Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at a meet and greet event on Saturday, November 18th unless he/she is adopted prior to the event with a set up home. The event is from 12 pm to 3 pm at Palo Alto's Pet Food Express. Those interested in meeting the dog can come out to our meet and greet event. We no longer do application approval onsite. Anyone adopting has been previously approved and set up to meet prior to the event. Adoption Fee: $650 Sound of Music: Captain is a 3 year old Maltese x Poodle mix who was rescued from a hoarding situation with his six siblings. These pups came to us with some of the worst matting we have ever seen in our 20+ years as a rescue, but were all loving and patient as our volunteers worked to free them of their matted coats. Captain has a non-shedding coat which makes him an option for those with allergies, or who want less hair around the house. He will require regular grooming and we will be looking for homes with a plan for coat maintenance. Below is a note from Captain’s foster. “Captain first came to me utterly terrified of everyone and everything, due to his not so amazing start to life. Captain has bloomed into a dog who adores kisses, love, pets, and cuddles from his people. If you kiss him on one side of his face, he turns to make sure you kiss his other cheek as well! Captain has started doing zoomies in the backyard and investigating squeaky toys as he has gained confidence. Cap wakes up between 7-9 AM depending on the day. He goes outside right away to potty. He comes back inside and has breakfast and then spends his morning lounging in his bed area. He goes outside a few times a day in the backyard when he needs to potty. He has dinner around 5 PM and then spends the evening romping around the backyard with my resident dog. He sleeps happily through the night in his crate. Captain has been working on his potty training and leash walking skills and is improving by leaps and bounds as the weeks go by. He is very eager to learn so his new home will have a blast working on this with him. Captain gets along with and learns from my dog. He would do well in a home with a confident dog who can show him the ins and outs of being a dog. Captain is a total love bug who has so much to show the world. He has so much personality as well, frequently standing on his hind legs and dancing around. He is so loving once he gets to know you and his forever home will be SO lucky to have him in their life!” Captain is an option for those who have prior dog experience, even if that experience is less recent. He would do best in a home with another dog. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8. November 28, 2023, 12:27 am
