He’s had a rough start, but this bright, goofy boy is ready for a fresh beginning and a forever home that will give him the love and consistency he deserves! Marvin is incredibly smart, eager to please, loves people and bonds quickly with his humans. True to his breeds, he’s a mix of playful and mellow: he can romp around like a puppy one minute, then settle down for a quiet nap by your side the next. He’s food motivated but surprisingly gentle when taking treats and not protective of his food. He’s also a pro at fetch and loves showing off his retrieving skills! Marvin is working on his confidence around other dogs. He can be wary and reactive at first, and with some dogs more than others. Because of this, he’ll do best in a home where he’s the only dog and with a patient adopter committed to continued positive training and slow introductions. As Marvin is still working through some reactivity around other dogs, he is not suited for busy city life or an apartment. We are looking for adopters that have a free-standing home and a fenced backyard for him. Some decompression time in a foster or forever home will do his nerves quite a bit of good and help nurture his calmer, confident side! He’s house-trained, sleeps soundly through the night beside your bed, and won’t stir until you do. Marvin does have some separation anxiety that his forever home should be prepared to work through, he thrives when he’s close to his people and in a calm, predictable environment. He would also do best in a home without cats. Marvin listens well to simple corrections like “hey” or “no,” especially when he’s tempted to sneak a peek at the countertop buffet. Animal Information: Maple and her brother Moose were surrendered to our rescue by a Good Samaritan. While visiting friends on reservation land, she noticed two very emaciated puppies wandering outside. Sadly, a third puppy from the same group had already passed away, likely due to malnutrition. The puppies did not have access to food or water. Seeing their condition, she made the decision to bring Maple and Moose home and began searching for a rescue in the Seattle area that could take them in. After meeting the puppies, we agreed to help and bring them into our care. Maple and Moose are estimated to be around 3.5 months old and currently weigh under 10 pounds each. Their parents are known on the property. Their mother is a Siberian Husky mix and their father is an Australian Shepherd. I like to get to know my people slowly, but once I do I love your pets and scratches and I'll even sit in your lap! I'm very food motivated and guard my food and toys with growls and can be stubborn. I love to go for walks and walk well on a leash. I know lots of commands (sit, stay, up, down, lay down, shake, wait, let's go) and love performing for treats. I was recently in a foster home and here are some of my likes/dislikes that they shared about me… Like: food!, exercise/walks and agility, butt scratches, sleeping in my crate, chewing my toys, watching out the window, music, water, other dogs, comfy beds, getting baths Don't like: brushes, towels and loud trucks Astro would do best as the only dog in a house without kids or other small animals since he can be protective and is strong. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Introducing Ghost! This stunning sweetheart is a playful and loving 5-year-old Malamute mix who is looking for his forever home! Ghost is incredibly friendly, happy and loves to play around outside with his people! He is a leaner and loves pets and attention too. Ghost walks well on leash but can get excited and pull at times. He is large, around 75-80lbs and will need an adopter who can handle his size, strength, and his desire to be cuddled up in your arms! Ghost has done well with other dogs in our care, and actually came from a home where he lived with two other large dogs. He would do well with another large laid back dog in the home or could do fine as an only dog soaking up all of the love and attention. No cats or small animals for him as he has a very high prey drive. He will do best in a home where his family is not gone long hours or takes him with them often. Ghost is an active dog who will make an AMAZING adventure companion for any lucky outdoorsy family. He would love a home that takes him on many adventures as well as has a large yard for him to run and explore. Anything involving snow brings him so much joy and although he likes a good adventure, he can also be a total couch potato! Although he is a super friendly and cuddly dude, he can be strong and bouncy and needs some continued basic obedience training. He has come a long ways on house training however and absolutely LOVES to cuddle with his person! We are recommending an adult only home or a home with kids over the age of 12. He will also require a fence that is at least 6ft tall. Ghost is going to make an incredible addition to any lucky household that adopts him and will be a very loyal companion.
