has put on a whopping 13.4 lbs since being in the rescue. Jericho’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for his safety. He enjoys going out into the backyard & running around playing with his friends. Jericho has been great with his baths because he started having them the moment he was rescued with us so he is used to them. He is also really good with being brushed. He loves men & woman. Jericho loves a good car ride & gets so excited when you tell him he is going in the car. At first he wants to sit in your lap when you drive but once you tell him to get in the back, he listens to you & gets in the back & rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey. He does still need continued work walking on his harness & leash & will like to try to pull you to where he wants to go to but will listen to you. He is a strong boy. We are looking for a forever home for Jericho where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them & there must be another dog or dogs in the home for him to thrive. Jericho loves other dogs & needs another dog or dogs in the home to play with. This is mandatory for his new home. We are also looking for a crate free home for the lad only. He was left in a cage at the shelter until we rescued him. Jericho is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Jericho has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. It’s mandatory for him to be in a home with playful dogs. A fenced backyard is also mandatory. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory. Jericho is roughly just 3 years old & 73.4 lbs & is perhaps a Siberian husky what he is mixed with we are not sure at all. He is male, neutered & we just got him a dental scale & polish & he had dental x-rays. He is microchipped, had a 4DX snap test, he is heart worm negative & up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on rescuing Jericho with all of his medical, dental, shots, transport fees, shelter pull fees, boarding fees etc that exceeds well over his adoption fees. Jericho not has been around cats since being in the rescue. But it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Jericho was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Jericho friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Jericho potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Jericho has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Jericho & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Jericho who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little lad. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Jericho has an adoption fee of $995 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
