Story
Our dog Tsugs is a sweet, loving white fluff ball who can't get enough of playing ball and head scratches. We adopted him from the Oakland SPCA several years ago, and he's estimated to be 8 years old. When it's just us at home he's relaxed, curious and often sleeping, but when friends are over or the Amazon carrier knocks he gets so afraid, so full of barks and concern that we have to put him in another room with the door closed and the white noise on. We're about to have our second child (he's great with baby #1!), and that means parents visiting, and soon a nanny, and generally more activity around the house. We just don't think he's ready for it, but we know there's someone that has a quieter life that would love to have Tsugs in it. He's primarily an indoors pup. We're hoping to find someone who can offer Tsugs a permanent home that's not too busy where he can feel safe, play ball, get head scratches and avoid getting stressed.

Story
Note: Due to his extreme leash reactivity and lack of socialization, please indicate in your application that you are willing to take on a dog with serious behavioral issues. Pogo is a four year old Maltese mix and is happy as long as he's by your side. He lacked training when I adopted him from the shelter, but he's been working hard to learn the basics (work in progress). He's smart and treat-motivated, though he can be a bit stubborn. Unfortunately, he was never properly socialized and has a high degree of leash reactivity towards other dogs (fear reaction, according to a trainer). This makes walks a challenge and precludes taking him out in public for most outings, though he doesn't react negatively to friendly dogs he knows. He's not known to bite. As a first-time dog owner with my own health issues, he's become too much for me to manage. He has a lot of potential, and would do well with an experienced dog-owner to complete his training and help him to gain confidence.

Story
If you are looking for a small best friend to be by your side, Danga is your guy. This male maltipoo is a cuddle bug who loves to be held, and would be great in a less active home where he can hang out with his hooman. Danga is a senior, but has enough vim and vigor to go on daily walks and check pee mail. If interested in meeting Danga, please complete an application at jellysplace.org. Danga is subject to our reduced adoption 'senior dog' fee.June 8, 2023, 4:45 am

Story
Who is inherently cool, has cozy vibes, and is only found in San Francisco? It's not Karl the Fog, but Karl the Dog! Karl is the latest addition to the Muttville family. He is an incredibly handsome Lhasa Apso/Maltese mix. Karl is looking for a patient and loving family to call his own in his next chapter of life - he also doesn't mind sharing and gets along well with other dogs! While our Karl has some vision impairment, that doesn't at all limit his capacity to love and be a very good boy, he just needs a bit of help navigating at times. Perfectly cute and loyal, Karl will make a wonderful best pal, but don't take our word for it, come see for yourself! Here's some notes from his foster: Karl the Dog or is it Karl the Snuggler? What can I say about Karl, the dog? When I picked him up, he had just got done with a major surgery (dental & eye mass removal) and was very shaken up. The poor guy wanted to just be left alone. The dude just ended up sleeping for 4 days straight, just getting up to pee and have a bite of something soft to chew. The gentle soul was in pain and just had to rest it off. The cone (of protection vs shame!) was on him all the time :/ His cone came off eventually since he'd been such a good boy and so well-behaved. And he's an inspiration for a lot of us folks who want to prioritize personal wellness. He can show how how to take the time to for a proper nap. He spends about 14-16 hrs sleeping! A lot more in the beginning when he got here since he probably was recovering and wanted to catch up on eons of missed sleep. I think he was finally able to. And slowly his personality started to come out. It's been just about 2 weeks since he's been with us and he's shown us that he is a super well-behaved boy and easygoing. He was found stray, but don't think he's been that way earlier in his life. He's almost 90% vision impaired and about 110% deaf... no ambulances or any police sirens can wake him up from his deep slumber! He's a sweetheart and super gentle, and intelligent in his own way, despite his apparent shortcomings (or might it be his superpowers?). I have no doubt that he'll win anyone over in no time. And incase you missed in the title, Yup, he's a snuggler. If he's by you, he'll curl his whole body in a way and snuggle up and get comfortable, you don't need to do much! Cozying up is his thing. He's a club leader in the cuddle club hands down.... and in my humble opinion, he should be named - Karl The Snuggler!

He enjoys walks in the park and snuggles with his humans. He adores balls and is always ready for a game of fetch! He will do best in a dog savvy household without young children. Story
Miao is a very sweet girl, she looks to be a maltese/bichon mix but this is only a best guess. She doesn't shed much. She's a bit shy to start but she warms up fairly quickly. She love her daily outside walks. Kids loves her as she's so sweet, she does fine with other dogs. SF Bay Area adoption only.
