All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $500   Duncan is a 9 year old Maltese x Poodle who is ready to live out his golden years in style with his forever humans! Duncan was transferred to our rescue from another rescue when they were in need of assistance due to lack of space. We happily agreed to take this handsome gentleman in and he trotted into our arms with a smile on his face and a wag in his tail. Duncan weighs 12 pounds and has a non-shedding coat. He is an option for homes with allergies. Come meet our golden guy and adopt Duncan!  Duncan is a happy little guy who is ready to make the most of his next chapter. He loves his humans and you wouldn’t believe he is nine years old from the amount of pep in his step. He is a great work from home companion as he will quietly watch you work until you are ready to take him out for a walk or an adventure. He LOVES to play and would be a fabulous companion for a resident dog who also loves to get their zoomies out. As much as he likes to play, he is a lounger at heart. If you are looking for a buddy to hang out and binge watch a TV show with, Duncan is your boy! He just wants to be where his humans are. Duncan would love to find a home where he can be a loved cuddle companion. He would love to live life by your side and make you the happiest humans in the world with his presence!  Duncan sleeps peacefully until 8 AM. He heads outside after some enthusiastic morning greetings and goes potty before coming back inside for breakfast. During the day, he follows his humans around the house, gets lots of snuggles, and eats tons of snacks. He goes out for an afternoon walk and has access to the backyard where he loves to suntan. In the evenings after dinner, he curls up on his foster dad’s lap where he watches TV until he is ready to head to bed.  Duncan has lived with dogs and gets along very well with them. He is crate trained and walks very well on a leash. Don’t let his haircut fool you, this dude usually has a fabulous mane of hair that makes all the ladies jealous! If you’re looking for a sweet new pal, adopt Duncan!   Duncan is an option for any home, regardless of prior experience. Kids should be over the age of 5.  April 16, 2025, 10:10 pm

Echo was rescued from Central Valley by one of our rescue partners and made her way up to the Bay Area. This shy gal is ready to blossom and meet her forever humans and get her life started! Come and meet our lovely Echo!     A gentle, shy girl, Echo is the definition of a velcro dog—she follows her person everywhere and loves nothing more than to snuggle up close, whether on the couch or curled up in bed. Echo has a heart full of love and eyes that will melt your soul. She’s quiet, mellow, and incredibly affectionate, asking for pets with the sweetest little flop into your lap. Echo is the kind of dog who needs a home ready to give her the time she needs to come out of her shell and get comfortable. Once she trusts you, you’ll have a loyal companion for the rest of your days!  Echo’s perfect day includes lounging by your side, enjoying several leisurely walks, and maybe nibbling on a bit of kibble (especially if there’s a little chicken on top!). She’s an “affectionate eater” who prefers dining with company and has a sensitive tummy, so simple foods work best. She does well with calm dogs and would thrive with a gentle companion in a quiet home. Echo would do best with someone who’s home most of the time—whether retired, working from home, or just looking for a loving shadow to follow them around. She’s a soft, soulful companion with a heart full of love—ready to share it with the person who sees how truly special she is.     Echo is only an option for experienced homes. She would prefer a home with adults only. April 12, 2025, 9:03 am

**COURTESY REHOMING POST** Toa is not a CACC dog. We have not met him nor evaluated him and can't attest to his health or temperament. Please use the contact information listed to reach out and learn more. Tao, a part of our CACC Courtesy Rehoming Program, is a 2-year-9-month-old pup looking for a special kind of home—one filled with patience, understanding, and a heart willing to help him feel safe. Though he was loved by his previous family, they could no longer care for him, and he now needs someone who truly understands very shy dogs.Tao is naturally cautious around new people and situations. When he feels overwhelmed or insecure, he may react defensively, so he needs a steady, experienced person who can recognize his boundaries and gently guide him toward confidence. Tao may not be the kind of dog who thrives in every situation, but he is the kind of dog who will deeply bond with the right person. If you have the experience and heart to help this little soul find security and love, Tao is waiting for you. For more information on Tao, please email glxssy.naia@gmail.com

Story
Poor Mochi was neglected severely matted and very dirty at a distant shelter. Shelter had him shaved down by a kind groomer who donated her service. ð&#194&#159&#194&#146&#194&#156ð&#194&#159&#194&#152&#194&#141 He did get a nick on his tail from shave down. Needed a bandage on his tail. He was badly matted to his skin. Now he feels so much better. Happy and lovable. Mochi has been great with the foster home's 2 dogs cuddly polite friendly and very sweet. He is an absolute love very sweet snuggly polite and affectionate. Mochi loves his healthy foods and cuddling with foster mom. He will rest learn and get healthy and then will get his neuter surgery. More info. to come. Update: Mochi needs a new experienced foster home. He did great at his first temporary foster home with their two dogs. Loved cuddling lounging and quiet home with yard. Now that is feeling better and comfortable... They have biz travels so he was moved to a foster home monday evening in San Francisco with another dog. City life is too noisy and busy for him. High foot traffic on walks. Too much for him while he is adjusting and learning. At first foster home in San Jose with quiet neighborhood and backyard he was calmer and relaxed. Need experienced foster home to guide and train him on walks to not do reactive barking at new dogs. He loves to cuddle and very sweet. Good with her dog at home. 3/30/25 Update: Mochi is now doing better with his SF foster home. Learning. Now house-trained. He is very social and friendly with people and likes playing with other small dogs that he meets. Good with gentle and dog saavy older kids. On walks he is still learning and may do reactive barking at large dogs so he needs a confident and experience handler to train him not to bark at other large dogs on walks. He did reactive barking at his first dog showcase. He needs continued training to not react and ignore as needed or it can get worse if over coddled and not trained. Mochi likes playing with toys and chewing on his bully stick. He would love a home with another dog playmate. He plays and snuggles with foster home's dog.April 18, 2025, 12:29 am

Story
We have a sweet and affectionate Maltese named Sammy, who is about 5 years old. We got him from a breeder, and he has been a loving part of our family ever since. Sammy is gentle, friendly, and thrives on attention—he loves being close to people and is happiest when he's cuddled up by your side. Unfortunately, we’re moving to a new home that does not allow pets, and we are heartbroken to have to rehome him. We're looking for a kind, stable home where he’ll be loved as much as we’ve loved him—ideally with someone who can give him plenty of time, affection, and companionship. Sammy is truly a wonderful dog—loving, loyal, playful, and well-mannered—and we hope to find a home that will cherish him the way he deserves.
